  1. There is rowdy fans at every stadium. I saw the Sox play the Mariners earlier this year at the Cell. Some drunk Mariners fans were screaming at Sox fans, spilling beer all over themselves, and just making complete asses of themself. I do not think the majority of Sox fans are rowdy. I go to games, keep score, and watch and enjoy every second of it.
  2. The funniest thing about Armando Rios is he is complaining about playing time. Kenny Williams did a great job bringing new guys in this year, Loaiza and Daubach. But Rios is a joke.
  3. If DJ would have gone 3 for 4 with a HR, and no errors, Jerry wouldn't look like a goof, and DJ wouldn't look like he 'sucks' so much. Thick and thin, I'm behind Jerry and DJ as long as there home is the Cell.
  4. You can dream don't worry. But, I agree about Cotts. Keep him. I've seen Sox mess up trading wrong young talent too early (Fogg and Biddle especially). We should have gotten Jose Cruz Jr., who can play all 3 OF positions, as a FA at beginning of the season.
  5. Which teams who can afford hime can get him? Sox, Cubs, Orioles, Giants (Aurillia is a FA after season), and who else. Dodgers don't want anymore payroll, most teams can't afford him. I'd like to see the article.
  6. I wouldn't chance that straight-up. We could try a huge move and bring Giles over with Benson. A deal like Loaiza, Lee, Jimenez for Benson and Giles or something like that. Help me out I can't think of any other deal for Giles.
  7. What are the odds of the Sox getting him as a FA after this year. Yanks and Red Sox are set. So are heavy spending Rangers. Sox should show some interest.
  8. Who do you think we could get for pennies then?
  9. He has to be the ace on the Pads too. Here, he would not have the same expectations. I think he could relax here and be a nice number 3.
  10. Ichiro, are you kidding. He is a Mariner for life. We all know that.
  11. Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I'd perfer Ponson too. But, it seems the O's are asking way too much for Sidney. Everyone is saying how Loaiza's season may be a fluke. I remember seeing Ponson struggle for so long. Ponson would be a great number 3 starter.
  12. No, Tejada is most underrated SS in the game. Yeah, I know he has an MVP, but he'll make the AS game because the AL will only take 2 second basemen.
  13. Leadoff hitter...our answer is Luis Castillo and we all know that.
  14. Fossum is on DL, don't know when he come off. The pitcher not have to be from the Red Sox. What about bringing Sterling Hitchcock, only if Yanks pay much of his $$, or Weaver? What about one of the young Padres pitchers: Eaton, Peavy, or even Lawrence?
  15. We could pick a starter up somewhere else. It was brought up to trade Loaiza here, and thats the best thing I could see getting for him.
  16. Yeah, Trot Nixon is lefthanded. I don't think he could play CF, though. I would be more comfortable with Mags in CF than Trot. And about defense, we obviously take offense over defense. We could get someone in the offseason for everyday CF next year, but I think he could work for this year.
  17. The problem I see with bringing Castillo over, and oh boy I would love to see him here, is who would we give the Marlins? I imagine that either Willie Harris or D'Angelo Jimenez would be part of the deal. Everyone is so down on DJ right now, but I have been much more impressed with DJ than Willie since they came up last year.
  18. You talk about trading Loaiza, and your second trade doesn't even involve him. What about Loaiza and Rios for Trot Nixon. You can move Mags to CF, and Nixon would add a lefthanded bat. There is no way you'll get alot of Loaiza even with what he has done this season.
  19. The Sox would be silly to pick up a CF who is not a big pickup. No bigtime CF's are really available though. I am content with Aaron Rowand and Willie Harris sharing time in CF. Rowand has actually startd hitting, who knew. 2 HR in last 2 games.
  20. I do remember the huge fight between the Sox and Tigers a few years ago. But, if Weaver could get back to the way he pitched with the Tigers, I would gladly take him. I am not sure what we would do with Danny Wright, but I think Weaver could do better than Jon Garland in the fourth spot of the rotation. Weaver is only 26 years old. You could use Wright or even Garland as some trade bait. Personally though, I would rather not get Weaver and pick up a middle-of-the-order lefthanded bat. I can live with the rotation we have now. I would rather have Ponson than Weaver too.
