  1. Twins- 67.2, 28.7, 4.1 Sox- 28.7, 32.1, 39.2 Indians- 4.1, 39.2, 56.7
  2. If the A’s lose tonight, Twins move up to 2...matched up with the Indians. Although they can beat them, unlike the Sox.
  3. Yankees lose. 11-18 on the road. Any Yankees loss to the Marlins or Sox win this weekend makes the Sox the host if they play each other. Sox also were eliminated from 1-seed consideration tonight.
  4. Magic #s: Twins: Sox 3, Indians 1 White Sox: Twins 4, Indians 3 ( been like that for a while!) Indians: Twins 6, Sox 4
  5. Fangraphs percentages for Division win, 2nd place, Wildcard: Twins- 51.1, 46.8, 2.1 White Sox- 46.8, 32.1, 21.1 Indians- 2.1, 21.1, 76.8
  6. It really is bad. 8 teams are going home after 3 days. Why even bother? Even division stuff is meh. AL Champs, minimum, to buy merch.
  7. Bottom line (watching too much Big Frank)... If the Sox win two games next week, It's "what were we worried about?", If they lose two games next week, it's, "Well, there were a lot of positives this season, and we have the resources to address some of the holes we clearly have". That said, win a game tonight.
  8. Yes, beat the Cleveland Indians tonight. Come home, and sweep the Cubs. Finish hot!
  9. TB 37-20 (7) Oak 34-21 (6) Min 35-22 (4) Sox 34-22 NY 32-24 (2) Hou 28-28 Cle 32-24 (3) Tor 29-27 Tor at TB; NY at Sox Cle at Oak; Hou at Min
  10. Official now. Sox host Yankees, at the end of play tonight. Keep going, maybe we can make it to Oakland next week.
  11. After the Twins win, the Sox and Twins will both have a Magic Number of 4 on each other. Twins -3 vs Cin Sox- 1 at Cle, 3 vs Cubs
  12. One last turn around the rotation starts tonight. For as bad as the first turn was in late July, we need some quality starts to end it. A nice 4-1 win tonight. Madrigal with the big hit. Let’s go!
  13. I just want to see good baseball before next Tuesday. Baseball is weird, but I don’t see the Sox flipping the switch next week if they suck all this week.
  14. The magic number goes down by one with every Sox win and every Twins loss, so yes.
  15. Tiebreakers go to... Sox/Min...White Sox Sox/Cle...Indians Min/Cle...Twins Twins are a half game back, but they have to win it outright, so it’s really like they’re 1.5 back. Sox just need to take care of their own wins. Tonight would be a good confidence builder.
  16. Fangraphs has the Sox at 68.1% to win the division.
  17. If the Dodgers don't blow a 4-run lead on the A's... TB 36-20 (7) Sox 34-21 Oak 33-21 (6) Min 34-22 (4) NY 32-23 (4) Hou 28-27 Cle 31-24 (3) Tor 28-27 Tor at TB; NY at MIn Cle at Sox; Hou at Oak
  18. Quite frankly, that’s what’s missing for me. These games suck, but it really doesn’t hurt in the usual baseball way. And conversely, the last Twins win last week would have been that much more enjoyable.
  19. Wasn’t it over 90% winning the division the day the Sox clinched the playoff spot? Now what is it?
