QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 06:21 PM) I disagree. I love the shootout in the regular season. As many OT as it takes for the playoffs, of course, but a 5-minute OT and shootout in the regular season is just right by me. If the Rangers are pissed that their season came down to a shootout, they had 81 other games to do something about it. Boo-hoo. I agree that the Rangers have no reason to complain about not making the playoffs, they had every chance for the extra two points all year. Its still kinda crazy though that the season comes down to a couple of penalty shots. The shootouts wouldnt bother me as much if they weren't worth 3 total points while regulation games are worth 2. If regulation wins were worth 3 points, I think it would be much better. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 06:56 PM) Looks like the Bulls will need to win out, control their destiny. The Raptors have Detroit and New York left to play while we have two playoff teams... The way the Bulls have been most of the year, its probably better they have playoff teams. If it was two matchups vs. the Nets, they would blow it. -
The vaunted Cubs bullpen lost another one today. Grabow is the only one with any past history of being good and he's 0-2. The 126 million dollar man made another highlight play to keep the winning rally alive

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 06:15 PM) Anyone wanna sum up what Toronto is looking like this year? Shawn Marcum is their #1, looked pretty good in '07 & '08, then had the old Tommy John. He has done well in his 1st two starts with a 3.46 ERA, 0.92 WHIP. Luckily, we wont face him.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 05:03 PM) My dad: "Hear those clicks?" Me: "Huh?" *looking around the room* Dad: "That's all the TVs being turned off" Phil Mickelson, your 2010 Masters champion. Kind of a bummer of a final round. On the front 9 it seemed like it would come down to 18, but Lefty took control.

4/11 GT: Sox vs. Twins, Buehrle vs. Blackburn

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 04:03 PM) How did Bonderman look the other day? Back to his old stuff, or still struggling? I know his numbers were good in the start. I never got all the hype about Bonderman. I was always glad to see him in the pitching probables list, he has never had a season of sub-4.00 ERA, and yet he is getting paid $12.5 million. He is only 27 but he's been in the majors since 03. -
Castro still in Arizona, will start season on DL

Remember a few years ago when our backup Toby got hurt and everyone thought the season was over??? Its nice to have a catcher like AJP that makes your backup's effect on the season minimal. And if anything would happen to AJ, Im sure Flowers would come up and play everyday anyway. -
I can't wait to see what the Twins 3rd base coach has to say about that one. Juan Pierre with the missile to the cut off man!!!!

Mickelson may have just won the tourney with that ridiculous shot from behind the tree. Anthony Kim coming out of nowhere with a -7 into 2nd place.

Bring it on Nashville!!! NYR-PHI going to a shoot out. You play 82 games, and your entire season rests on a shootout, ridiculous. -

QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) Just saw this and it made me say 'hmmm'.... Manny got his 2,500th hit yesterday. Which means that over the course of their careers, Omar Vizquel has over 200 more hits than Manny. Just thought that was interesting. In 1,946 more at-bats... -

Grand Salami Sunday. Verlander gives one up to Luis Valbuena, 5-0 Tribe. Johan gave up one in the first to Willingham as well. -
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 11:12 AM) Oh, he doesn't? oops. I think I meant to say in majors. I always hear them say that he has never come back on Sunday, but I guess they are referring to majors, since there are none on that list. Obviously, he has come back in other tournaments many, many times.

Polish president, Dignitaries killed in plane crash
LittleHurt05 replied to Balta1701's topic in The Filibuster
I'm 1st generation Pole born here, so definitely big deal in my family as well. From what I've read, it basically sounds like the pilot try to land in bad foggy conditions when he was advised not to. I heard that an earlier Russian plane had been diverted to a different airport, but this Polish pilot refused to. Why he would do that, when he has so many higher-level people on the plane is questionable. The president isn't nowhere near as involved in running the government as the prime minister is. However, almost all of the military's chief of staff was on the plane, so re-establishing leadship in the military is gonna be a much bigger blow to the country. Probably won't see that many important people all on the same plane in the future. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 02:05 AM) Yea it's a win-win almost. The Wings can win and gain 5th and we play either Nashville or LA. (depending if LA wins or loses in OT) Or the Hawks win and play Colorado and the Wings lose + LA lose, means the Wings play the Canucks. (what I've been hoping for all along. Let one of those teams knock the other out.) This -
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 09:18 AM) Today's going to be very interesting with Tiger only 4 back and tied for 3rd. It's not impossible to see him force a playoff. Tiger doesn't have a history of coming back from big deficits on Sundays though. In most of his wins, he already had the lead on the final day. If Phil or Westwood can just have an average day, it could be hard for El Tigre to make it up.
