  1. I hate to be giving our government any credit, but does anyone think its possible that the reason they haven't tried any subway/train/mall/supermarket bombings is cause they have actually had a hard time setting up the bombers & explosives in the US? All the recent attempts have been based in foreign countries, and on 9/11 the only weapon was a box cutter. Maybe their opportunities to strike in the US are so limited that they have to make it something big to make it worth the effort? I could be completely wrong, it would require the feds to be doing a good job.
  2. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) Could've happened. Anyway, can he play? A ** JUCO recruit usually isnt too good, and I have no idea how good of football they play at COD. Supossedly a few other BCS programs like Oregon St. & Indiana showed interest, and if he is anywhere near as athletic as his brother, he'll have a chance to compete. Guess we'll find out, but I think it was probably more of a favor for his brother. If he can stay with it and get a degree from U of I, then good for him
  3. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 08:14 PM) While I agree with your point completely, you addressed the wrong group of people. I dont know what you mean, but I was addressing the small packs of jokers in the 300 level that were chanting it Tuesday night.
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 11:13 AM) Seattle’s desperately needs another arm. Maybe even two. I don’t think you can go into the season counting on Fister, Snell or Petit to produce. Honestly, if they’re willing to gamble on at least two spots in their rotation I’d offer Sheets and Mulder money and hope for a reclamation. Makes you wonder why they traded Brandon Morrow away? I'm sure they know something nobody else does, but seems like he could of step in the rotation nicely. Aussie Ryan Rowland-Smith stepped in nicely for them last year, but his splits suggest hes more of a product of the spacious ballpark, and probably the defense as well
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 04:43 PM) I'm just not crazy about 27 year old minor leaguers who struggle in AAA. This organization obviously has no problem with them. See Wise, DeWayne
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 03:44 PM) Who the hell gave David Segui a vote? That's the reason these votes should be made public, because that person obviously needs his privilege revoked. I can bet that person voted for Mark McGwire too, cause they are probably oblivious to the whole "steroid era"
  7. Arrelious Benn's older brother Trulon Henry committed to Illinois to play football. The only reason this is a story is cause as a teenager he robbed a grocery store with a gun, was convicted of armed robbery and served five years in prison. Now he's 25, played two years at College of DuPage, got his associates degree, and now has a scholarship to Illinois. Its questionable whether a convicted felon should get a schollie from a public state university, but thats for the Filibuster. I thought playing with his brother might be the one reason that Benn would stay another year, but obviously that didnt happen.
  8. The MLB Hall of Fame is the HOF that the most people care about, yet its the one voted on by the most idiotic douchebags of the bunch...
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:16 AM) Looks like Weis might take the Chiefs OC job. how long til Romeo Crennel gets the DC job in KC? Scott Pioli is bringing the band back together
  10. Dear Hawks Fans at the UC: Your team is now the #1 team in the league and a Stanley Cup favorite. Please dont try to start a "Detroit Sucks" chant at the end of a game vs. the Wild. First of all, Detroit wouldn't even qualify for the playoffs today. Second of all, all that matters now is getting a new banner with the Stanley Cup on it next to the one from 1961, not anything to do with the Wings. Thank you.
  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 01:30 PM) Not sure why people think Iowa's offense will be all too dynamic. The 10th best offense in the Big Ten this season with a QB who missed the last 2.5 games with an ankle injury?
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 11:07 AM) 300 level tickets going for $100+ now. Wow. Someone always uses them so we never scalp, but our 10th row season tix in the corner face at $15 a pop. Ridiculous.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 08:56 PM) TCU has some nice looking cheerleaders. They are right up there in the cheerleader bowl. Um, yeah. Whatever happened in the football game, I think TCU still came out as the winner last night. Heres a Boise State cheering section:

  15. Looking at the AFC, I think the Colts & Chargers will have some serious rooting interests in the Ravens/Pats game. Playing the winner of Jets/Bengals sounds much more appealing than facing either the Ravens (Colts) or the Patriots (Chargers). My early pick now is the Chargers to make it out of the AFC, look like the best team and have been playing the best football. The NFC looks tough, I can see almost any team making it out of there. As much as the Vikings have struggled, they have been unstoppable at home in the dome, and think they will take it, especially if Dallas or someone can knock off NO in the second round. Chargers/Vikings super bowl, I think the Chargers win that game, the Bolts finally get their Super Bowl!
  16. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 12:27 PM) What the Colts did last week was one of the most gutless things I've ever seen in professional sports. And Angry Sideline Peyton Manning would tell you the same thing. Its SO gutless to do what you think gives your team the best chance to win the Super Bowl in the next month. Isnt that the job of the coach/GM?
  17. For all this talk about airport security/screening & what not, I say we should just follow the same procedures El Al Airlines uses. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Al#El_Al_security
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 12:11 PM) Illinois and Northwestern tonight. Can't say I've ever thought before that a game between these two could be close. Another victory over a Top 25 team would be nice for the tourney resume. Illini are a 7.5 point favorite, wow, kinda high to me. A win to start off Big Ten season would be nice. I always hate these winter break home games where half the krush isnt there and the Hall is barely half as loud as it normally is.

  20. SI reporting Mets have reached a deal with Jason Bay
  21. Anybody else hear Jaws say 22 of 25 Cutler's INTS were Jay's fault??? I know I may be a bit of a Cutler apologist, but I could swear there were more than 3 that were either on the receiver, somebody slipped, or no PI call...
  22. QUOTE (SockMe @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 02:54 PM) anyone going to the Illini game @ the UC? I'll be there. No idea what to expect, with the up & down play from Illinois this year & dont know how good Gonzaga truly is. Illini do usually play pretty well at the UC though
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 09:53 AM) Vikings fans are calling for AP to be benched. It's a testament as to how good of a running back he is that he can fumble so much, yet still get the ball 20+times a game, no questions asked. 95% of the RBs in the league would be out a job if they fumbled as much as him.
  24. I used to frequent Illiniboard, but once I realized how truly delusional and crazy most Illini fans are, I have for the most part stayed away from there.
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 08:59 AM) 3. The biggest thing that has hurt the Bears in the last 5 years has been the injury to Tommie Harris. And I'm not sure how they could replace him. A D-Line upgrade this offseason seems in order, but I'm not sure where to find it. I agree 100%. When Tommie plays like he did in the Super Bowl year before the injury, it makes the entire defense that much better. That position is so important in the Bears scheme. This year they thought they finally had him healthy and he would have a huge year, but he has only shown those flashes occasionally, for the most part he has been mediocre at best. That has definitely led to more struggles for the rest of the D.
