Polish president, Dignitaries killed in plane crash
LittleHurt05 replied to Balta1701's topic in The Filibuster
f***. I can't wait to hear my old man's thoughts on this. I dont know why the president would be flying on a 26 year old Tupelov plane instead of a newer Boeing/Airbus or something. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) Any reason why Vizquel is starting versus a LHP over Nix? Ozzie? Didn't think so. Defense and bunting skill -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) Alexei is sandwiched between some good hitters today. LOL, I don't think today will be the day he breaks out of his slump -
Wow, this is amazing. Japan is signing papers on a boat mother f***a

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 08:21 AM) I heard they are an aweseome band to see live. I don't know how to describe them. Alt-southern rock country. Something like that. Glad to hear they are a great live band. Southern rock is kinda the description I had heard before, should be a good show.

The #2 and #5 spots in the lineup...

QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) From what I saw of Andruw Jones throughout spring training, he's much better than just a .220 caliber hitter. A good 30 to 40 points better. I don't know how this is even arguable. I also don't know how Kalapse and Balta thought I was basing my opinion on the first three regular season games. I thought that y'all were much smarter than that. His last three seasons he hit .222, .158, & .214. I think considering him a .220 caliber hitter is right on the money. Spring training means little. You have to prove it in the regular season, which he hasnt done in four years. -
I'd have showed up to the midterm with a large mop bucket. "Professor, I can stay and take this test if you want, but I guarantee this bucket will get filled by the time I'm done."

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:20 PM) I'm not saying people can't if they don't want to, I personally would not though. I watch sports figures because I like them, not because I think they're really good at what they do. I think Barry Bonds is a jagoff, so despite his Hall of Fame skills, I'll always root against him. Ditto for A-Rod, Clemens, McGwire, etc. Clearly I don't know professionals personally, but the perception of them makes me want to root for/against them. To me I just think it's funny to have a guy that most people think is morally reprehensible be applauded like he's an idol. I know what he did wasn't that bad on the scale of bad things, but still. I have a feeling the reception would be quite different at a normal tournament. And I think he knew that, and that's why he chose to come back so early. And it's not a surprise that there are a ton of reports coming out that his wife (the person he's supposedly doing everything humanly possible to win back) is pissed about him coming back so soon. Career>family was basically his choice, just another thing that makes me think he’s a giant douche. * *Of course that's assuming those reports are true, which they may or may not be. Its always easy to root against athletes you dislike. Roger Clemens & Curt Schilling are two of my least favorite athletes simply because they are such big douchebags. I'd be careful though if you are gonna root for athletes simply because you like them and think they are good people. If you knew who they truly were and what they did off the field, your opinion might change about many of them. Back to the golf, Poulter & Westwood out to a 3 stroke lead now. Tiger & Choi are hanging right there at -6 with two to go. Sandy Lyle shot a 69 yesterday and was in the hunt. Followed that up with an 86 (+14) today....ouch!

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 12:22 PM) I thought the reception for Tiger was pretty hysterical. "Yay, the creepy pervert is back on the course! Yay! Let's clap cuz he can hit the ball real far, yay!" Dude was banging his next door neighbors' daughter who he met when she was FOURTEEN (gross). I'm rooting for Watson/Couples. That would be an amazing group Sunday. What does him being a creepy pervert have anything to do with rooting for him playing golf? I'm sure theres plenty of other athletes that you root for out there that are just as creepy if not worse than Tiger. They are just not stupid enough to get caught up in the media like him. Let him bang whoever and whatever he wants in his free time, I can still enjoy watching the best golfer in the world conquer Augusta.

I'd probably give him a cheer the first time he came up, but I don't know about a standing O like Big Frank received. There is so much nostalgia towards Thome cause hes such a good guy, but he only played four years here past his prime, hit one huge homer, but its not like we had any major success when he was here.

It only took Chipper Jones 3 games to get hurt this season

Who will be the last Sox starter to get a hit?

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 09:06 AM) psh, at least linebrink helped us get into the playoffs in 08 And its a lot easier to hide a bad reliever in the back of your bullpen. Teahen was signed to be our everyday 3rd basemen, cant hide him when hes in the lineup daily. -
Our UPS driver has been there for like 25 years, seems like he really enjoys it. I think hes up to 7 weeks vacation, which is pretty awesome. He also did just have to go rehab for smoking too much grass and drinking, not sure if that was job related though.

Freddie Couples on top of the leaderboard is awesome, although I'm sure it won't last. I was surprised that it was Tiger's best 1st round score ever, he's gotta be happy with how the weekend is setting up right now. CBS is drooling over a Woods/Mickelson Sunday pairing. My guy Stricker sucked it up, hope he can turn it around this morning.

Anybody know much about the Drive-by Truckers???? Going to see them at the Vic tonight. I've never heard of them, but the wife's a big fan.
