QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 08:22 PM) Has Stan Simpson been playing for Illinois or what's the deal? Loved him as a senior at Simeon. Didn't see him play in HS, but wouldnt be surprised if he transfers soon, seems to be getting passed up in playing time by freshman already. Dominique Keller went to the Shawn Marion school of jump shooting...but dude can play -

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 11:36 PM) 12 goals in the first 2 of the circus trip. Yeah, I'll take it. Hopefully it keeps up in Vancouver tomorrow. in case they dont keep it up in Vancouver, dont worry they will just add Marian Hossa when they get to Cali... -
QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 10:13 PM) Is Matsui "done" in the outfield? How are his legs? Girardi kept him out of the lineup in Philly in the WS instead of playing him in the OF....pretty sure hes DH only

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 04:18 PM) It's amazing to me how guys like T-mac and AI are like no longer wanted. lol. Seems like just a few years ago these guys were dominating the league. and Iverson refuses to accept the fact that he is too old to lead a team playing 40 minutes a game. If he could accept that he is valuable coming off the bench playing 20 minutes a game, a lot of teams would have him. But he has too much pride to come off the bench and not be the alpha dog -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 02:54 PM) If they could unload Campbell, things would be awesome. if they can shed that contract, the next 5 years at the least would be set for awesomeness (not that they aren't already looking good) -

QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 01:14 PM) just for an entertaining clubhouse, for KW's next move he ought to sign Jose Mesa as a setup man. they could have a battery of Joe Table and Hank White....i like it! -

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 12:36 AM) on a side note, Huet with 5 wins in a row, allowing 9 goals over that time period. Me likey he's 5th in the league with a 2.17 GAA. His save % is .907 which is like 24th in the league, not to knock him, but shows how well our defense is playing and keeping the number of opponents shots low khabi has a 3.03 GAA -
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 10:47 AM) I will watch it. The first "Real Life: Jersey Shore" they did with the guy Tommy was easily one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life, although if they film the series tongue in cheek (the producers, not the subjects) it will probably lose some of the comedy, but I will give it a try. I agree, that True Life:Jersey Shore was so awesome to watch, Tommy was just ridiculous. I am definitely gonna watch this new one too. "Fist pumpin like a champion"? Ha.

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 10:37 AM) Kenny is a sissy. He would lose if he ever went in. So pissed we have to wait til next week. Dunbar should knock off Johnny. Dunbar is a monster. The fight wasn't what I expected. Prettu dumb for Darrell to lose all that money over a drunk guy. Needs to control himself better. Totally. Brad could barely stand on his on two feet, but as soon he called him a b****, Darrell's pride just took over and he just had to go after him. Way to throw away an easy 33k. I hope they make the final challenge something that gives the challengers a chance, maybe several puzzles or something just to make it interesting.

somebody gave Dan Haren a 3rd place vote over Carpenter??? Looks like someone stopped watching baseball after July...

pretty much what I expected this winter when they added the two $10+ million contracts in the fall...but in no way does this mean there will not be any more big moves, just means it will have to be via trade...which we all know KW seems to enjoy and excel at -

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 06:22 AM) The only team I can honestly think of is Atlanta. They were after Campbell when they signed him, and they need to improve quickly if they want to re-sign Kovalchuk long - term. With Huet, he's got what 2 years left on his deal after this season IIRC, so the Hawks could probably dump that contract if they had to, just wouldn't get much in return. Sopel, well we'd be lucky to get anything for a 6th/7th d-man making that type of $$$. In the end, I think we'll trade Huet, go with a Niemi / Crawford platoon next season, and try to get under the cap that way. I dont know if signing an overpaid defenseman with a huge contract is the best way to appease Kovalchuk, especially since his contract is gonna be worth a lot of money as well. -

TSN Canada reporting deals are imminent, Kane & Toews getting 5 year deals worth over $6 million each, and as said above, Keith will sign a 13-year deal. Article has a good break down of next year's potential salary cap too. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=298728 -

from watching the Illini last night (albeit on espn360.com), to the Gonzaga/MSU & Memphis/Kansas games, I gotta say I am so glad college basketball is back Wofford won at Georgia last night. Illinois plays Wofford at the Hall next week and @ GA at an off-campus stadium next month....looks like the first game may be tougher.. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Jauron is gawn I'm sure watching the Browns last night and realizing their only win was 6-3 in buffalo when their QB completed 2 passes for 17 yards pushed them over the edge to do it now -
voting wasn't even close, Greinke 25 first-place votes & 3 second-place. Felix - 2 1st-place, 23 2nd-place, 1 3rd-place (wasn't named on 2 ballots?) Of course a writer from Michigan gave Verlander the other 1st place vote
