  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 12:03 PM) Team C would say "Team A never beat me head-to-head so how do they advance over me?" Yeah, guess I didnt think about C not playing A and how thats not truly head-to-head. Then I think you are right going C, A, B, using the next tiebreaker, division record.
  2. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) The Tigers made out like bandits on this one. And i hate this for the Yankees. Yeah, the Tigers did great. I'm a big fan Granderson fan, so i think the Yankees did well, didn't give up too much for a great player. I think the D-Backs get hosed, gave up a lot of young talent.
  3. I'd prefer Crawford cause he is such more of a proven commodity. He has been playing well for several years. As much potential as CQ has to be an awesome middle of the lineup power guy, he still has only done it for one season, and he even got hurt for the last month of that year. If we keep getting 2008 CQ, then I'd keep him, but how can we be sure that will happen? Just looked up CQ on baseballreference.com, awesome page sponsor!
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 09:09 AM) As commissioner of an MFL league I need to set the playoff seeds for next week. I have 3 teams tied for the last seed. Tie breakers are set up as head-to-head, then overall division records, then total points. Who's the #6 seed from these 3 teams? (Note: Seeding is best overall 6 teams regardless of divisions) Team A: Beat Team B two times and never played Team C. Division record of 4-6 and has 1263.38 total points Team B: Two losses vs Team A and beat Team C one time. Division record of 4-6 and has 1101.82 points Team C: Never played Team A and lost to Team B once. Division record of 5-5 and has 1299.38 points. GAHHH!!!! Help me rank these teams before I have a mutiny. If the 1st tie-breaker is head-to-head, can you just count it as three-way head-to-head? Team A is 2-0, Team B is 1-2, Team C is 0-1. Team A advances. It kinda sucks cause they havent played each other the same amount of time, but head-to-head is the first tiebreaker, so you have to use it somehow.
  5. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 7, 2009 -> 09:33 AM) Once again, it's a travesty that 5 teams go undefeated and yet only two are "worthy" to fight for the national title. Let's take the top 8 teams in the BCS ranking and do a thought experiment, who wins in the playoff bracket? Alabama beats Oregon in the championship. TCU wins 3rd place with a rout of Cincinnati
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 11:02 PM) Is this years Pac 10 the worst major conference in basketball ever? It might be. Definitely. Washington is going to come into the tourney with only 3 or 4 losses but be overrated cause of the conference record.
  7. I question Schmidt's contract being so high there, I know it didn't work out, but the guy had no injury history, it was just bad luck. Carlos Silva was just always bad, Darren Dreifort was never any good, those are worst contracts, although I am surprised our friend Rios wasnt on there. A few years from now Alfonso will be high on that list as his contract increases and he gets old and keeps getting worse.
  8. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 10:54 PM) I would want to see TCU/UF just because I want to see how good TCU really is. Also, GT doesn't really play defense either so that game would be an offensive explosion. the problem with that is Florida hasnt had much of an offense this year. Maybe TCU/GT would be a good matchup to test that defense. TCU wouldnt score much vs. UF but they are not known for that.
  9. QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 10:51 PM) Maybe. 2 minutes is too much time to give to a team in the college game that just needs a field goal. Take a chance and try to win the game with a calculated risk if the kickoff doesnt go out of bounds, i think they stop them with the way their defense was playing
  10. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) My BCS wish list: UF/TCU GT/Cinci Iowa/Boise I would like to see TCU/Cincy. TCU already beat Boise last year and I think the undefeateds should match up. Plus, Cincy is all offense, and TCU is all defense. And I hope PSU gets the bid instead of Iowa.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 10:23 PM) BCS chaos if that happens. Would Bama get TCU or Cincy? hopefully it would be TCU since Cincy cant play defense...but Nebraskas kicker just put the kickoff out of bounds, I have a feeling Texas will pull it out
  12. The Illini with an impressive seven-point win over the highly ranked Boise State Broncos...oh wait, this is basketball, not football. Oh well, a win's a win.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 07:22 PM) So what's the Championship game then? Texas and Bama? I'm assuming there's no way Nebraska wins. Nebraska shutting down Texas so far with 2 picks of McCoy. Huskers up 6-0 in the first. They are gonna have to start scoring TDs soon cause Texas is probably gonna break out at some point
  14. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 06:30 PM) yea but hes going to want to close. and say he would be a setup guy, thats a very expensive set up guy at 8mil+ very true, and I guess if they do trade Jenks, KW is not gonna throw all that money at another closer, but it would be great to somehow get him
  15. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 11:24 PM) To keep your 1st Rd draft pick (Gonzalez and Soriano). Since the Sox are picking #13, isn't that pick protected? I would give up a second round pick in a second to grab Soriano, even if we dont deal Jenks. That guys stuff is nasty.
  16. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 04:17 PM) True. It was funny when the BTN sideline reporter interviewed Hill after the game and he was offended by her saying it was a shock to Big Ten nation or something stupid. Haha. The same Fresno State team that took Wisconsin to double OT at Camp Randall in September. Oh yeah, what a shock.
  17. Evan Turner out 8 weeks after breaking bones in his back on a fall after dunking. Big blow for the Bucks
  18. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) That's ignorant to the quality of Fresno State. They're not a bad team at all. It's a solid program with a good coach. Yeah, you are right. I wasnt trying to discredit Fresno State's quality, but that was the most points they have scored all season, which Illinois shouldn't be allowing.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 02:47 PM) Weirdest ending I've ever seen in the Illinois/Fresno game. Pretty fitting way to end the season for the fighting Zookers. Finished 1-3 in non-conference, way to schedule em RG. Although when you give up 53 points to a WAC team, theres not many teams you are gonna beat.
  20. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 10:13 PM) Those (and the hot brunette who shot the puck today after the 2nd intermission) are probably the only good things that came out of that game today. BTW, a friend who was at the game, said when they showed him on the jumbo-tron, Sox fans cheered and of course Cubs fans booed, so Ozzie did what A.J. did and showed off his World Series ring. They showed him again with a Blackhawks sweater later and everyone cheered that time. thats exactly what happened, flashing the ring was awesome. They also played Go Go White Sox the first time they showed him. Crosby is out tonight with a nagging groin injury. Kind of a bummer, would like to see how they matchup against the champs at 100%
  21. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 12:31 PM) His entire game has gone to s*** since arriving on the scene in Anaheim. He no longer does anything well, he is 35 after all. HGH is a helluva drug
  22. group of death definitely looks like group G with Brazil, Ivory Coast, & Portugal. I'd say poor North Korea, but f*** them and Kim Jong I think groups B & D look tough too
  23. Sloevnia finishes off the USAs group...they will have no excuses to not advance to the 2nd round
  24. mexico was looking good with South Africa & Uruguay, but France was just added to the group to make it tougher
