  1. Morel homer. He's at .318.
  2. 2 solo homers for Tyler Flowers.
  3. Leadoff double for Short. He's back at it after the streak ended. Birmingham facing Jacksonville this week--Mike Stanton. Brent Morel with an RBI single.
  4. Charlotte http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...lhvaaa_chraaa_1 Birmingham http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...biraax_jaxaax_1 Winston-Salem http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...wswafa_potafa_1 Kannapolis http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...kanafx_wvaafx_1
  5. Historically--Buehrle is 24-16 against the Twins, and he's beaten them this year already...and he's coming off a good start.
  6. Yes, they should skip Freddy. I thought the whole point of skipping him last time was top set the rotation for Danks and Buehrle to face the Twins. They should do that, but whatever.
  7. Chet--I like that rule. Maybe I'd say .250, but Beckham needs to lose the music.
  8. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Beckham is a lifetime .213 hitter at US Cellular Field. Very alarming. Even if you take away his 2-24 start at the Cell last year, he's still only .223. I think most of this is in his head. He just needs to find a way to be successful at home, and I think he'll come out of it ok. For now, bat him 7th or 8th for a couple weeks, and if he continues to suck, send him down to Charlotte until he gets his swing back.
  9. Buddy Bell was on the Score this morning. He was saying Danks is trying to do some things with his swing to shorten up. So hopefully that will pay dividends in the next few months. Hopefully a September call up, and he's in the lineup in 2011.
  10. If they lose this game, it could be 10 out by Wednesday afternoon. Yikes.
  11. Charlotte: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...ox&did=milb Birmingham: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...biraax_msbaax_1 Winston-Salem: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...salafa_wswafa_1 Kannapolis: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...kanafx_wvaafx_1
  12. Streak is in jeopardy for Short. 0-4 so far.
  13. Mauer pinch hit and struck out. Twins still added runs. 6-1 going to the 9th. So the Sox are 7 out.
  14. Short 5-6. Prospect or just hot?
  15. That Silverio guy really blows, doesn't he?
  16. Short 3-3. Trayce Thompson has fallen back to earth.
  17. Pawtucket @ Charlotte Hudson Birmingham--Cassel Winston-Salem--Griffith Kannapolis--Bayne
  18. Bad start for Liriano. 6 innings, 10 hits, 5 runs 5-3 O's, top 7
  19. I think that 50 game mark is just being generous. Yeah, I guess they could have hoped to be 26-25 at the end of May, but that's probably not going to happen. They won't be going 14-7 the rest of the month.
  20. 14 K's for Doyle. Too bad he's old for Low-A.
  21. One positive of the rainout--the Twins can't pitch Liriano next Wednesday against the Sox. There was a chance he would have, had he started tonight.
  22. I just want to see Buehrle pitch 7-8 quality innings.
  23. Target Field's first rainout for tonight's game.
  24. I'd definitely fire Walker. And I will admit he might not have anything to do with this. But it doesn't matter. Sometimes you fire a hitting coach just to make a change, and send a message to the team. Beckham--maybe send him to Charlotte for a couple weeks. Let him get some hits, and get his swing back. He's not killing fastballs like he did last year. Maybe a short stint at AAA would be good for him in the long run. On the other hand, this team isn't going anywhere, so maybe just let him work it out here. Ugh, this team is frustrating!
