  1. I'm not sure what you take offense too. My second sentence is fact. Sure, the rest is opinion.
  2. Not a fan. Fields quit on his HS team and quit on his college team when he couldn't beat out Fromm (which says a ton). This smells a lot like Trubisky, who couldn't beat out someone who was a scrub. It was Fields' first action, so I give a little leeway, but he was beyond terrible against anyone who would play this year.
  3. No, I said old or naive. One could be old and out of touch or one could be naive was my intention. And there's nothing "archaic" about stating that 17 XBH in 250 AB's is abysmal.
  4. Nah, 17 XBH in half a season with brutal defense is fucking pathetic no matter how how old or naive you are.
  5. I'm not pining for McCann, but Grandal has been a huge disappointment. Maybe I'm too old and stuck in the mud, but a .188 average with 17 total XBH on the season and brutal defense doesn't equate to some made up stat that says he's elite.
  6. Take your "closet cub fan" bullshit and shove it up your ass.
  7. Is Gabe Kapler "old school"? He didn't have a problem with his hitter swinging away at 2-0, up 19-4 in the 9th, against a positional player pretending to be a pitcher.
  8. How about TLR following the same rules?
  9. What an anchor this team needs to carry around on a daily basis.
  10. This is garbage. The FO wasn't able to look for their guy because our dumbass owner wanted to try and fix what he thinks was a wrong committed decades ago and hire his drunk and senile friend.
  11. Joe Burrow transferred because Dwayne Haskins was named the starter. Fields was still at Georgia when Burrow transferred.
  12. Exactly, he quit on his team. And then couldn't beat out Fromm. He's mentally soft, IMO.
  13. Just using your post as point of reference. Their numbers are public and anyone can gather a reasonable estimate of how much revenue is coming in the door by looking at the Braves' financials. And you can go way back and look at when the Indians were public and how much money they took home when every owner was crying poor. The other factor is how much JR is playing games with funneling dollars thru Comcast. The White Sox have made hand over fist cash profits forever and that doesn't include the $X equity increase (and yes, that Forbes estimate is way low IMO).
  14. Not really. They end up playing Monday the first "weekend" and Mon-Tues the 2nd "weekend".
  15. Wait, what? I think Grandal's defense is a bit overrated, but Collins is going to relegate him to backup catcher status by next year? The Kool-Aid is flowing....
  16. Can't spend a $1 when you don't have $.50......
  17. I did read what you said and that was that teams would be going “belly up” before we know it. Sorry, but I LOL at that comment. You also stated that rather than JR spending $30M on payroll that you would prefer he use those funds to finance (thus keeping his current profit margins) a cheaper ballpark experience.
  18. LOL, nobody is going under. And you're advocating that JR should have made a massive payroll reduction this year so that the cost of a game is cheaper? Maybe you should think about going to Kane County if you want a cheaper experience.
  19. Maybe the ship has sailed because the Dodgers platooned him for the last 6 years, but he more than held his own against lefties in the minors. I'm guessing this was a TLR/Kenny move because Adam is considered grindy/gritty. It's not a horrific miss, but still a swing and a miss.
  20. Eric Cressey was in charge of his rehab and ran the workout the other day. He also has a "complex" in MA, where Kluber calls home. Cressey is also an employee of the Yankees. MLB Hot Stove reported all this the other day and the writing was on the wall.
  21. Who are they cutting? They're already over the cap without Robinson. Nah, the Packers have a better roster even taking out the qb's.
