  1. How awesome would it be if the Pirates just took it to him and he barely made it 2 or 3 innings? I'd enjoy that. Is this game on national TV?
  2. Sounds like its Leighton in net tommorrow night, no surprise to me.
  3. BP probably picked the worst possible season to start this Crosstown Cup, considering all the factors: 1. Both baseball teams SUCK 2. Many fans are awash in Hawks fever, which has kept them from baseball. Especially, if the series extends to game 7 Friday night. 3. World Cup season, USA vs. England is Saturday around the same time. 4. The whole issue they are having LA, people are upset and boycotting them about as it is
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 12:47 PM) Cy Silva at it again. We'll see him this weekend. Never in a million years did I think he'd be an All-Star. If they keep this lead, he'll be 8-0. Who would have thought they would get that production from him, yet still be 5 games under .500?
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) They've done dumber things. Like trading for Javy Vazquez. Again. And giving Nick Johnson good money, while banking on the fact that he would stay healthy.
  6. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 12:58 PM) Why would they trade for a pitcher with an ERA north of 6 in June? They wouldn't. Last time I checked 5.90 Seriously though, it was more of a how hypothetically untradeable he really is.
  7. The only way JFP might get traded is if CC Sabathia & AJ Burnett both needed Tommy John surgery tommorrow. Then maybe, just maybe, would the Yankees even think about taking on Peavy & his contract.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 11:36 AM) At this point, I'm not as concerned with the prospects we receive for Buehrle as I am freeing ourselves from his contract. Good point. I guess I'm overvaluing his importance to the team in 2011. With the numbers he has put up over the past year, we could pay somebody half as much to do the same thing and save a good amount of coin.
  9. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 11:14 AM) It was really a matter of time. It will be very hard to deal Buerhle to Cardinals. I dunno if they bite with his past 12 months record. But like someone said maybe a change of scenary will do him well. I wonder if they have the prospects to get MB, as well as the $$$$.
  10. QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 10:30 AM) As predicted, waiting till after the draft. Now it gets interesting. But just before AJP's 10/5 no-trade rights kick in as well I believe
  11. It was great to see the Hawks come out and play so well, but two things still worry me about game 6. 1. The Flyers have been outstanding on their home ice, as has Leighton. 2. They still managed four goals last night despite the Hawks barrage. It should be interesting, but it is nice to know that the Flyers would have to win at the UC to get the Cup. I must say I have discovered the taste of victory. Its a free Egg McMuffin to help beat a hangover on the way to work in the morning. Thanks Brent Seabrook.
  12. QUOTE (hogan873 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 07:42 AM) I was watching yesterday's game, and I heard Stone talking about Quentin. He was saying his average is quite low, but he's getting a lot of results out of his hitting. Imagine if he was hitting .260 or so. Quentin turning his season around could do the team a world of help. Of course there are many other pieces that need to start coming through to even have a glimmer of hope. Baby steps, I know, and there's not much time for baby steps. Despite hitting .209, he's still on pace for 93 RBIs, which is not a bad full season total.
  13. I already see it. A "History Will Be Made" video with Byfuglien scoring a goal tonight, and the headline saying, "What if McCreary actually called a penalty on Pronger?"
  14. What a f***ing game! The UC was just rocking all night. Really, really hope I dont have to go back Friday night. Pronger -5 on the game. Once he was finally in the box, it was pretty easy for Buff to score in front of the net. Good to finally get some calls for the Hawks and capitalize on them. If Hawks play like this on Wednesday, they will have the cup, but I know its tough to do that in Philly. Walking back to the car I saw the best hitter of the 90s, #35, with his very hot, skinny, blond wife.
  15. Ladd is playing again, no word on Burish yet. In the morning practice, all the originial lines from Friday skated together, but I still think Q is gonna mix it up. Heading out to the UC now, come on you idiots, wake the f*** up and make it 3-2. Go Hawks!
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 05:01 PM) If you are Kansas in those scenarios its not pretty, but youd probably call the Big East, ACC and SEC. Dont really fit geographically but if some of these expansions happen, geography wont really mean as much. Kansas is in an interesting position, cause their football program is middle of the road at best, but they have a top 5 basketball program. Due to that, Big 10 or ACC would make the most sense, but I haven't heard them mentioned much.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) More than 1/2 the way to Hershiser's record Jinxed em! He is still very good.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 11:55 PM) Our rotation would be Danks, Buehrle, Floyd, Richard and Ely/Garcia Buehrle & Floyd have ERAs over 4.50, Richard & Ely have only pitched in the NL West. How good do you think they would really end up?
  19. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 04:12 PM) They are cheaper than the NFL and NBA for the most part. Season tickets for the NFL consist of 10 total games, as opposed to 81 so in the end they turn out to be much cheaper and hard to compare.
