  1. Holy s%*#. Grab a sock and wipe your chin.
  2. Getz needs to Getz....He just needs to Getz fired from a position he was never remotely qualified for in the 1st place.
  3. Magic was '79. The Bulls lost the coin flip to the Lakers for the #1 pick that year. Bird would've been 2nd, but the NBA had "draft and follow" rules back then and drafted Bird in '78 and signed him the night before the '79 draft. Just another layer to how lucky JR was to have Jordan land in his lap.
  4. Just another Getzy failure. Weird....
  5. You are correct that they addressed a lot of holes. The reality is they still have a 4th place roster in the division. Maybe Caleb shows something and they can draft well to set themselves up for 26-27.
  6. He's played all 3 interior spots. Good news is he knows the system and cannot be worse than what was on the field last year. Bad news is the Bears had to give up a pick and pay $17.5 million to let the Rams out of their mistake. The Bears should've been getting a pick and the Rams eating salary.
  7. I don't agree with this. If Jerry has a side deal to sell new shares then he needs to make the current group "whole". Telling the current holders to sell at $1.8B valuation isn't doing that, when he's on record that it will be worth twice that much in 2 years. I still think someone was misquoted (Reifort talking out of his ass again) and Ishbia is just buying out all the rest of the investors (maybe including Mellody).
  8. I really don't care what Scott has to say. Limited Partners actually have a say. I get some of it depends on the covenants of the original deal, but Jerry needs to prove that he's not he's not issuing shares at an underpriced level and instead is issuing at an overpriced amount (and that he's smarter than everyone else - literally saying he knows more). He better have Mellody on board....
  9. Why would they be diluted? Unless they're buying in with a cash infusion. I know Jerry is Czar, but there would be lengthy litigation if he tried to bring in an outside buy-in and kneecap the current investors.
  10. Jerry owned land (something like 200 acres ) near Lake St./Swift. They were in negotiations to purchase the rest from Medinah and whoever was in charge of that unincorporated area (maybe you're referring to that "good 'ol boy/Medinah club" with a Jerry crony). It was part of talks with the building of 355 back in the day.
  11. They're already a HIGHLY profitable team. JR is going to bank $100M+ this year. Your point of their own stupidity and stubbornness still applies.
  12. I think you meant JuJu and not MVS. Buffalo was a more explosive offense last year. Coleman was fine for a rookie, but they didn't have the same big plays from the WR group. They did win the turnover battle, but KC matched them on the ground and I don't think most people thought that would happen.
  13. Pat Fitzgerald seems about perfect for the Bears.
  14. Yeah, I thought we were talking Hyeseong and not Ha-Seong.
  15. We are hot garbage for the next 3 years, at a minimum. Getz will have pulled a Getz if they cannot develop a utility guy over that time with what is already in house or drafted in the future.
  16. And debt service, stock options, Battery Park development, ect.
  17. I'd suggest looking up the Braves 10K's, it's all public knowledge. You'll need to wait until roughly 3/31/25 to see 2024 numbers. It's common knowledge that the White Sox have $200M+/yr without selling one ticket/parking pass/beer, ect.
  18. I know where Caulfield got his numbers and maybe the Sox were bottom two in revenue, but they most certainly took in well over, WELL OVER, $300M in revenue. They get over $200M without lifting a finger or a butt in the seat. I'd be good if that went back into the "cookie jar", but it goes straight to Jerry's fat ass wallet and is never to be used again.
  19. Merrill is also more than a year younger.
  20. Jerry will come back and cry poor no matter what. I don't want Vaughn or Jose, but it's not like that's going into a "piggy bank" to use down the road. Any and all savings, on a yearly basis, are going into JR's pocket. Yes, I would want to sign as many former/younger/failed "prospects" as possible and hope to hit lighting in a bottle and then trade them for a Lotto ticket. Getz sucks at trades so does it really matter? I guess the best hope is Getz becomes better at trades or I'd just rather JR eat the loss. And by "loss", I mean less of a profit.
  21. You forgot Getz signed two 1B/DH types for 40% of their budget (who sucked and are not crazy young for the DSL). Jerry will sell the remaining allotment for cash in his pocket.
  22. Good deal for a gadget guy (he can't run the route tree - a quick screen or fly). WR market is crazy.
  23. Yes. Burns put himself on the auction block last year and wanted $1M to transfer. Wake ponied up and he transferred. And then he got over $9M in a signing bonus for being drafted #2. I'd bet on myself all day if I wasn't a top pick. I'd rather collect some $ and go to Wake than spend 3 years tooling around in Akron for the Guardians.
  24. Just curious? What would someone like Rainer or Griffin get in terms of NIL money playing in the SEC (Texas, LSU)? Is it really possible to go under slot on a top HS guy? I get Chase Burns was 'established' , but was rumored to be offered $1M for a year at LSU.
  25. He made his own bed (no pun intended). I can't get rid of the image of Yoan, Eloy and Robert getting paid generational wealth and taking a siesta for half the season.
