  1. 28 inning scoreless streak for Hudson. Hudson is done. Lujan warming up.
  2. Huddy- 5 inn, 3 hits, 1 walk, 6 ks 79 pitches. 57 strikes.
  3. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 08:14 PM) Is there a plan to bring him up? I had not seen that. Not necessarily a plan, but Rick Hahn mentioned him as a possible starter until Peavy is ready. If he pitches Saturday, it'll be on three days rest, so he probably wouldn't go 6-7 innings tonight. ...Just thinking--maybe they'll pitch Contreras on Saturday since he only went 66 pitches tonight, and the 5th starter will go Sunday. I'd just prefer Contreras get his walking papers.
  4. 64 pitches for Hudson. If he's going Saturday in Chicago, he better be done. It will be telling if he doesn't come out for the 5th.

  7. Beckham addressed Slayer and Bacon today on the Scott Van Pelt show. I think both are bad. http://sports.espn.go.com/stations/player?id=4376688
  8. August 25th seems perfect to me. He won't be pitching the first game of the Boston series, which also means he won't pitch the Wrigley game on 9/3. I'd rather him not be swinging a bat and running the bases. Let's not tempt fate. So if he starts Aug 25, he starts Aug 30 at NY. Then with a six game homestand, the Sox can get him two home games Sep 4 vs Boston and, Wednesday, Sep 9 vs Oak. Then maybe 9/15 at Sea; 9/20 vs KC, and then two starts vs Detroit to finish the season. Not that I thought this through or anything.

  10. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 12:15 PM) Torres was just fine last time. Dance w/ the girl that brought ya. OK i misused that saying just then. I agree with you in that respect, but after hearing Hahn bring up Hudson's name, I'm beginning to think he's the one coming up. I mean, what was the point of bringing his name up in that situation. He could have just said, "We were all impressed with Torres' spot start, and he'll be coming up for those starts", but he didn't. I think Torres would be great in the pen, by the way. He'll be out there in September.
  11. Hudson is scheduled to start Tuesday for Birmingham. If he gets moved up to Monday, or has a short outing on Tuesday, maybe that will be a sign he's starting on Aug 8 vs Cleveland. Something to look out for.
  12. I'd really like to see what Hudson can do. I really think Torres is a nice pitcher, and I think he's almost a lock to be in the bullpen in 2010. But I think it would be a good move to get Hudson's feet wet and see if he can handle the Indians on August 8 and the Royals on August 18.
  13. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 10:56 PM) That makes me more nervous that he is going to be traded then. He was out on the mound warming up before the 7th. He pointed to his back area, and was removed.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 09:07 PM) It's amazing just how far it has gone. Once again, Ozzie's inability to speak good English has brought another gift. But it's stupid, and he doesn't like it.
  15. So when does the Bacon nickname go away quietly in the night?
  16. If it's the oblique, don't count on him pitching again this year.
  17. Hudson is leaving the game in the 7th inning with an injury. Possibly a back or oblique. Not good.
  18. That's 10 k's for Hudson. He gave up an infield single, and then got the DP. 6 inn, 2 hits, 2 walks, 10 k's
  19. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 08:09 PM) Viciedo almost up to .280. If he works out this off-season and transforms his fat into muscle while also losing 15 pounds, watch out. If all goes well, maybe he can be moved to the OF. Brent Morel seems to be developing as a real 3B prospect. If we can develop a Mitchell-Danks-Viciedo outfield and a Morel-Ramirez-Beckham infield, with a free agent 1B, or Quentin at DH, and Flowers catching, well, that would be something. Of course, they all have to be good players too. And that can get tricky.
  20. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 30, 2009 -> 08:01 PM) The sox future is so bright! Buehrle, Danks, Floyd, Hudson, Richard They could do that now if they wanted to. Colon, Contreras, and Garcia need to be purged from the Sox system. I think that would be a good start.
  21. Once the Sox officially fall out of this thing, Contreras should be released, and Hudson should come up. It won't happen, but that's what should happen.
  22. I'm not calling anyone a liar, but I don't see anything on Cowley's twitter, the Sun-times website, and I haven't heard Cowley on the Score since the game ended. Also, whitesox.com still has Colon's picture up as tomorrow's starter.
  23. QUOTE (Felix @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 02:47 PM) I'll be at the Tuesday game. f*** the Twins and the Metrodome. Show Buehrle some love.
