Tonight’s checklist-
Giolito goes 7 innings, 3 or fewer runs
Robert has good at bats; at least some good contact
Vaughn gets a hit
Madrigal does nothing dumb
The optimist Sox fan in me is hopeful for a split. The veteran fan in me knows they’ve already blown that chance. Quite honestly, I’ll be satisfied if they come 3-4 win or loss tonight.
I'm probably trolling a little bit, but Leury has already batted 6th, and Moncada might sit one. I went L-R all the way through. Anyway...catch the ball, score some runs, Cease gets through 6, and we salvage a split.
Eddie Murray was a beast. Sorry Farmio. You can see a 20-yr-old Cal Ripken in his first week in the big leagues.
Sox won in the 10th. Baines lead off double led to the winning run.
Really wanted Cease to pitch with a little less pressure to split a series (even though that’s ridiculous), but here we are. Come home 3-4 and get it together defensively.
I’d feel for the people with tickets, but it’s looking like rain on Thursday and it might not be a bad day to have the Sox get a breather based on what we’ve seen so far.
