  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) Ugh, and of course you bring up like the worst example ever. Aren't Jeter's playoff numbers pretty similar to his career numbers? I'm too lazy to look, but my belief was just that he has had so many post season opportunities that he just happens to be successful in those opportunities more than anyone else because of the sheer quantity of them. Jeter's reg. season OPS: .843 Playoff OPS: .863 A-Rod's regular season OPS: .961 Playoff OPS: .977
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) OMG I hate intangibles. That along with clutchness have decreased the IQ of sports fans by at least 30-40 points. Dan Bernstein co-signs this post
  3. Can you imagine Patrick Kane & Lindsay Lohan partying together???? Whoa!
  4. WojYahooNBA Y! Sources: Chris Paul leaves Octagon and will join LeBron James' marketing company, LRMR.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 11:53 AM) I bet they do. The Bulls with LeBron??? Hell yeah!

  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 11:35 AM) Well, quite frankly, if Lebron stays in Cleveland I think there is a lot of parody in the East. That should be pretty comedic
  8. JPosnanski Multiple sources telling me that LeBron is staying in Cleveland. Unfortunately, the sources are my invisible friends.
  9. Wait a second, this whole free agent frenzy is about Lebron James??? I thought it was about Ilya Kovalchuk????? Just sign somewhere already!!!!!

  11. I hazily (had a few Old Styles) remember walking out of Wrigley after Lilly's near no-no. If you told me that night the Sox would be in second place in a month, I would have knocked you in the mouth. I don't know if they will be good enough to win the division, but thank you so much for making it a season again! 2nd place!!
  12. Bill Simmons: Countdown to the LeBroncalypse
  13. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 07:20 AM) Marcin Gortat said on Polish TV today that there is a big chance he will be changing teams. TTFWIW One of my employees just asked me about that too, said he heard it on the radio. There has been talk about him to the Bulls.
  14. cst_sox Marquez said he was told he would work out of the bullpen for "a few days." Hudson is still on the radar for Sunday. MDGonzales Said surgery is likely, adding muscles and ligaments totally detached from bone
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:48 PM) I wasn't even referring to what Hudson is doing in Charlotte. I mean does anyone think he can come up and be as dominant as Jake's been looking over the last month or so and pitch deep into games on a regular basis? Unlikely. That is a good point. I think our bullpen is a strength on this team, so I hope they can handle the extra inning or two every turn of the rotation they might need to throw. The offense might need to hit a little more with Hudson on the mound than with Peavy too. I didn't say it was gonna be easier to win the division, but I don't think it's suddenly out of reach by any means.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) You're really not worried about the downgrade? It's the pitching that has been keeping us alive. A weakened rotation with a mediocre offense will most likely not win this division. But that's just my opinion. Below is what I said earlier in the thread, it definitely hurts us but doesn't put us out of the race. If JFP were to be out for the year, he would miss about 15 more starts. Realistically assuming the team goes 10-5 in games he starts, then as long as Hudson can hit the .500 mark, they would only lose a game or two in the standings. I know in this division one game has meant everything the last two years, but it can still be won. Losing a Rios or PK would hurt much more IMO.
  17. Come on Rock. The top recruit in the country wants to come to Miami, do you really think they will let something like running out of scholarships stop them from signing him????
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 12:09 PM) jgoff670 The word is that Lebron will show up with headbands instead of caps for his "Decision" Show. The corny-ness continues. WOW HES REALLY GOING TO F*CKING DO THIS Wow.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:45 AM) AdamZagoria "I think KG, Ray and Paul when they all went to the Celtics back in 07, they made that sacrifice and it worked out for them." -- Bosh Chris, you're an idiot. What sacrifice have they made and what sacrifices are you and Wade making? Did you just use the term "sacrifice" when Wade is going to get 130 million and you're going to get 100? WTF What a sacrifice. And didn't KG and Allen get traded to Boston??? Everyone brings them up, but they weren't free agents who took max contracts. They were in s***ty situations and were traded, completely different situations too.
  20. I saw Saunders two weeks ago at Wrigley on the Cubs were just smoking balls at all parts of the field. Then again, he shut down the Sox at the Cell in May. He still sucks.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:35 AM) Wade basically just said that Bosh drove him to Miami. I don't buy that s*** for a second. Wade, Chicago hates you now. Bulls***. Just tell the truth "Money talks, especially when you are getting divorced, so I went where I could get the most money, just like I had always planned on doing"
  22. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:24 AM) Don't know how people are looking at this as if they're picking between whether it's worse to have a key offensive player out or a key starting pitcher out? This is going to be a very tight division race for the next 2.5 months, with the Sox having the most difficult schedule among the three contenders and we'll need every single win we can get, so there's nothing positive about JFP being out for multiple weeks/starts the way he's been throwing If JFP were to be out for the year, he would miss about 15 more starts. Assuming the team goes 10-5 in games he starts, then as long as Hudson can hit the .500 mark, they would only lose a game or two in the standings. I know in this division one game has meant everything the last two years, but it can still be won. Losing a Rios or PK would hurt much more IMO.
