  1. Second time Stewart had interference called on him this spring.
  2. A different Sergio got traded too...Sergio Santos got traded to the Giants for future considerations.
  3. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 09:56 PM) Scott Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald writes that the White Sox need to make a deal for a center fielder who can bat leadoff. He thinks GM Kenny Williams is "probably close" to making a deal. Gregor doesn't like Jim Edmonds or Juan Pierre for the job, but he doesn't rule out Kenny Lofton. Here's the full blog. http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/1661 I think it's just Gregor blowing smoke. The Kenny Lofton comment...he was joking in the first line, since Lofton and Phillips both used to play for the Sox. Yeah, Kenny might be trying to do something...but isn't he always? But Podsednik? Edmonds? No way. And Pierre? Only if the Dodgers paid like, 80% of his contract.
  4. Maybe Poreda was trying to throw some breaking stuff today, and didn't work. I think he's destined to be a Matt Thornton type.
  5. Russell has been pitiful. He might be getting the piece of paper in his locker soon.
  6. Russell has been awful this spring, and they were really counting on him.
  7. QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 05:10 PM) he won't be there too long though I agree. Unless Getz just has a breakout year.
  8. Beckham struck out swinging. Enjoy Birmingham.
  9. Beckham will bat 3rd next inning. He needs to get back to hitting. Honestly, I see the end for his major league camp coming in the next seven days.
  10. Interesting. You don't usually hear about a low minor for a low minor trade, so maybe there's something brewing (no pun intended). So Miranda said he got traded, and not just released and picked up by Milwaukee?
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 03:13 PM) Fudrucker's? Dave and Buster's? Probably a blow up doll.
  12. I think Quentin is due to go deep today.
  13. A hearty boo for AJ from the SF fans...
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 02:47 PM) Ozzie already said he's now considering Getz for leadoff. Maybe he should try it one of these days.
  15. Uribe is in the lineup for SF. Scott Reifert's blog says some Sox players have some fun in store for Juan.
  16. I'm beginning to think the reason they don't want to lead off with Getz is because of politics. They know Beckham is the future so they don't want to be put in a bad position when it's time to replace Getz. It'll be easier to replace a 9th place hitter than a leadoff hitter. Just a thought.
  17. It's almost decision time on Owens. I hope he has a weak 0-5 today.
  18. QUOTE (juddling @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 05:46 AM) I thought 'Better Off Ted' was pretty ok last night. I could see the show hitting a good stride and being pretty funny. That means somehow(even though it's on ABC) Fox will find a way to cancel it on me LOL I gave it three minutes, and it just wasn't doing it for me. When characters are talking to the camera, it's a bad sign.
  19. Did he just say Donny Stewart? Did I just hear that?
  20. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) DJ and Farmer sounding real dumb, on how we can't put Chris Getz at leadoff because he is a rookie. Yet putting a crappy player like Owens who was in the same situation was considered brilliant. Come on now. Common sense please. Ray Durham led off in 1995, and he never played a game in the majors. Getz can hit in the majors-period.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 04:42 PM) I'm not an expert, but I think the new hitch in Becks swing is affecting his contact. He does have a weird stance. Kind of a reverse pivot stance, with that bat pointing toward the pitcher. It's worked for him, so who am I to say it won't work. But it is unconventional.
