  1. Hawks finally back home...lines are getting shuffled tonight. Sharp is moving up with Hossa and Toews. Kane is moving to the line with Versteeg and Big Buffs...
  2. why is Boston seem to be so willing to trade Ellsbury? A great leadoff hitter, young, probably still cheap, I would think you would want to hold onto him.
  3. I'm sure everyone was watching, but the CFL Grey Cup had a crazy ending. Montreal, down 2, missed a 43-yard field goal at the end of the game. But Saskatchewan had too many players on the field, so Montreal got to try again and made a 33-yarder to win it all. I can't imagine if a Super Bowl were to end that way, the media bashing would be crazy
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 27, 2009 -> 11:55 PM) All signs point to Florida. and its official, Florida it is
  5. zook used to have his recruiting prowess to lean on as a reason to keep him around, but hes starting to lose that now too
  6. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Nov 27, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) maybe it has something to do with hitting a hydrant or something? oh yeah, forgot they can charge you for hitting one even if its an accident.. starting to all sound like the media made a big deal out of nothing
  7. alcohol not involved, but charges are pending...interesting
  8. wow, cant believe hes only 32. He fell off so badly, I assumed he was much older. Guess it probably had more to do with roids, but at least at that age, he still has a chance to figure it all out again and contribute.
  9. If this keeps up, we are a lock to win the 2001 World Series Not sure what he has left, but for 500k you can always cut him if hes real bad. Hopefully hes no more than a power bat off the bench Is he still any good defensively in the outfield??
  10. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 05:26 PM) That would be a mistake to deal Sharp. Definitely, if they dealt him, I'd have to buy a new jersey to wear to games. I also heard Versteeg is a possibility to be traded too. If the salary cap is preventing them from signing the extensions with the big 3, just agree to the terms, shake hands, and sign them in the offseason, so you can keep this team together.
  11. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 22, 2009 -> 11:14 PM) Tottenham beat Wigan 9-1 today. Not like Wigan were supposed to win that match, but to lose 9-1, that's pretty bad indeed. Wigan players are reimbursing any fans who traveled to the Tottenham game, cause they felt so bad they lost by so much
  12. Jesse Rogers just said on AM 1000 that for the Sharks game, the line will be Kane-Toews-Hossa
  13. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 01:46 PM) It wasn't a sucker punch apparently. ND is trying to spin the story. http://www.southbendtribune.com/article/20...979/1001/Sports i actually went to that CJ's Pub after the USC game last month, that place has some awesome burgers & wings
  14. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 11:27 AM) EVERY relief pitcher, sans Rivera, can be frustrating. Betancourt is a good one, and would be a nice addition. Frustrating and hard to predict. We won the WS with freaking Cliff Pollite and Neal Cotts as our main L/R set-up guys with ERAs of 2.00 & under. Cliff was out of baseball in a year and Cotts has never had another season with an ERA of under 4. Half of the time finding relievers can be just based on good or bad luck
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) I still believe people are using selective memory in thinking of Tony Pena's "failure" with the White Sox. They have had better relievers before, but he was actually pretty solid for the Sox. 3.75 ERA, 1.36 WHIP with the Sox Definitely could have given up a few less baserunners, but you can do way way worse for a middle reliever. The Cubs just got a few prospects from Zona for Heilman who was worse than Pena
  16. QUOTE (balfanman @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 11:12 AM) Same here. The question should be is Thomas a unanamous first ballot choice. If Cal Ripken & Tony Gwynn recently weren't unanimous, then I'm sure Big Frank won't be, although that strictly has to due with the d-bag ness of a few voters, which is a whole other topic
  17. I think he should easily be a first ballot hall of famer His first 7 full seasons, he had .300 BA, 20 HR, 100 RBI, 100 R, & 100 BB...I think like only Ted Williams and maybe someone else did that 7 straight
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) http://boxing.about.com/b/2009/07/04/floyd...ut-of-money.htm maybe he's good at getting money for fights, but after that... well, he's probably not the greatest money man, this is just one of many stories, just google Mayweather money problems and over the last year many stories like this exist last year someone broke into his house and stole $7 million of jewelry....I cant imagine what $7 million of jewelry even looks like and why a man would need that or have it just laying around the house
  19. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 11:13 PM) Not to flame and possible fires, but this is a must post. ND fan sucker punches Clausen after UConn loss If the fan is so mad about ND's season, I find it funny that he punched Clausen. If it wasn't for the offense of Clausen/Tate, ND might only have 2 or 3 wins. He would have been much better served going after a defensive player
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 09:32 AM) Yeah, this is definitely my first thought on the fight, but I just think at the end of the day there is so much money in a fight like this that he will end up doing it. The argument is who gets the larger than 50% chunk of the pot. Mayweather's argument got a little weaker since Meltzer had Pacquia/Cotto at 1.25 buys, larger than Mayweather's last fight. I can't see this happening until August/September of 2010. I think Pacquiao probably deserves more than 50%, but theres no way Mayweather accepts that. I can see him holding out forever unless he gets over 50%
  21. Unless Schaub and AJ can outscore Bironas by 41, looks like I am losing to the 0-10 team. And the team I am tied with in first in my division, won by 3, and also has two wins by one point margins over the 0-10 team. Ugh, now I remember why I like fantasy baseball so much better
  22. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 22, 2009 -> 01:50 AM) Start one. well now there is one, although it probably should have went in the i'm drunk in 2009 thread
  23. This board has been missing a boxing thread, so here is the start.... Are we finally going to get a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight??? I think its gonna happen
  24. so theres a UFC thread and a wrestling thread but no boxing thread...whats up with that???
