  1. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) White Sox All-Decade Team What do you guys think? Besides my obvious hate of the pick of Juan Uribe, the only one I question/laugh at is John Danks as one of the 5 best starting pitchers. I would have gone with Loaiza for 2003, like the article states. I'm fine with Uribe. For every homer that Valentin hit, he would throw the ball into the 1st bsae stands on a routine grounder. Doesn't Loaiza also get credit for netting us another one of the top 5 SPs via trade??
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 01:39 PM) SEC seems like a lateral or even step down move to me. Especially at Auburn. Maybe if he was the football coach? Seriously, other than Charles Barkley, has Auburn b-ball ever been relevant in anyway? Maybe the pressure at Minnesota was too much for him too, so now he's moving down to another BCS school were football will shield him completely.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 01:24 PM) Tubby's leaving for Auburn after this game, according to a great source. Other than $$$$, what does Auburn offer in basketball-wise that Minnesota doesn't??? According to CBS, he makes $1.75 mil now, and Auburn would offer $2 mil, so thats not an enormous pay raise for someone like him.
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) I'd still bring back Dye to the Sox. Maybe even Crede to back up Teahan if he fails and once Crede's back fails, who are you gonna bring in to back him up?
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 11:45 AM) Its not gonna happen. WVU will still win by double digits. Yup, already 11 point game at the half. Just thought I'd throw in another jab at the Big East while I had the chance.
  6. The Big East continues its stellar tournament so far, Morgan State with an early 10-0 lead over WV
  7. Whatever last second shots there end up being today, I hope most of them are in Buffalo, where one Gus Johnson will be calling the games.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 09:25 AM) Ron Washington admits using amphetamines, pot while a player. During that era, using amphetamines/cocaine was standard throughout the league.
  9. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) I am laughing at The Big Turd The Big East laid yesterday. Just wait til Vermont beats Syracuse again today
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 09:02 AM) 2 examples of bats I'd be considering if I were the Cubs. First, why is Dan Uggla not a Cub yet? Second, if the Cubs offered up either Castro or Vitters plus a few lower level guys for Grady Sizemore...do you think the Indians would at least be intrigued? He just signed a $7.8 million contract, could they even afford that now? Especially after they gave an OF a big contract for the fourth straight off-season.
  11. For a while, the Nats has Lastings Milledge in that outfield as well, what a coaches dream.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 09:17 PM) No one on ESPN had the correct final 4 that year, though 4 people did have George Mason. I finished something like 20th nationally that year, actually almost had it perfect with 3/4 and Mason in the Elite 8. Pretty much my claim to fame. On CBS, no one had it right and on ESPN four people had the final four correct. Including this guy, who thought he was picking George Washington, not George Mason.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 09:14 PM) It won't happen but And that's a 15-0 run, oh well, fun while it lasted. Maybe N Iowa can pull a miracle off
  14. I go with A for a hat. I prefer the B logo on a shirt/jersey, especially with the red/white/blue colors too.
  15. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) Both teams have been playing well, possibly another buzzer beater on our hands? Pondexter with the great move and lay-up with 1.7 to win it, what a game.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 08:44 PM) Someone did because there are still people on yahoo who are 11 of 11 in picks. Don't ask me how. I'm 8 of 11 with 2 sweet 16's gone and I know its only going to get worse from there, haha. I'm sure those people that are 11/11 are basketball experts too. Just like in 06, when George Mason & a bunch of 2-4 seeds made the Final Four and there were still people that had picked the four correctly.
  17. This UW/Marquette game has been the best watch of the tourney. It doesnt have the Cinderella stories or might not have the crazy ending that the other games have had, but its a just a fun, exciting, good game of basketball.
  18. Just watched it today, that was a great show. Reminded me of how much I hated the Knicks during the 90s, especially Mason & Starks. The travelling Ewing got away with it on both of those last second shots was pretty ridiculous. Then again, in today's NBA, those would never be called either. I did really enjoy replay after replay after replay of Ewing missing the finger roll at the end of Game 7.
  19. I had no idea MLB drug tested managers as well, thats interesting.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) In the paper today, the Cubs are going to run run and more run to create runs. With who Lou? Half your team cant run and the other half is injured. LOL. Your projected leadoff hitter gets 20+ SB a year, but no one else in your lineup even hit double digit steals last year. And the one player with great SB skills in the past has admitted his knee is nowhere near healthy, even after the offseason. Good luck with that.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 11:44 AM) DePaul's relevance went out with parachute pants. They need to make a big splash in a coach. Well, they definitely are leaving their options open to all possible applicants. With all the basketball experts on this board, I think some of Soxtalk should apply as well: https://jobs-depaul.icims.com/jobs/16142/job
  22. LOL, a 14-17 Oregon State team that lost at home 99-48 to Seattle...
