  1. They had some issues at the catcher position, so they call up some 12th round pick named John Jaso. Through 20 games, he has an OPS of only .907. The talent pool is never ending.
  2. Terence Jones, who announced he was going to Washington at a presser weeks ago, has officially signed with Kentucky.
  3. #1 Reason: TCQ and Beckham are gonna start hitting like they are capable of and we will start winning games like todays. If that doesn't happen, then thank god for the Hawks & the World Cup to hold me over til Bears training camp, cause this team will be going nowhere.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2010 -> 05:16 PM) Dude, it is the National League. Carlos Silva is pitching well in that league. Thats very true. By the way, he goes by Cy Silva now.
  5. QUOTE (scenario @ May 19, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) This week. Two weeks ago they knew nothing about him. And two weeks from now, they will be asking for him to be sent back to the minors.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 19, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) Doesn't Nix have like 4 homers in 10 at bats off Saunders or something? 3 for 5 with 3 solo HRs, OPS of 3.0000
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 16, 2010 -> 11:21 AM) Two words: "Retention Department" Call up, ask for that, tell them that Direct TV has made you a nice offer but you'd prefer to not have to switch, but you will unless they lower your bill. We have 3 hd boxes, internet, HBO, all that stuff and pay $105 per month total on a 12 month contract. FTW, been doing that for over 4 years now
  8. I wouldn't be so quick to knock the Nets chances. They won't be getting John Wall, but Devin Harris is no slouch and playing with LeBron could only help him. Lopez is a baller too. You can never disregard the whole Brooklyn/Jay-Z connection with him either, seems to be a big deal to him.
  9. We spent so much time worrying about whether or not the Hawks would have the #1 seed and home-ice advantage, shows how little we knew. I hate to jinx anything or be too confident, but man, I have a hard time seeing anybody stopping the Hawks right now, 6 more wins fellas. Since Hossa was such a high-profile FA signing and makes so much money, I think people expect him to score so many goals, but obviously he does so much more than that. Hes a pleasure to watch, so strong and has such control of the puck, no matter who is around him trying to knock him over. Its no coincidence that Sharpie is having such a good playoffs playing next to him. It's only 2 games, but looking like Montreal's run might be ending. Its crazy that the Flyers needed a shoot out just to make the playoffs, and are now this close to the Finals. If they had lost the shootout, the Rangers would have been the #8 seed, Montreal the #7, and we might be watching Capitals/Penguins now instead.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ May 17, 2010 -> 09:15 PM) Twins go up to Toronto...Morneau hits two homers...Bullpen logs 4 scoreless...they win 8-3. That's what a good team looks like. Then the next day they give up four homers and lose 11-2. Thats what a good team looks like.
  11. Trever Hoffman at it again. Blows a two-run lead: 0 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 1 HR. Now 5/10 in saves, 13.15 ERA, 2.15 WHIP Might be time to hang em up old man, although its crazy that last year he had one of his best seasons ever.
  12. Sox win, Twins lose, Tigers lose, movin on up!!!!!!
  13. QUOTE (juddling @ May 17, 2010 -> 07:28 PM) and the last scene had a guy who's baggage was "a Cub Fan" haha My wife just screamed out "What the f***!! Does that say being a Cubs fan is baggage????" Hahaha, awesome
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 18, 2010 -> 09:18 AM) Vizquel back in the 2 hole for today's game per Gonzalez. f*** yeah!!!! Porcello's nightmares are coming to life!!!!
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 17, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) Marmol now has 38 Ks in 19 2/3 IP. Disgusting. He also came in with the bases loaded in a 1-run game and pulled a Randy Williams, 4 straight balls. As a closer, you can't be doing that.
  16. I also have a hard time seeing Lebron going to Los Angeles, where Kobe already is the big dog, and he would have to compete with him on whats been one of the 5 worst franchises in recent major sports history.
  17. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 18, 2010 -> 07:57 AM) I think fathom nailed it pretty much by saying it's either Cleveland or whoever ends up with Calipari. Just to be different, I'm going to say the Clippers. On paper, they argubly have a more complete team than the Bulls right now (Davis, Gordon, James, Griffin and Kaman vs Rose, Hinrich, James, Deng and Noah), and if Lebron says his main reason to leave is to win, I think he can do that with that team in Los Angeles on paper. IMO, Baron Davis & winning an NBA title do not go together.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 18, 2010 -> 12:46 AM) Quick question: where do people stand with Niemi as far as the future of this team? Is he the guy for the future or do we still look to get a veteran goalie this offseason? Without a doubt, you go with Niemi as your #1 goalie next year. I don't think signing a veteran goalie for big $$$ is necessarily the best move, especially with the salary cap. Look how it hurt the Hawks with Khabi & Huet, and look at some of the other teams in the playoffs as well. San Jose pays big $$ for Nabokov, but until this year it hasn't paid off. The Habs just found Halak and he has been unbelievable, Philly has played goalie roulette all season, Boston is paying Thomas big cash, but rode Rask all season. The Canucks have Luongo for the next 10 seasons, and how happy do you think they are about that right now?
  19. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 18, 2010 -> 12:35 AM) You forgot about the Taco Bell. Not that I care but since they get about $5 bucks from me about once a week, I thought it should be important. LOL, very true, how did I forget about that Taco Bell? When I was dating my wife, she lived like a block from there, I was a sucker for some Taco Bell on the late night, but it was always so good. Carloz Zambrano is no longer an $18 million setup guy, he is now a $18 million long reliever. Sweet Lou admits that moving him the the 8th inning was a bad idea.
  20. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 17, 2010 -> 01:22 PM) Apparently James found out before game 5. This reminds me of the Scottie Reynolds Villanova stories that came out after they sucked it up in the tourney. Another player was banging his GF or something. Those all turned out to be false, as I'm sure all these Delonte rumors will turn out to be as well. Now if they had said Zydrunas Ilgauskas was sleeping with her, that would be much more believable.
