His first six starts should be:
4-10 vs Min
4-15 at Tor
4-21 vs TB
4-27 at Tex
5-2 at NY
5-7 vs Tor
Then they'll skip the 5th starter, and not need one until 5-18. I'd give him these six starts and if he tanks and Hudson is ok in Charlotte, I think Hudson is up on May 18.
Ok, I'm going to make this very clear....
Spring training statistics mean nothing for the most part. But I will say this about Freddy Garcia:
1) He hasn't exactly lit it up the last four years.
2) His velocity is way down. That cannot be disputed.
3) Dan Hudson is a solid prospect
IF---again IF---Freddy is bad (forget about the record) his first 6-8 starts, and Dan Hudson is everything he was last year his first 6-8 starts, I don't think they will hesitate to pull the plug on Freddy. If they think Hudson gives them a better chance to win, Freddy will be gone.
I said 'If"

Pretty irrelevant. Let's see how Freddy does in real games, and Hudson in AAA, before leaping into a decision.
Last game in Arizona. Tomorrow's split squad is all minor leaguers, with Scott Elarton starting for the Sox.
1. Juan Pierre LF
2. Gordon Beckham 2B
3. Carlos Quentin RF
4. Paul Konerko DH
5. Mark Kotsay 1B
6. Alex Rios CF
7. A.J. Pierzynski C
8. Omar Vizquel 3B
9. Alexei Ramirez SS
Freddy on the hill.
You couldn't do it at all home games, because nobody wants to wear black when it's 90 degrees. Also, unless it's a sellout, it would look dumb. Like I said, Game 163 was a special, one-time thing. Trying to duplicate that is a bad move. Especially on opening day. Wear what you want.
