  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) They should bring in someone with ties to the city league and just open up a pipeline of kids that want to stay in the city and bang lincoln park trixies Where do I sign up?
  2. Nick Punto signed a one year deal with the Cardinals.
  3. Western Conference: Duncan Gasol Westbrook Griffin Ginobili Nowitzki Deron Williams
  4. Eastern Conference All-Star Reserves: Bosh Horford J. Johnson 4 Boston Celtics Edit: Just added link
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 05:05 PM) Andruw Jones-like deal. Was Andruw Jones a minor-league deal?? I thought his deal put him on the 25-man.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) The combination of baggage and a career .723 OPS. Either the "baggage" is keeping his OPS at .723 or he's just not as talented as everyone hypes him up to be.
  7. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 04:04 PM) I hope he gets a haircut and mashes all season while providing all star caliber defense. What if he mashes all season & plays great D, but doesn't cut his hair? Will you still be happy?
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 03:23 PM) Roids seem to equal a "no" in that department. It's funny how he's one of the players that people have kinda "forgot" about the whole roids issue, as opposed to other guys. I'm sure it has a lot to do with his immediate admission, while his buddy Roger made a spectacle out of it all.
  9. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) I gave his Wikipedia page a quick read. It mentioned that the other players didn't like that he high-fived some fans on his way back into the field after hitting a big home run, and that it caused some of the veterans to give him s*** for it. Sounds pretty weak to me. I don't know if baggage is the right word, but there has to be a reason why 3 different teams gave up on all that supposed talent so quickly. (Sounds kinda like Edwin Jackson, lol)
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 01:11 PM) Ok, so which forum member is Kenny? Kenny hates Prospects
  11. Milledge will easily be the most talented player battling for the 4th OF spot. Will he be able to keep his head together and play well to stay on the roster all year? That remains to be seen.
  12. Michael Kay (Yankees play-by-play guy) is reporting that Andy Pettitte will retire tommorrow. That's a huge, huge blow for the Yankees. Even with him, their rotation was a question mark, now its that much worse.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 09:54 AM) I have yet to see a public transit system that didn't struggle with this problem. I wish I knew the answer, because I'd be a rich-assed consultant. Very true. Especially with Metra, which has numerous stations that are all outside without even an office, it's definitely not an easy task.
  14. I don't know what/if they could have done better or differently, but Metra is really getting their ass kicked by the storm. From all the delays/changes/cancellations, to the s***ty job they did informing people, they are not having a good week.
  15. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Feb 2, 2011 -> 07:54 PM) WTF Indiana? They didn't rush the court again did they? QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 2, 2011 -> 10:23 PM) Every team that has traveled in this storm has lost, most of them to bad teams. The storm is still no excuse for Michigan State to get routed vs. Iowa. Losing a close game is one thing, but that was an ass kicking. They appear to be in straight free fall mode.
  16. @sportsguy33 In person, Rose is like a young Marbury but faster/taller/more explosive. I've never seen a PG like him in person before. He's illegal.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) Then move to California. Nothing starts after 8. Hawaii basketball & football games?
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 2, 2011 -> 05:14 PM) I didn't read all of those posts in the last few pages but I see y'all talking about LSD - I don't know what the city has to apologize for here. Yes it was a clusterf*** but what else could they do? People ask "why didn't they plow LSD?" I'm pretty sure every plow the city had was in use somewhere important. Why didn't they shut it down? I don't know... but that traffic has to go somewhere else. Plus it wasn't like it was a secret there was a historic blizzard on the way, and LSD is notoriously unstable. 25 feet waves off the lake and whatnot. Blizzards are considered emergency conditions for a reason. I agree. It's one of the main roads for people leaving the loop and going north/south. The entire city left work early and tried to get home, closing the road early would have caused trouble elsewhere. They warned people all f***ing day and planned on closing it after rush hour. It was just bad luck that there were 3 bad accidents close together in a half hour span, including a stalled CTA bus that blocked all the lanes. If it wasnt for that bus, I don't think its anywhere near as bad. And they had to keep the bus running to get people home from work.
  19. Finally finished watching season 5 of the Wire. Great show, its always nice watching those type of shows all at once on DVD, instead of having to wait a week for each episode.
  20. Ugh, my arms & legs are so f***ing sore. I think I got used to condo living and never having to shovel. My street is plowed and they did the alley around noon (making a 4 foot pile of snow along my garage door), so it looks like back to work tommorow for both of us. That was a fun storm, for once it lived up to the Chicago hype machine.
  21. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Feb 1, 2011 -> 11:44 PM) A friend of mine left work on the south side at 3. She lives in the Uptown area, she's STILL on lake shore. ps. Waiting on that e-mail from my internship saying that the office will be closed. Think this pic was taken around 10 or 11ish.
  22. QUOTE (since56 @ Feb 1, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) Thought he would sign with the Twins or Tigers and come back and kill us 18 times a year. Gardenhire & Leyland are not dumb enough to let him play every day. He would kill us 3, maybe 4 times a year. Although, the donuts he would bring to the Twins or Tigers, might hurt us all year, I really hope Dunn has the same donut bringing skill.
  23. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Feb 1, 2011 -> 07:32 PM) I hate to break it to you but this man is probably a gang member. LOL, did he usually wear a Raiders hat too?
