  1. The Rays just intentionally walked MCab for the 3rd straight game with runners on 1st & 2nd. And for the 3rd straight game the move worked.
  2. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 12:14 PM) Does the Astros willingness to part with Oswalt suggest that they might be more likely to part with Berkman too? I don't think the Astros' willingness to part with him has been the issue. The problem is that he wants his $15 million option for next year picked up if traded, not to mention that he is kinda injured, old, and bad this year.
  3. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 10:57 AM) He's not having a spectacular year... he's just hit a lot of home runs. Having 4 more home runs than anyone else at the end of July is spectacular to me.
  4. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 10:49 AM) The Nationals placed him on the DL, retroactive to July 22nd. LOL, does anyone want to give me odds that Mark Prior will have a longer/better career than Strasburg??? I'm 50/50 whether or not that should be in green font
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 10:31 AM) Raul Ibanez is another guy whose struggling that might become available and could probably benefit from being able to DH a decent chunk. He's having a down year for the Phillies and if the Phillies get Oswalt they might need to free up a few million. Ibanez has turned it around somewhat in the last month. Victorino was just put on the DL, who will play LF everyday? Ben Francisco or Ross Gload? Plus, the Phillies are in win now mode and have been bringing in lots of revenue the past few years, I doubt they are worried about freeing up money right now. Ibanez is still owed $10 million next year, I sure as f*** don't wanna be paying him that either.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 06:55 AM) I can't see the Cubs theoretically helping the Sox out. Meh, I don't think they care that much about that stuff. They won't do it for free, but if the deal benefits the Cubs, they would do it. That being said, he's a solid pitcher and seems like a good guy, but I forsee lots of trouble for him pitching in the Cell, so no thanks.
  7. Now thats the Jenks we used to all love. Just throwing the gas and dropping that hammer to end it. I hope he has figured it out and can keep that s*** up.
  8. 0-2 count, this rookie is done. Smoak has been looking lost at the plate as it is
  9. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 10:03 PM) I dont know why but I feel a 3 k inning for Bobby 2 down, 1 to go
  10. Heading into the game Figgins was 4 for 30 career vs. MB. Make that 6-32 with a homer, ugh.
  11. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 04:48 PM) 150 games would be fine but in that case Id expand the first round to a 7 game series as well. The first round should be a 7 game series even with a 162 game season.
  12. Gotta love Bill Simmons: sportsguy33 Red Sox 7, Angels 3, heading into bottom of 9th. Game just hit the 3:38 mark. That's 878 sexual encounters with Rick Pitino.
  13. f***! so much for counting Detroit out, its a 3-team race again
  14. Cubs lose 2 of 3 to Houston for the 4th time this season. If those damn schedule makers wouldn't have put the 5th & 6th place NL Central teams on the Cubs schedule, they would be a .500 team today.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 03:41 PM) Rick Ankiel's back? You know it! They called him up from his rehab stint right about the same time that they announced HGH testing in the minors.
  16. Mr. HGH cuts it to a 5-4 lead, but Brayan Pena (who?) can't keep the rally going. On to the 9th
  17. "Ok, guys. We've won two games in a row. If we win tonight, its called a winning streak. IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE." - former Indians manager Lou Brown (1940-2010)
