  1. 2006: Trade struggling reliever Marte to NL 2011: Trade struggling reliever Linebrink to NL
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) That's Bill James? Nope, Bill Jenkinson. He ranks Dunn as the top distance home run hitter in the game today.
  3. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 01:04 PM) The first thing Guillen did last offseason was to go to KW and get Kotsay resigned. I know that Ozzie did. Are you sure he went to KW? It might have been one of the other rotating GMs?
  4. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 01:00 PM) The best part of the Cowley thing was that he was on the SCORE talking about how Olivio was looking to have a good shot and AJ was gone.....what a douche. This morning he was defending the Ozeroo's decision to go with the rotating GM. His point was that it was an organizational move not a OG move. I thought it was obvious that KW was allowing OG to try this way of doing things. I guess I could have been wrong..... It must have been one of the other rotating GMs that decided to keep Kotsay last year, not Kenny.
  5. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 12:59 PM) A Major Leauge source said the #Braves will receive $1.5 million from the White Sox to help account for Linebrink's $5.5 mil. salary. According to @mlbbowman Sounds great to me. That more than pays for AJ this season. Good work KW, whats next?
  6. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 12:23 PM) I still cannot believe ANY team would take Liney for his full 5.5 or whatever it is this year. I'm not buying it, we'll have to swallow some salary...I hope I am wrong This.
  7. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 11:14 AM) Can we make it a 3-way trade and send the chicken over to me for lunch? What are you gonna give up?
  8. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 10:05 AM) Who died? i head something about a death, but i didnt hear them say who. I believe it was his daughter in law.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) It would be cool to see him come out on a donkey pulled cart. or with an American flag on his back with "Real American" playing in the background. Somebody e-mail Brooks Boyer!
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 09:35 AM) I believe Kenny Powers is available. YOU'RE f***ING OUT!!!!!
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 08:42 PM) Is there anywhere that has been a bigger disaster for expansion in sports than the state of Florida? Pretty much every single major sport has at least one team in Florida that failing to some extent or another. Never gonna beat college football & NASCAR down there.
  12. B & B should be an interesting listen this afternoon.
  13. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 08:15 AM) I'd like to see the Sox take a flyer on Lastings Milledge since he was non tendered by the Pirates and will only be 26 at the beginning of the 2011 season. He was the 12th overall pick in the year he was drafted and could still blossom and he plays a decent RF and has good speed. Shouldn't be expensive. No thanks. I know the kid is talented but there is a reason why he has bounced around from team to team. Not worth the trouble.
  14. Some 1st baseman in St. Louis is the only player in the majors with more homers than Adam Dunn since 2004.
  15. RIP Mr. Santo. Listening to the Cubs lose on the radio won't be the same without you.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) I think Sale is much more valuable to the bullpen at the moment. He's likely to hurt himself as a starter. Plus, if Putz isn't back, he'd have to be the setup man or closer. This seems to be an unpopular opinion on the board right now, but I agree 100%. He has plenty of time to prove his draft status as a starter. Right now this team can use him as a reliever, especially since the top guy in the pen is a lefty as well. I'm sure it would be better for his arm too.
  17. Heyman reporting that Angels & BoSox offered Mo Rivera 3 years, but he is close to signing 2 year, $30 mil deal with the Yanks.
  18. So with a two-year deal does this officially end any chances of Tyler Flowers having a career in Chicago? Or will he backup in 2012?
  19. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 10:15 PM) Wow Kansas gets bailed out by the refs. UCLA hit a 3 to tie it with less than 10 seconds. On Kansas' possession there was a loose ball and they called a foul that wasn't even a shooting foul on UCLA with less than a second to go. That's terrible. That was pretty awful. Two guys run into each other on a loose ball with 0.7 seconds left and the home team gets the call. Ugh, but the streak is alive.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) LaRoche is a bit too inconsistent for my liking over the course of an entire season (I'd take him at the deadline though). Plus, his defense kind of sucks. Plus, we already have a lefty at 1b/DH, C, LF. I don't know if we would need another power lefty bat anyway.
  21. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) And THAT is why you don't offer him arbitration, he would have gotten about $7M through arb and we just locked him up for a million more on a 2 year deal. This has been a very, very good day. ^^^^^^^^^
  22. Ken_Rosenthal Sources: Pierzynski back with #White Sox. Hearing deal is two years, $8 million, though that is unconfirmed. #MLB #BlueJays
  23. I leave the office for an hour, come back, press refresh, and boo-ya, ADAM f***ing DUNN!!!!!
  24. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 02:11 PM) big bat and very slow cant play D - Oney Guillen after several people asked him to reveal the signing. Jim Thome?
