  1. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 08:19 PM) I still feel like Stoney throwing up a rubber band of hundreds deserves more attention. I think that was just Hawks that he put on the table
  2. Alright let's get some f***ing runs and give the ball to Addison.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 08:17 PM) I'd go with this lineup right now: De Aza Gillaspie Rios Konerko Dunn Ramirez Viciedo Keppinger Alomar Jr. I'm ok with this. I do hate how Viciedo is just such a vortex of suck that he fits nowhere in this lineup
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 08:09 PM) At what point do you movie Keppinger down in the order? Not arguing. Who hits second? Also, watching Stone trying to figure out the cube might be more entertaining than this team right now.
  5. So I'm buzzed.... do these adds suck or just kind of fun bad?
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 06:56 PM) Even if his ceiling is fifth starter in baseball, that has some value in this day and age. I'm not high on Santiago myself, but at least his ceiling is higher than a 5. It's real simple, who is the better player?
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 06:51 PM) You are right, it is no different. Active rooting for failure is amongst the dumbest things to be hoping for in sports, no matter what sport it is. We aren't even talking about tanking in September for a draft pick or something. We are talking about having a prospect fail, so another prospect can step in? Quit watching. Seriously, just find another hobby. Axelrod isn't a prospect.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 06:47 PM) Still. It makes zero sense to be rooting for someone to fail in April. In all seriousness, if people really believe crap like that, they need to quit watching baseball. Just walk away, because you are missing the entire point. Observing that a below average pitcher is below average isn't negative. It's being realistic.
  9. I was making oatmeal.... did I hear Hawk discussing win expectancy?
  10. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 06:21 PM) With this team it won't hurt. I dont think, say, an Astros type rebuild helps attendance at all. Fact of the matter is this franchise is facing that in the next few years. But this franchise isn't that popular to draw decent numbers and rebuild. Hell most teams can't.
  11. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 06:20 PM) Nothing helps ticket sales more than threatening many years of terrible play. Yeah, but it's worked for the Cubs! /sarcasm
  12. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 06:16 PM) They need to to put the annual word out that if this slow start continues this team will be broken up. Not for the players to play better, but for the fans to gain a little faith in the organization. I don't think the threat of a fire sale will help future ticket sales.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 10:47 PM) This is not meant to inflame anybody. I was studying Kepp's stats from the past. Is this guy really a starter at the big league level? Seems like a super sub type guy to me. The at bats have been poor. To his credit the fact that he can play a couple different positions helps this club out a lot, considering the rest of the bench.
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 10:03 PM) 4-2 start at home, Sox looked pretty good. 4 losses in a row on the road Sox looked pretty bad. Does it suck ? Yes it do ! But I don't see anything besides the hitting with RISP and OBP that has been terrible. Ok those are 2 pretty big things. I guarantee the hitting with RISP will improve . We suck at taking walks so not much hope there. Now you might say the defense looks bad but has it cost the team much if at all ? Starting pitching's been OK . Relievers not bad at all. Played the Nat's well. Kept the games close. Tigers got swept in the World Series and the Nats might be there this year so no shame in losing 3 in a row in their ball park. Now losing 1-0 tonight sucked. Quintana pitched his ass off. Even Sale would be hard pressed to match 7 innings, 1 hit, no walks and 7 K's. Lots of Sox hitters struggled but it's not like it was Chen out there who sucks against everyone but the Sox. Masterson's been on fire since his first start. He's 3-0 now with a 0.69 ERA . I might not post a lot so some of you might not have a feel for my general over all attitude. So here it is. I'm about as die-hard as you can get. When I say die-hard that means I will not fret over losses early in the season. I will not die nor pronounce the Sox dead after a 4-6 start to the season. I look at the good things happening and think the bad things will turn around but not unreasonably so as witnessed by what I said about our OBP. So chin up ,have a stout heart and die hard. I just don't think they're that good. I think they're ~.500 team. And that's being positive. I know, SSS but Keppinger has K'd a lot more so far than I thought he would. They will struggle to get on base and catch the ball all year. That's not a good combination.
  15. Should be up at least 3 to 2. Hooray situational hitting
  16. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:35 PM) He only hustles when he's trying to show someone up ...not sure if serious
  17. Now that we have seen the scrappy strike zone just wait 4 innings to hear Hawk being shocked and b****ing
  18. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:22 PM) Yeah, my wrist gets sore after I strike out too. What you did there, I see it
  19. Wow I thought that ball was 5 rows deep when it left the bat
  20. For those that missed... Beckham injured his wrist striking out
  21. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:09 PM) I recall two rather big home runs over the first week of the season... Arguing semantics I admit, but it was a tie game. If Viciedo makes an out on Sunday doesn't mean the Sox lose.
