  1. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 10:48 AM) On his BR page click 'batting' at the top then scroll down to 'Baserunning & Misc. Stats' and the 'PO' and 'PO CS' stats are right in the middle. 8 in '05 (f***ing ridiculous), 7 in '06 and an absurd 9 last season, 11 total. He was caught stealing 13 times and picked off another 9 times and only produced 30 SB, 23 unnecessary outs on the basepaths with a payoff of only 30 SB? He truly is an awful baserunnner. Its good to see that the stats backup how bad his baserunning appears to be. For someone that hit a walkoff WS homer, its bad that in my mind he might be remembered almost as much for that extra inning pick off vs. Seattle last year.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 08:09 AM) I was going to scoff and laugh at Milton Bradley's statement that he's like the Kanye West of Baseball. Perhaps with a joke about Milton Bradley being the voice of this generation of this decade. But then I read how he phrased his statement: And I realized...slap a beat behind that man and this is a hit record. He is Kanye West! ESPY Teahen's reaction
  3. Props to Dayton for a well-played game, at least the parts I didn't sleep through. The more I looked ahead to a possible NIT final vs. UNC, maybe its better they lost before. I dont think I could handle losing another final to them, even in the lowly NIT. Thanks Illini for a f***ed up, but entertaining season. Hopefully DMac & Davis can figure out in the offseason how to bring it for a full game, not just from time to time. With Jereme & Co. stepping on to campus, they might be able to return to being relevant again next season. For all the bad talk about Keller, he is nowhere near the worst JUCO player in recent Illini history. Anyone remember Blandon Ferguson from the Self era? Ugh, now that guy sucked.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 10:26 AM) As I've said, goaltending can often be about confidence and repetition. Quenneville needs to stick with Niemi except for back-to-backs. Whenever either of our goaltenders last year (Huet or Khabibulin) got consistent time they were better. The rotating goaltender is the only thing I don't like about Q's coaching. You find your horse, you stick with him, and after last night the Hawks have found their horse, and I"d be surprised to see Niemi sit for more than 2-3 games the rest of the way. And Huet has already been named the goalie tommorrow night in Columbus.... I agree with you, especially after how well Niemi played last night, he should be in there again
  5. I wouldn't be so quick to give Detroit the #8 seed either. They are only 2 pts back of Colorado, 4 pts back of Nashville with 2 more games to play & 2 head-to-head. Their upcoming schedule isnt too tough and they have been playing well, they could easily move up to the 6 or 7 spot.
  6. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 22, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) Gonzaga blows. They lost to San Francisco and Loyola Marymount while their only wins vs. tournament teams were St. Mary's (who they were 2-1 against) and Wisconsin. They were 3-4 against tourney teams. I don't think they'd give Duke a better test than they gave Syracuse. Not to mention, Duke & Gonzaga played on a neutral court back in December, and the result was a 76-41 beat down
  7. From what I've read, the bill doesn't appear to contain anything to help doctors w/ malpractice insurance or to enforce malpractice settlement limits. Did I miss it somewhere or is that something that just wasn't dealt with on this bill?
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 21, 2010 -> 11:00 AM) The Bad News for the Hawks is that the Red Wings are currently sitting as the #8 seed, which would make them our first round opponent. San Jose has lost 5 in a row, so the Hawks still are up one point on them, but all of a sudden the Coyotes are only two points back. They can tie us for the #1 seed in the rematch Tuesday. UPDATE: Sharks slide continues, they get smoked by Edmonton of all teams last night. They are still a point back with one less game to play. The Coyotes won their 9th in a row, tying them with the Hawks, although they have played two more games. It would be nice to at least get a point tommorrow night, if not two.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 21, 2010 -> 11:02 AM) If this was talk radio, you would have just gotten hung up on. Makes ya feel for Ranger a little bit, as he actually gets calls like that every single day.
  10. UNI may have been underseeded, but KU was still the #1 overall seed, it doesnt give them any excuse for losing. If Mario Chalmers doesnt hit that 3 or if Derrick Rose hits one more free throw, Self would not be feeling very comfortable in Lawrence. Other than 08, his teams have mightily underperformed in the tourney. Watching the SU/Gonzaga game, it makes me wonder, how awesome would it have been if Gus Johnson had announced that KU/UNI game? I can only imagine his call on that late 3 to win the game. I thought this was an interesting quote from an SI article
  11. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 08:23 PM) Not that it matters at this point. I know Kentucky is vulnerable, but I'll vomit if this team wins the title. At least with Kansas, I knew it wasn't dirty. Dont give Bill Self that much credit
  12. A certain infielder on the Sox is pretty pumped about the Gaels as well... http://twitter.com/ESPY_TEAHEN
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 12:33 PM) I'm obviously biased but I thought Richmond got completely screwed by the refs as well. That game probably goes very differently if isn't for the early terrible foul calls. He's not even wearing the orange & blue yet, and he's already getting screwed by the refs!!!!
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 11:13 PM) Any of you dudes ever use match.com to pick up the ladies? My brother-in-law met his wife on match.com, and I know another couple that met that way too, so i guess it can work.
  15. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 12:29 PM) I saw some Wolves in Chicago, too. Weird thing was they were on ice skates....Yeah bad joke. Was one of them 48 years old and drunk???
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) I agree completely on Purdue, but many people were acting like Sienna was the favorite to beat them. Jujuan can be great and Moore is often their best scorer. I just thought it was odd how many people were acting like Purdue had no shot. I was one of these people who was very wrong. Now that I think about it, it wasn't like Hummel carried the team every single game, they do have tons ofother talent. I think the really putrid showing vs. Minnesota, combined with the mid-major hype machine towards Siena threw me off.
  17. Awesome, a new RW/RR challenge starts April 7. Trailer is up on mtv.com. Fresh Meat II, so lots of new faces, Wes & Kenny are the focus of the trailer.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 08:26 AM) Pat Foley said last night that Seabs is to be in Wiz's wedding this summer. Nice. From ESPNChicago
  19. QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 09:04 PM) I hate it when refs decide to call ticky tack s*** like that. Not saying NMSU wouldve won but they did get jobbed. Guys make like the exact same timed move on every single free throw, what made him decide to call it right there? Ridiculous.
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 05:32 PM) I think this is a biger deal then you're making it. The Rangers organization has an obligation to Josh Hamilton to protect him from drugs, Wash blatantly disregarded these rules. We saw how easily tempted Hamilton is, and to have someone who he looks up to, use it on a whim is unforgivable. It might be a flight of fancy for Wash, but for Hamilton it's an addiction. How is that the case? I think Hamilton has an obligation to the Rangers to stay clean and hit a baseball cause thats what they are paying him millions of dollars for. Unless Washington was snorting lines in the locker room begging Hamilton to join in, I don't see why hes the scapegoat now. If Washington goes out with friends and gets drunk one night, is it his fault if Hamilton lapses and drinks a week later???
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 03:49 PM) 0-101 since we went to 64/65 teams. I really hope it does happen. If it was gonna happen this year, the most likely game is tonight. And no I'm not talking about you Arkansas Pine Bluff
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 04:43 PM) Illinois beat them by 14 Wow. I remember coming out of that game impressed with Wofford, thought it was closer, although the Illini needed a 2nd half run to make it double digits. Looking at the schedule, that was the game before the whole season fell apart.
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 04:25 PM) Thats how the Wisconsin Buzzcuts roll. Slow, methodical, then BOOM 3 pointer. Ryan always has the skilled player or two that can take over a game or create his own shots when needed. I've seen Trevon Hughes do it plenty of times this year, in the past he's had Alando Tucker, Devin Harris, etc.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 04:30 PM) I had Wofford winning that game in a few brackets, they are a serious team. They've played some good teams tough this season. They played well against the Illini in Champaign this year, losing by only 5 or 7, although we all know games vs. NIT teams dont count.
