I see both sides of the issue, but the game is played and managed by human beings. Tingler coming from the Rangers org, gave the take sign. If Tatis missed it because it didn’t cross his mind that he would be given the take sign, that’s one thing. If he ignored it, he messed up. On the other hand, in this run scoring environment, go ahead and hit when you can. I’d draw the line at stealing a base when you’re up huge.

His manager gave him the take sign on 3-0 up 7 runs in the 8th. Nothing wrong with that. Tatis hit a grand slam. Great, it worked out for him. But hitting 3-1 is still a good count to hit, or you get the rbi walk.

I’d say that too, but would they just go by everyone’s winning percentage at the end, and some teams play 54, some 57, some 60? Because just forfeiting their games isn’t fair either. At this point, the Cardinals may just have to try to squeeze in 50 games, and MLB may have to make a decision on their postseason eligibility on how they would qualify.
