Are the Sox trying to get no hit this season?
They are trying to make you hold your breath for as many days as possible
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 12:23 PM)
They haven't done anything this whole series.
Exactly, thats why they gotta step it up here. Not that I expect them to.
Porcello has been the Sox b**** this season, keep that s*** up today, make it an 8-2 road trip. If they can keep the deficit at 4-5 games back heading into next Tuesday, they at least will give themselves a chance to play their way back in the race.

I said it yesterday, but Teahen needs to go this offseason. He's just a terrible fit with this team, and is making way too much money for someone that doesn't appear to deserve to be starting.
maybe the Royals would trade us Josh Fields for Teahen??

Back in the good old days, Ozzie used to have a rule that if you asked out of a game one day for an injury, you had the next day off automatically, and I actually kind of liked that rule.
Isnt that kinda what happen to Paulie yesterday too?
QUOTE (11and1 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 01:29 PM)
That's true. Just like when he says, "No matter what, we will not let [insert former Sox slugger or current HR leader here] beat us." We then proceed to pitch to said slugger with two on and first base open. More often than not, game over.
And it doesn't even take courage to put a guy on. Just more brains than ego.
Wasn't Cabrera intentionally walked last night with one runner on and first base open? The game was over after that anyway.

He just hit a 3-run bomb a few minutes ago. Shack, Brian and Tony can kiss my buttocks (I mean that in a playful way). Carlos Gonzalez > life.
Joe Posnanski with a great analysis of the season and splits of J4L's man-crush.

If they keep up this pace and wind up with nearly 100 wins, we might well just have to tip our caps.
This. Since the All-Star Break, they have 3 different stretches with records of 10-1, 11-2, & 10-2 (right now).
There's not much you can do when a team plays that well down the stretch. Only the 11-2 record consisted of head to head games vs the Sox too. (4-2 Twins)
