  1. Heard the Eaton interview with Carmen and Jurko. Said Hahn called day 1, ready to do whatever “Skip” wants him to do. Can confirm he ended the interview in a jerky way, but whatever.
  2. Hendriks. No c in his name. Mmkay?
  3. Petriello doesn’t like it? Now I really do. Long season next year. If he sucks, it’s a platoon with Engel. If that doesn’t work, mid season trade. We gave a good offense, and the pitching staff is getting better too.
  4. If he had never played for the Sox but put up the same numbers elsewhere, more people would like this move. I think it’s pretty good. Stop lunging for first base running down the line.
  5. So tired of the Hall putting in elderly or dead people when they had the opportunity to do it when guys are alive and able to enjoy it with their family and friends for many years. These 16-person committees are a fucking joke, as we’ve seen. Overall, the writers usually got players in that deserve it...but the pool of players that belong has expanded over the last couple decades. It’s time for the Hall to overhaul the process and put more guys in sooner. Get a better panel of experts, decide who belongs and who doesn’t, and then close that era forever. Minnie Minoso should have been in decades ago, and they still vote on him every few years. Same with Kaat and John, and others. It’s stupid. Either yes or no, but just end it.
  6. No. 35 in 2022 and the CBA expiring in a year (plus the obvious), play out 2021, and then go from there.
  7. Enjoyed the Garfien podcast with Goose Gossage. Dick Allen was before my time, but you can’t deny he was one of the best players 1964-1974 in mostly a pitching era. Definitely a Hall of Fame quality player.
  8. Good deal for the 2021 team if Lynn starts an ALCS game. With expanded postseason, just making it there is less of a thing. It’s now get there, and advance to the LCS. The Sox have a better shot at this now, so I’m good with it. Giolito, Lynn, Keuchel, Cease, plus another acquisition - and Kopech, Lopez, etc is a good place to be going into spring training.
  9. There are virtual meetings and presentations next week. MLB Network will have extra programming and NBCSC will have a daily 30 min show at night. And the Rule 5 is still next Thursday.
  10. Agreed. It’s cool when the occasional rando comes up with a scoop the day before something happens and it comes true. But these guys that tweet all day every day that don’t put their own names on it should be ignored.
  11. It really has to be resolved before the position player free agent and trade market can get going full steam. I mean, we’re probably headed to radical realignment by the end of this decade anyway. Just end it and go full DH.
  12. Once again, “apart” and “ a part” are two different things. Welcome to the Sox!
  13. Hopefully after the legal stuff is finalized, they can make a statement that there will be zero tolerance with Tony and drinking and driving- as in: his days with ANY alcohol in his system and behind the wheel are over.
  14. Good for Jake Burger. If there's one player that needs a proper minor league season to happen next year, it's him. Hopefully he can play a few months in AA, and show we he can do.
  15. True. Also, why don’t they just make the non-tender date the day before adding players to the 40-man (which would be today)? If there’s a good reason why they do it this way, I’m all ears.
  16. I’m for a little amnesty when it was ignored by MLB, and almost encouraged. I’d put in Bonds and Clemens since Piazza, Ivan, and Bagwell (and others) are already in. I said Manny too, but maybe not since he was suspended post-Mitchell Report. I’d draw the line after that for getting in the Hall, so no Arod, Braun, or Cano.
  17. I wish the majority of players would just vote for: 1st offense- 1 yr. 2nd offense- lifetime ban. That might clean things up.
