  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 07:09 PM) So for our last exhibtion game on Saturday we get to play Southern Indiana and THE Jamar Smith. Thought some of you U of I fans might find that interesting. SIU pulled out a two point win with a last second tip-in. Jamar put up 23, 11 of those in the fourth. Dude could have been good in division one, but he has no one else to blame except for himself for his problems
  2. QUOTE (The Bones @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 03:12 AM) Spoilers!!!
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 7, 2009 -> 11:50 PM) Back to the Bulls... What part of losing Miller, Ty Thomas, Hinrich, Salmons and Tim Thomas is appealing to a free agent? cause you get to play with Derrick Rose
  4. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 02:00 PM) Boers and Berstein are talking about how Pods wanted a 2 year 15 million dollar deal. Bernsie is the #1 anti-Pods guy in the world, so he had to love that. Just cause his contract demands are too high for KW, doesnt mean other teams will accept them. Will be interesting to see if/when he signs and for how much it actually is for
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 01:29 AM) I did too. Hell, i hated him in college. I thought he was a punk. He's grown since then, i never thought he be showing the potential that he is now. i concur, i hated him in college too, was so mad when the Bulls drafted him, still dont like him, still think hes a punk. But I gotta say hes changed from just a tall athletic guy to an actual basketball player, and he still has room to get better
  6. awesome ending in the Houston/Tulsa game. down 8, Houston scores a TD with 21 secs left, gets sacked on the 2pt conversion, recover the onside kick, get about 30 yards in 18 seconds, and kick a 51 yarder to win it. the game won me a spread confidence pool, which is nice. Houston may move in the top 10 this week, they are an offensive juggernaut, but god forbid they even attempt to play defense
  7. Reed Johnson = Aaron Rowand Jr...no thanks. I concur about Marlon Byrd...signing him, probably at a decent price, would be a great move
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 01:47 PM) Gomez hit .229/.260/.354/.614 against the Sox last season. to that Hawk says, "Don't tell me how many he hit, tell me when he hit them"
  9. BYU/New Mexico womens soccer game turns into a cat fight
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 01:22 PM) Well, the one thing this trade does is increase Beckham's chances at making the Hall of Fame. I thought he was already a first-ballot lock
  11. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 01:02 PM) Why would he be available? Cause the Royals are dumb??? I'm sure hes not available, but I can hope, cant I???
  12. i clicked on this thread hoping to see Billy Butler's name in it
  13. I wonder how much hes asking for and if any other teams are gonna be willing to pay it either
  14. QUOTE (TheBigHurtShallRiseAgain @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 12:22 PM) KW says Teahen is now the starting 3B and Beckham is starting second baseman. According to Cowley. hmmm, i like him much better at 3B then RF. Only two spots left to fill are a corner OF and a DH...
  15. wow, looks like I am in the minority on this. I understand UCF might have told him he could wear the Nikes, but sorry it didnt work out with Adidas, sorry. You are still a scholarship student-athlete at a university, they are paying for your education. (I realize he could pay for it himself, but being a scholarship student-athlete is a privilege, not a right.) Adidas provides the university with athletic gear for every sport, and now they canceled the contract so you can wear your daddys shoes.
  16. i like this trade. From Ocab to Hardy is a downgrade IMO, he doesnt seem to fit into the Twins small ball game plan, although leaving the Metrodome changes that too. He does get on some big HR binges from time to time, but like earlier person said, very inconsistent And no more #1 D-bag Carlos Gomez!!!!!
  17. Girardi helps a motorist in a crash at 3 AM driving home from game 6. Him & Pettitte both drove through a drunken-driving checkpoint set up near there. If I ever won a World Series, I definitely wouldnt be in any condition to make it through a DUI checkpoint... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs/200...tory?id=4625899
  18. way to go jordan. Pretty selfish move to cost your school the contract that supplies all its teams with their athletic gear cause you want to wear your daddys shoes. I'm sure Nike was so concerned whether or not a crappy player on a crappy conference USA team was wearing their shoes.
  19. QUOTE (Fantl916 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) Yea i'm with Kalapse here... i think something isn't being said yet for a reason... im getting the feeling that this trade isnt just teahen for getz and fields... something else is coming our way or the players involved are incorrect... Billy Butler
  20. QUOTE (AssHatSoxFan @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 10:35 AM) I need to vent about my dumbass commish who won't allow my Sproles for Jennings trade through. I think we can all agree that Jennings is the much better player but he hasn't done much this year. My feelings are unless it is collusion or involving injured guys the commish shouldn't block a trade, especially when there were no complaints I dont see how he can not allow that trade. First of all, each team's needs are the most important factor, not that the talent level is perfectly equal. Yeah, Jennings should be the better player, but has been about equal to Sproles this year, and how can you be sure he will even turn it around? Sproles still gets touches behind LT, and with LT's fragile nature, he can suddenly become a starter any day
  21. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 12:37 PM) [/b] Yes. Who steals a base? Who leads off? Alex Rios?
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 11:50 AM) Great signing. Such a versatile bench player. Key word, BENCH PLAYER. ^^^^^^^^^
  23. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 11:42 AM) Here's my thought on it. Starting pitching isn't the reason we lost last year (other than Jose sucking a bunch early). It was offense and bullpen. So far we have not resigned one of our better hitters last year (and we most likely won't), picked up a guy with a .754 OPS. I know I'm freaking out, I know it's not totally logical, but I keep having visions of the following and it scares me to death. Nix 2B Beckham 3B CQ LF PK 1B Kotsay DH AJ C Rios CF Teahen RF Alexei SS AHHHHHH why not Rios in the leadoff spot instead?
  24. gonzales is reporting the trade on the Trib website, but hes also only quoting the NY times report
  25. QUOTE (balfanman @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 10:45 AM) Maybe not straight up but it depends on who else would be involved. we all know KW likes to make the big splashes, but I think Gordo is the one player thats not going anywhere
