  1. 3rd team in the US group is Algeria...thats a lucky break
  2. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 09:38 AM) If KW was the GM we'd have had him by now. nah, hes only 29, KW wouldnt get him til he started declining around 33/34
  3. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) Mangino lost control, have no idea what happened or what caused it. Now, who becomes our next coach, I am hoping for Harbaugh. Is Bill Self stepping down too? Cause the only way Harbaugh goes from Stanford to Kansas is if he can become the head basketball coach.
  4. hell of a civil war going on in Eugene...Back & forth battle, Oregon up 34-33 after 3, with the chance to destroy Ohio State in the Rose Bowl on the line
  5. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 10:10 PM) The Boston Red Sox and Marco Scutaro have agreed to terms on a 2 year deal with an option for a 3rd year. i wonder how much the deal is for...a 33 year old utility guy who just had a career year...im thinking they probably overpaid
  6. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 08:09 PM) Pretty much the entire Royals' clubhouse is very religious FYI. In fact, I believe Grienke, Mark Grenzailinefchdjvdk, Gload etc.. all love (or loved) it there because of it. well Ross Gload is God so that makes sense
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 02:02 PM) The Ruins finale is gonna be teh suck. I'm sure they will edit it to make it look close, but it won't be. I'll tune in to watch Kelly Anne run around in shorts though. yeah, they made the preview seem like the challengers had a good chance to win, but I dont see it happening. Although, having only two people could make it easier instead of five, and Sarah and Kelly Anne are pretty good competitors, but we will see. Either way, I agree, watching Kelly Anne run around always makes it worth the hour spent watching it
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 08:14 PM) Anyone else see the end of regulation to the Tx Tech vs Washington game? Crazy stuff thats gotta be tough to reverse that call in front of a home crowd that just rushed the floor, but I think it was the right call, still had the ball in his hand at zeros
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 06:45 PM) Are any of these kids worth anything? Also it is funny to see the Cubs dumping salary like it is going out of style, and NO ONE in the Chicago media saying a word about it. have you seen the hatred on this board for D Wise? Well, Cubs fans hate Aaron Miles and his salary way more than that, so I'm sure they are all happy to see him go. Either way, Sox fans can thank Aaron Miles for getting us our World Series starting shortstop
  10. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 07:40 PM) my friend plays in the A's organization and claims that jeff gray is a "badass", while spencer is either OF/1B and not much good news on morla. is he a"badass" cause of his baseball abilities or a "badass" cause of his extracurricular activities?
  11. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 05:16 PM) Bernstein just said he's about to be traded to Oakland w/ aaron miles I think he mentioned Jack Cust going back.... Bernsie was calling Jake Fox the right-handed Jack Cust
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 11:05 AM) He caught in 3 games last year for 7 innings. I saw at least one of those and I seem to remember Len and Bob kind of tongue in cheeking the commentary about his skills/comfort level back there. Last year when Soto went on the DL for a month, offensvie juggernaut Koyie Hill caught something like 25 straight games or so, including a doubleheader, when Fox was the backup catcher. I think that tells you his potential to be a backup behind the plate
  13. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 12:55 PM) Too bad the Big 10 would never take ISU. I think switching out Iowa for ISU is a great idea for the Big 10, lets get this done
  14. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 08:39 AM) It's tomorrow. (Dec 4th) Best case scenario would be to draw South Africa, Algeria/Ghana, Slovenia Worst case would be Brazil, France/Serbia, Ivory Coast/Cameroon Oops, thought today was Friday already. Not the best way to start the morning. A Brazil, France, Ivory Coast, USA group would be a hell of a Group of Death
  15. World Cup Draw is today. USA & Mexico get hosed by getting put into a pod with the Asia teams & New Zealand despite their high rankings, which means they wont have any of them in their group. Hopefully they can get South Africa from the top pod, instead of one of the top seven.
  16. Awesome comeback for the Illini, what a roller coaster of highs/lows towards the team the last week. From 4-0 & ranked, to the two bad losses in Vegas to the god awful first half last night, now all of a sudden, theres a new found confidence in them. I know McCamey wasnt in there, but Weber has to teach them a lot about the press break, cause if they had that much trouble vs Clemson, Mizzou is gonna destroy them with their style of play. Stop letting Tisdale bring the ball up, dont pick up your dribble alone by the back baseline, and please no more 10 second violations. I agree Jeff Jordan is bad at basketball. He's an offensive liabaility, he can sometimes keep a defender with the ball in front of him, but thats about it. I dont know what Alex Legion's deal is, but it would be nice if he could live up to 25% of his recruiting hype. Overall, great job by the juniors & 2 freshman to take control of the game and will us to victory. Hope they can start putting it all together and playing full 40 minute games like that, not turning it off for long stretches of time. I gotta feeling that Brandon Paul is not gonna be at Illinois for 4 years. Way to go Big Ten, its about damn time!
  17. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 09:43 AM) We should make it painless whatever it is after all the pain he caused us, why should we afford him the same luxury???

  19. Good signing, Wagner looked good with the BoSox, and should probably only get better as he heals from surgery. I wonder if this signing pushes Soriano to free agency to be a closer somewhere. His stuff is nasty, if they hold onto him, thats a pretty solid 8th/9th inning combo they will have going.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 11:31 PM) So I saw that Mike McKenzie got picked off the street and played really well for the Saints against Brady and the Pats offense. I also thought that the Bears needed some god damn help in the secondary. I also knew that Nick Roach sucked at being a line backer and that anybody off the scrap heap could have been better. I guess Bears management didn't know any of this before they signed Cato June when the team is now out of playoff contention. Way to stay on top of the game. I agree about the June signing. You lose one starting LB in the 1st game, another starting LB for the first few games, then for the season, and you wait until now to sign another LB? They probably could have used him about seven games ago. I'd rather just find some young guy, undrafted free agent or something, let him play, maybe you find a keeper for the future. This season is over anyway. The Saints also signed Chris McAllister a few weeks ago who was a FA too
  21. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 08:00 AM) So Roy Jones Jr. got his clocked cleaned within 2 mins tonight by Australia's Danny Green. Green could fight Bernard "The Excecutioner" Hopkins next. As for Jones, stick a fork in him, he's done. Saw him against Calzaghe at the Garden last year and he's pretty much got nothing left. Been a great fighter, but it's time to move on as De La Hoya did after he got smashed by Manny. wow, Jones is done. He had such a great career, but his legacy might get a bit tarnished cause of the losses he has piled up in the past few years. There goes the big payday he was looking for to fight Hopkins, although he was reportedly paid $10 million to go down to Sydney to fight Green. ESPN is reporting that Mayweather accepted terms for a Pacquiao fight. March 13 is the proposed date, which was up in the air cause of the Jones/Hopkins fight, but thats probably not happening anymore. Cowboys Stadium & the Superdome are vying for the fight, although I would think it ends up in Vegas somewhere. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/ne...tory?id=4705330
  22. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 08:12 AM) Another Florida Gator player arrested today. This time its starting DE Carlos Dunlap for DUI. Let's see if Meyer finds a way to let this kid play. undefined Give Meyer some credit, I'm sure he will suspend him for one game.....September 4, 2010 vs. Miami (Ohio)
  23. no way they offer either of them arbitration. Can't risk Dye accepting and having to pay him $11 mil again, same with Dotel at $6 mil or more
  24. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 11:19 PM) This is how I see Chicago sports relevance/success over the next 2 years: 1. Blackhawks 2. Cubs 2. Sox 4. Bulls 5. Bears Cubs and Sox tied at 2. It all depends on what bats that KW can acquire. Relevance and success dont necessarily go hand in hand, especially in this town with a team like the Bears involved. As far as success goes, I agree with you. Cubs/Sox will be a toss-up, Sox have the better young core, but the Cubs still have Wrigley, which means they will have some $$$ to spend despite their big contracts. Whether or not they learn to spend it right is another story. Unless the Bulls can add Lebron/Wade/Bosh, they dont have much to build around Rose to build a champion. And the Bears have too many holes to fill to get it turned around quickly. However, they will still probably be the most relevant, thats just how this town runs.
