  1. Astros were one out from their 30th win on Friday. They'll finish 29-31 probably, and face the Twins.
  2. Agreed. And I'm rooting for it to be Oakland, because why not? Go A's and Indians.
  3. I kinda like that matchup actually. Maybe they go out there, change the vibe, and something turns on...and then they stay in California for a while.
  4. Indians have something cooking in the 6th. 6-5 Pirates
  5. 4pm current scores: Tor at TB; NY at Sox Cle at Min; Hou at Oak Twins and A's both in tie games
  6. I can't disagree with you. Just pointing out it will be colder than the Sox on Thursday if we have to play them. Ha.
  7. If we make it to Game 3 in Minneapolis, temps in the 40s. Yay.
  8. Something about Grandal...from the start, he looks wrong in a Sox uniform.
  9. Can't blame them. These games are painfully long. Glad I can watch MLB Network the next 4 hours.
  10. Roenicke not returning as Red Sox manager. Biggest cheater coming back?
  11. Renteria has used the line about Leury rolling out of bed on Christmas and being able to play...or something like that.
  12. Yes, it is something to track and watch for today. But I don't think that's exciting. Exciting is a 3-team race like the Twins, Sox and Indians where every game is huge, tense, thrilling, and in some cases, heartbreaking. Winner moves on to the best-of-5, losers play each other one game to get in...if there aren't other AL teams with better records. This year, I'm not complaining because of 60 games. But going forward, I don't want 8 teams...or even 7. Six, I wouldn't like either, but I'd understand it.
  13. True, but without the safety net of 8 teams, it sure would have been way more tense trying to win a division.
  14. Jose Abreu one of eight AL players to play every game. Starling Marte will have played 61 games because of getting traded and the overlap in Dbacks and Marlins schedules.
  15. I’m keeping track of this almost more than anyone because it’s just dealing with possible outcomes. But I hate the expanded postseason. The Astros should be headed home, and the AL Central truly would have been tense and exciting coming down the stretch, but it’s just dealing with seeds. That’s boring.
  16. TB 39-20 Min 36-23 Oak 35-24 Sox 35-24 NY 33-26 Hou 29-30 Cle 34-25 Tor 32-27 Sox possibilities: 2-seed: Sox win, Twins lose, A's lose 3-seed: Sox win, Twins lose, A's win 4-seed: Sox win, Twins win or Sox lose, Indians lose 7-seed: Sox lose, Indians win Blue Jays and Yankees swap 5 and 8 if Blue Jays win and Yankees lose A's and Twins swap if the A's win and the Twins lose (and Sox lose)
  17. I'm going with a very simple prediction-- Twins, White Sox, Yankees win today. Sox host the Yankees. This is sure not to happen now.
  18. Could happen. Not the way I thought it would.
  19. Agreed. In a two month season, a pitcher isn’t going to win an MVP short of a quality start every time and no offensive player really standing out. Abreu has it in the bag.
  20. Yes, if they're both division winners with the same record, A's are 2, Twins are 3.
