  1. Zumaya to the 15 day DL of course, MRI to be taken today.
  2. This is South America's tourney. 4 of their 5 teams make the final 8, and the 5th lost to a fellow CONMEBOL member. If you don't count the Brazil-Chile match, their teams have 13 wins, 4 draws, and only one loss.
  3. Chase Blackwood for Prince Fielder, would you do it?
  4. Ari Gold is what keeps me watching. Watching him talk s***, make deals, etc. is one of the few entertaining things left on the show.

  7. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 08:04 AM) I don't think a catching prospect would be incredibly appealing to them. I think they expect Bryce Harper to hit the big leagues pretty quickly. I'm pretty sure Harper has already been moved to the outfield.
  8. QUOTE (juddling @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 07:01 AM) That's nothing like the pitcher who broke his arm throwing a pitch. i'm thinking it was Dave Dravekcy(sp) some years back. i remember seeing the tape and actually being able to hear the arm break....still gives me the willies thinking about it I believe Tom Browning was another one. He was throwing a pitch and his arm just like came out of the socket and the ball went flying. I can't seem to find the video anywhere. I think he actually threw a perfect game earlier in his career too.
  9. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 07:27 AM) Traditionally, the 5th anniversary gift is wood. If you have access to tools you could make her something. These jokes write themselves....
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) He was also on roids. LOL, he was the poster child of guys that never got caught but were obviously roiding. From the age of 23-31, his highest HR total was 24, highest SLG% was .491 (age 24). At age 32, hits 37 homers, slugs .578. At age 34, hits 35 homers, slugs .535. Two years later, he slugged .350 and was out of baseball.
  11. This weekend was an improvement in Chicago though. Last weekend, there were 50 shootings, 8 deaths. That dropped to 30 shootings, and only 3 deaths the past weekend.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 09:02 AM) lol at your sig So what happens in 2014 that they don't win it all??? Is Lebron gonna try to play baseball for a year too???
  13. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 09:22 PM) "48 hrs ago: sportsbook.com had LeBron at +125 to sign w/ Bulls. Bosh was +300. Now? They're both -500. Hmmmmmm." I had to look it up. For Lebron: Bulls are -500, Cavs, Knicks, Nets, +400, Clippers, Heat +1000 Wade: Heat -1000, Knicks +500, Bulls +1000 Bosh: Bulls -500, Heat +400, Knicks +500, Cavs/Rockets/Wizards +1000
  14. In Zambrano's past 46 starts, he is 14-14 with a 4.84 ERA. He is due about $19 million each of the next two seasons. Do you regret starting this thread yet?
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 11:28 AM) Oh boy, Jurgen Klinsmann just said that soccer, like basketball, needs to develop in the "lower class environments." I think he is probably correct, but I can see that being interpreted wrong and turned into a big s***storm. You could tell that Jurgen's comments made Mike Tiricio a bit uncomfortable and he was ready to switch to the English commentator. If a full-time American ESPN reporter had said the same stuff, he would definitely be in trouble, but I think Jurgen will be fine since he is a part-time World Cup commentator but from Germany. Plus, most of what he said was 100% right.
  16. Do we really need another thread??? I think we have all the roster issues covered in the NHL thread.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 12:14 AM) Josh Johnson's 1 ER or less streaks ends. The bum had the audacity to give up 2 runs in 8 innings. Not to mention 1 BB and 9 Ks. You can blame everyone's 2nd favorite rookie Mike Stanton for that. With a runner on 3rd, one out in the 5th. Jon Garland was at the plate. He hits a fly ball in the corner in foul territory, Stanton decides to catch it against the wall, instead of letting the pitcher take another swing, which lets the runner score from 3rd. That turned out to be the 2nd and winning run in a 2-1 loss for Johnson.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 10:04 AM) Jesus, we think we got screwed....England got raped! Wow, just saw the replay. That one missed call is way worse than both bad calls vs. USA combined!!
  19. Good to see Viciedo is getting so much playing time since being called up Pierre lf Vizquel 3b Rios cf Konerko dh Quentin rf Kotsay 1b AJP c Ramirez ss Beckham 2b
  20. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 04:03 PM) Congrats to the US for getting to the round of 16. Too much effort put forward to get there. Hopefully we move forward and get a quality international coach instead of taking MLS cup winners and promoting them. Couldn't have said it better myself. Congrats USMNT. It was a fun ride, they neither over nor under acheived, had a chance to advance further, just didn't happen. Yes, 100% agree that we need a coach from outside the US & MLS, show the players a new look and take a new step.
