  1. I'd rather have Lee up so they bat Quero/Teel everyday, but whatever. They could bat them everyday, but Venable/Getz seem adverse to possibly being exposed for using a PH in the remote chance one get(z) hurt.
  2. Yes. My bad. That was a really good team(s) that JIm coached. The one that just committed to Tennessee.
  3. I said I liked/loved the pick. I never said a red flag. I can understand skepticism. This is a franchise, under Jerry, that drafts daughters and son's and promotes within. You're good with Getz because they know him?
  4. Yes, the Cangelosi Sparks. Thome's kid Jacob and Jaden were teammates there and also at Nazareth. Again, I don't have a problem with the pick, but with the history of nepotism in the franchise and how the White Sox contribute to the Sparks.
  5. I'm not targeting you with this post - I'm just piggybacking off of it. I do really like/love the pick, but Fauske does have the 'taint" of the past regime. Let's just be real, they don't have the best track record. Again, I really like the pick, but when you're dipping into the Cangelosi pool there's going to be reservations. And heaven forbid Jacob is picked at 2.2 next year.
  6. I'm not saying pass on him, but if somehow Doyle were there I'd take him. And I'd still take Carlson over Jojo since he won't be a SS. Splitting hairs here, but maybe Griffin is the current #1 prospect out of the 2024 draft, but he's not the #1 overall prospect.
  7. Hoping for Carlson. I know JoJo did well on the summer circuit last year, but there's no competition in Miss and that track record of those kids scares me. I don't want Irish and if Doyle or Arnold fell, they would be better options than Hall/Cunningham (IMO). Hall is an elite athlete that will stay at short, but can we develop the hit tool (and make him passable with power)? Cunningham won't stick at SS, but he can hit.
  8. No they don't look more at bWAR, most know that's, by far, the lesser of the two when compared to fWAR (for pitching). I would use RA9-WAR if using a single stat, but that's not a good idea either. xFIP is good too, but there's no single 'stat' that tells you how good somebody is.
  9. This is why people b**** more about Vargas than Sosa (I know you didn't complain about that). We spent $325K on some 16 YO Cuban kid with Sosa. It's a win that he's here even if he wouldn't be, at this point, for a reasonably decent team. We traded a good chip for Vargas. That's a massive whiff.
  10. Maybe, but I think that was just speculation/jealousy. I'm sure Jimmy saw him since it was Lockport that knocked them out of the playoffs (Schultz didn't pitch). He's a Cangelosi guy and was handled right.
  11. He's local for me and I've seen him plenty (non-pro). He's been treated with kid gloves (not faulting it and I wouldn't want to be the one to wreck that arm either) his entire career. Yes, mono kept him out most of his last HS season.
  12. I agree with everything you've said.
  13. You might be able to cancel some early season games the day/hours before due to cold/snow. It's a Jerry Special because they know that they're already on the hook for a couple of hours (workers only get paid for hours worked - not expected shift). So might as well milk the cow.
  14. Agreed, but he's (Elias) already pissed away a 1st window by hoarding his prospects like they were his 1st born. This latest trade leaves them with 4 of the 1st 37 picks and 7 in the 1st 93.
  15. I assumed this post was in jest. I can't see him getting 3/$20M let alone $20M per for 3 years.
  16. I don't think there's anything too little. I agree with the premise, but there's no reason to watch him for the next 2 months. Jerry isn't going to sign him to a Fedde deal and I don't think we should. Houser has done his job and now it's up to Getz (and staff) to find someone they think can be fixed/developed. I haven't scoured all the systems, but the Phillies keep coming up as a match for Robert and I keep thinking package Robert/cash/Houser for Burkholder. Maybe that's just a pipe dream for me.
  17. I don't think they should fire Getz now or at the end of the year. I pretty much think Getz doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground, but he is making changes so let it ride and hope to see if some of it sticks. His replacement at this time will just be another stooge. I'm guessing we stay uncompetitive until Ishbia takes over. And then the hope is he hires someone who keeps anything tangible and burns the rest to the ground and starts over.
  18. Not to nitpick and I wouldn't actually call Buehrle and Ventura generational talents, but Robin's career WAR (either one) is right there with Shammy and Mark is currently ahead of Sale too (either one or RA9-WAR).
  19. He absolutely hotdogged that triple. He would have had an ITPHR had he hustled. He had a great series, but busting ass on the bases wasn't one of good looks.
  20. I see you're still waiting on that apology. I'm sorry! Getz still sucks. Yes, max effort every pitch isn't good for the arm.
  21. This s%*# of rotating Quero and Teel everyday needs to stop. One catches and the other DH's every single fucking day. Get rid of Slater/Tauchman/Capra/Rojas and bring up a 3rd catcher. For the love of God, our former leader of player development is on the shortest of buses.
  22. I'm fine with Baldwin. Colson shouldn't be up before September. Brooks has nothing to prove at AAA. Colson needs to prove it for more than 4 games (or four weeks without me being too much of a smartass).
  23. Probably Burkholder for both, if we're lucky.
