In the grand scheme of things, it's not something to get upset about. But when I hear Boyer spew marketing gobbletygook referring to the Sox as a "brand", I roll my eyes...and he does this in every interview I hear him do. Ok fine Brooks, if you want to talk about them like that in the conference room, that's your business. In public, the White Sox are a major league team, not a product on a shelf in the grocery store. I think this uniform change is an example of the Sox over-thinking things. They have a great home uniform, and a great road uniform. I wish they would wear them more often, and bring out the alternate black once a week.

I think this season is getting better as it goes. They have 5 more episodes to make it really good. It's just too hard to follow up last season with anything to rival it. In my opinion, they have one more season left in them, and they should try to end it with a bang.

Was Beckham's head messed up in the second half when he hit .310? Let's give him another year, and see what he can do.
-
I don't believe for minute that Beckham is available. You don't give up on that much potential at the salary he's at for the next few years. Now if he has another bad start/good finish season, then I might entertain the idea of trading him next offseason when the Sox may have a better idea of what Eduardo Escobar can do. Right now, it would be a highly risky move no matter who they get back. I'm already nervous about the Daniel Hudson loss. If we're an average team next year with Hudson and Beckham playing at a high level for different teams, it would be an ugly scene. I don't think the Sox will take that risk right now.

Johnnie Lowe has been garbage in the AFL. 15.15 ERA. Sweet.
-
Mitchell 0-3 today. Can they just send him home, please?
-
They'll be announced tomorrow. Alexei deserves it, but he probably won't win. Congrats to Buehrle.

I don't think there's any set time for White Sox Weekly. They have NIU football sometimes, and it's usually after that. The 670 site sucks now. I think the whole show last week was filed under "Score Interviews".

Chris Chambliss has left the White Sox organization to become the Mariners hitting coach.

Escobar again... 3-6, 2B, 3B, hitting .377 Mitchell continues to struggle. 0-5, 3 K on a day the team scored 14 runs. I'll give him a pass since basically he's playing spring training. I just hope he has a good minor league season in 2011, and hope he's in the equation in 2012.

Yeah that last scene where she paid for the pizza was ridiculous. She's 20, so we're allowed to gawk. QUOTE (SnB @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 09:27 AM) last night's was a bit of a dud......besides the fact that the daughter just gets hotter and hotter

The first few episodes of Modern Family this season weren't that funny. I think it's been a lot better the last few weeks.

Escobar went 3-5, triple today.
-
Good game for Escobar. 4-5, 2 doubles and a triple. He did make his 6th error though. Anthony Carter pitched a scoreless inning. Escobar, Carter, and Mitchell will be playing in the Rising Stars Game, Saturday night on MLBN.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 02:44 PM) Does anyone else think this means Morel is a lock to be the starting 3B in 2011? I would think if we were considering a more expensive and proven option at 3B, then having Vizquel would be a bit of a luxury. I know $1.75 million isn't a lot of money, but we do have several big holes that need to be filled. At least this should mean no more Teahen at 3B. Unfortunately, I don't see how he fits into the equation now. The only value Teahen provides to the team is a solid bat against righties as backup at several positions, but I'm not sure how much usage he'll really get now. Hopefully we sign or trade for a left-handed power bat for 1B/DH/RF, so that's one position where his value as a backup is minimal. Also, if Quentin remains on the team, that's another spot where Teahen has limited value. At this point, it probably makes the most sense to eat half his contract and see if someone will bite or try swapping him for another over-priced player that fits some need. Yeah, I think Morel was a lock going into this offseason. He's got nothing else to prove in the minors. They know they blew it giving Teahen a 3-yr contract last year. He'll be an overpaid bench player, and really he might not be that bad in that role. He can play all over the field and can hit a little bit.
-
Hopefully it doesn't come to that. Hopefully Morel, Ramirez, and Beckham all play 145-155 games and Vizquel starts the rest. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 02:20 PM) A Morel/Vizquel combination at 3B doesn't sound so bad.

I think he's doing a Zach Galifinakis impression. He's doing a bit. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 09:26 AM) Anyone see any interviews with Brian Wilson after they won? I can't tell if he is a total asshole or just messing around. Kinda of a weird dude.

Will Konerko be in a White Sox uniform come 2011?
flavum replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think he's going to give the Diamondbacks a true hometown discount. He'll be 35. He's got school-aged kids. He's already won a World Series. He's outta here. -
Anthony Carter finally got roughed up including a double to Harper, but struck out 2 more. Harper is at .353. He just turned 18. I think he's on the Nats before his 20th birthday.

Bryce Harper hit a homer. The Sox prospects are sitting today.

http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?si...pddwin_peswin_1 Mercy rule in the AFL, I guess. Escobar with a good game. Mitchell got a hit.

I don't know how anyone can say this World Series is "garbage" without one pitch being thrown yet. Seriously? It's baseball. They won the games fair and square to get there. To write it off before it even starts is exactly what the ESPNs of the world are training people to think---if the Yankees or Red Sox, or other east coast powers don't get there, it's not good enough. Well, f*** them. Enjoy the games no matter who is playing, and maybe they'll be great games. Maybe they'll be boring. Who knows? But to write off this series before it even starts...I really feel sorry for those people, because they don't remember a time when people weren't obsessed with a few teams and what a network's ratings are.

Mitchell 0-4. Had an assist. Anthony Carter doing well. 3 appearances. 3 innings. No hits. No walks. 7 K's.
-
Harper with a 2-RBI double. 1-4
