  1. I hope Q doesnt put Huet back in there tonight cause its a back-to-back. f*** the frenchie's confidence, Niemi is rolling, and we need to keep him going for the run to the Cup.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 12:35 PM) i thought I remember reading somewhere that he has Korean Army service time requirements that need to be fulfilled in the next few years Needs to serve two years by the time he's 30, turns 28 in July. He's a great all-around talent, would suck to lose out on two years in his prime. He won't be a free agent until 2013 anyway.
  3. I have no idea what that Sportsnation show is, so I definitely have to vote for that numbskull Rome.
  4. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 02:32 PM) How the hell do you boo a guy on the first day of the season? Scott Linebrink, maybe I understand, but booing guys who are just playing their first game ever in a Sox uniform?? I dont get it either.
  5. For me its a toss-up for the #3 spot with Z & Danks....I'd probably give it to Z just cause hes been putting up the sub 4.00s for longer (despite the 54.00 ERA this season)
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 12:30 PM) You had some awesome seats (and an awesome camera). ^^^^^^^ Thanks for sharing, great pics
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 11:44 AM) SIU!!!! We would beat Illinois at least 3 out of 10 times! A mid-major beating a major BCS team????? Yeah, right, thats never gonna happen!!! I-L-L!!!!
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 10:23 AM) Apparently they could've hired Tony Barbee from UTEP but they waited several days before bothering to call him, because they were busy calling the likes of Jamie Dixon and Mark Few... I remember hearing that too. DePaul kept going after the big guns they had no chance with, and didn't even contact Barbee, who expressed lots of interest in the job. By the time they were done with their pointless courting of the big dogs, Barbee was already gone. He had the offer of millions from Auburn, and he just couldnt turn it down.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 11:57 AM) New on today at 3pm on ABC about Paul Westhead and Hank Gathers. It was a great program. Thought they could have gone more in depth into what the details of "the system" but overall entertaining and touching at the end. Overall these 30 for 30 pieces have been great, glad to see the use of outside filmmakers, which I think has helped keep ESPN's biased fingers off of them somewhat, although there is a whole film about the 04 ALCS coming up. Just watched the rerun of the movie about the U. I liked it a lot, especially with all of the old players talking about what it was like. I had no idea that Miami was just a small private university with a joke of an athletic program until Sullenberger & Johnson turned it into the U in the late 70s/80s.
  10. Do we think Krause is actually gonna be doing any work? Or was this more of a hire a friend for a BS consulting job move??
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 08:57 AM) It really isn't though. If you've got the right connections in the city it's a great source of talent, it's in a major metro area, and it's a program in a major conference. If i were DePaul I would have thrown millions to Jerrence Howard. At the very least you'd deal with 2-3 years of no worse than what they've been, but he's in on some of the best recruits in the midwest. He could at least build up the talent on the roster and then bring in someone who can coach em up. You are in a major conference where most of the others schools' basketball budgets completely dwarf yours. Being in a major metro area, your fan base is non-existent cause there are so many other teams to root for. You play in a cavernous multi-purpose arena 15-20 miles from campus. Its also a big commuter school, so a lot of the other students are spread around the city anyway. If they had stayed in C-USA, it would be a better job, cause you would have a way to better chance to compete and be successfull right away. Going against the likes of UConn, Cincinnati, Louisville, G-Town, etc., good luck. I do agree that Jerrence Howard would have been a better hire. A young great recruiter with connections to the state could have brought more excitement and life to the program. Thankfully they didn't cause I think Bruce needs him by his side to keep up these top recruiting classes.
  12. Gotta love Big Z and his emotions. His career ERA in 6 opening day starts is 6.99, so a game like that can be expected. He just gets so excited and lets his emotions get to him, that he just cant control his pitching. Doesn't matter how good your stuff is, that right there prevents you from ever being an ace.
  13. Wow, what a great game. Other than our DH in the 5th spot doing what we thought he would, it was nearly a perfect start to the season. The best part is that Jake f***ing Peavy is starting our next game. I'm liking this squad...Go Sox!
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) Blue skies.... smiling at me. Watch it online on espn 3 (if you have any sort of normal cable provider). Really? Opened ESPN3, says it only has the Cards/Reds now, then the Cubs/Braves is upcoming, and a whole lotta soccer, no Sox game
  15. Wow, Pujols. Some things never change I know Reyes & Beltran are hurt, but with the lineup the Mets are throwing out there today, they are going nowhere in the NL East LOL, David Wright just answered my comment with a 2-run bomb
  16. Glad to see the Hawks seem to have figured it out before the playoffs started. Thanks Q for not f***ing around with the goalies anymore, and letting Niemi prove that he is the playoff goalie. Should be interesting to see how this week plays out with the playoff seeding. Still have a shot for the #1 seed, only 2 pts back with an extra game to play. The #8 seed is gonna be either Colorado or Calgary which would be a nice matchup. Detroit, LA, & Nashville are battling for the 5-7 spots, the Wings can still fall to #7, which would not be fun for either the Hawks or SJ.
  17. Very glad to see Big Hurt working with White Sox baseball. From what I know and have seen, I'm not sure he will be the best TV analyst, especially at the beginning, but still glad to see him around.
  18. Stuck at work today, but super pumped for today and for the season!!! Everytime I think about that we added Jake f***in Peavy to the rotation we had, makes me think we can definitely do some damage this year!! GO SOX!!!!
  19. QUOTE (Ultimate Warrior @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 08:49 PM) im not the only stoned one who enjoys pizza hut in this thread Ultimate Warrior, I think you have many SoxTalk awards in your future, just saying
  20. Jim Caple picking Giants over Twins, way to be different

  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) Nah. You don't think there's at least one fan from each team saying the same thing? It would all cancel out. Each team? I guess there could be a drunk Pirates fan out there saying "This rotation of Malholm, Duke, Morton, Ohlendorf, & McCutchen is gonna carry us all the way to the World Series!!! Go Bucs!!!!!"
  23. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) Yeah, I was referring to Jurassic. I heard that Andruw Jones doesn't believe in dinosaurs, the next WS is ours!
