  1. The soldier field/sox park refinanced bonds expire in 2023. After that the state would “make money” with any lease extension, even at the current terms.
  2. In an alternate universe, the bulls owned by wirtz/hunt/steinbrenner don't win 6 championships over 8 years.
  3. I have TVs from 2007 and 2015. I just put the $20 fire stick on them and let er rip
  4. Are you in market? MLB.tv may be your friend.
  5. Jerseys are Nike branded but produced by fanatics.
  6. The irony is that most of these new offering won’t be sampled by average fans. these are mostly levy offerings for premium seating.
  7. Let’s not forget Jerry’s kids are still buying shares of the club from other investors.
  8. I doubt twins fans are happy to hear that Joe wants to be involved after the sale.
  9. The ratings in Japan were massive. And mlb is positioning global rights media deals as it expands viewership internationally. MLB having the largest inventory of live games is a blessing and a curse. You can’t compare it to them other leagues.
  10. I keep thinking that the feds were wrong to force Disney to sell the Fox RSNs. ESPN could have easily absorbed the stations and even cut costs without dumping teams.
  11. Cuba can’t risk the loss of that sweet sweet tv money. They gotta pay off those biblical losses!
  12. It didn’t hurt that they had an actual good staff to Develop the minor League system. Getz got a F plus for that job.
  13. Tommy boy gets an A for putting more money in the trust fund that not only owns the cubs but that he is a beneficiary of.
  14. these projects where private business gets public money always tout the jobs. the short term construction jobs plus the "permanent" jobs after the fact. yes, sox park has more seasonal day of game staff than full time posts, but 1000 or more people working is still better than none. in the case of the 78 proposal, we're also looking at the halo effect of related business on the site providing jobs as well.
  15. he's doing reinsdorf's bidding. location was just fine when they sold almost 3 million tickets without the dan ryan operating AT ALL for two full seasons. yes, there was a world series halo, but that team also won 90 games. and the 90 loss team in 2007? 2.67 million fans with the same lack of superhighway access.
  16. if he had stayed in baseball, i suspect he would have been in AAA in 1995, with a chance to crack the big league club that fall or in 1996. jerry would have loved to sell season ticket packhages with MJ's face on the schedule and media guide.
  17. Jerry said back in 2003 he thought Jordan would be a fourth outfielder type if he stayed. But Jerry also wanted Jordan to cross a picket line during the strike in 1995. So that killed any chance of Jordan playing in the league. That said, other baseball types including his AA manager Terry Francona said he would have made it. But no prediction on high the ceiling on him was.
  18. that's BS. they were charging MUCH more for CSN/NBCsn before you even factor in marquee.
  19. and now it's back to rabbit ears and less than 20k viewers.
  20. and how did you solve the audio only problem?
