Rafael Soriano please -
Wow, Twins down 12-1 after 2 vs. Oakland. Thats 2 out of 3 games their pitching gets demolished by the hard-hitting A's.

Pitt Post Gazette Reporting Adam LaRoche traded
LittleHurt05 replied to Kyyle23's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 11:30 AM) Lowell might be out for the year, so they'll move Youkilis to 3rd base. I hate watching LaRoche hit, so I'm very happy the White Sox didn't get him. If our backup first baseman is just gonna swing for the fences and strike out a lot, I would much rather have it be Fields instead of LaRoche -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 08:02 AM) I was dragged to the Billy Joel/Elton John concert last night... but it was quite enjoyable. I went to the show on Thursday, it was a good time, but the people watching was just incredible...

Will the Indians deal C.Lee? Disco Dem. story
LittleHurt05 replied to caulfield12's topic in The Diamond Club
He only makes like $7 or 8 mil next year, which is a steal, but the issue is none of their other starting pitchers are any good, which will keep them from competing next year either way. With the favorable contract, they should be able to get a pretty good deal for him -
Should be interesting tonight, as bad as Harden has been at Wrigley, especially during the day, his numbers on the road have been way better than his career numbers. The Phillies are the hottest team in baseball right now and mash at home, but they do strike out a ton, and Harden strikes a lot of hitters out.

With Reyes, Beltran, Delgado, & Putz all on the DL, I dont think Halladay helps them get in the playoffs this year anyway

QUOTE (zenryan @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 11:33 AM) I agree. I thought the second episode was a lot better than the season premier. The Seth Rogen jokes were funny, especially the look on Drama's face when his girl admitted to screwing him. I wonder what Rogen did to piss of the Entourage writers. Also liked the part when E deleted and Sloan's text and proceeded to go to that other girl's place. But couldnt the casting department find someone who didn't look like one of the Olsen twins? Yuck.... Seriously, that girl was not attractive whatsoever. I liked how he was ignoring Sloan at the end but going from Sloan to that chick...ouch

From what we've been hearing, sounds like this was in the works for a while, especially with Rocky & McDonough as the new bosses, wanting their guy in the position. The issue with the late qualifying offers gave them a better reason/front to do it right now and not wait til later. -
I dont know what they expected Acta to do with that roster and that bullpen. Mike MacDougal is their freaking closer for gods sake. I dont think any manager could have done that much better with that team.

Everytime I hear or read the words "Danny Wright" it makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth...

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 06:56 PM) and they still have a LONG time and a lot of money on that contract don't forget the full no-trade clause as well...

http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_ma...-he-stays-.html Dallas signs Marcin Gortat to a 5 year, $34 million offer sheet. Dont see Orlando matching that one. I'm Polish, so I'm super happy for the guy, but I dont see him as more than a backup center playing 15 min a game, seems a bit high for him -
Before anyone even asks the question, no we should not even think about going after him. Hes bad.

For all the talk about the grievances, Versteeg is the only one left that can still take advantage of it, all the other guys signed. Does anybody know if they have Hossa jerseys/shirts for sale anywhere in Chicago yet? I've looked online and it seems like they dont have them yet. -
QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:36 AM) Buehrle is due to throw Sunday so he probably won't pitch in the ASG Wouldnt he be able to pitch just one inning? When is the usual bullpen day, 2 or 3 days after a start?

QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:51 AM) He is on an absolute tear this year and if he stays healthy and survives his elbow problems stand to the best non-steroid or juicer candidate to break the modern HR record of Hank Aaron. I reject Bonds as the record holder due to his juicing charges. He is on track to break the record in his 14-15th season (2015/16). Maybe sooner. Too bad he will never wear a Sox uniform. Pure hitter for power, average, high BB rate, OBP. Can't ask for more. I know hes never tested positive or been linked to a BALCO-like lab, but to me he definitely seems like he could be one of the juicers as well. I know we'll never find out the truth with most guys, but that thought will definitely always be there in my mind.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) The Cubs brass are a bunch of morons for taking this long to realize Jake Fox has a great bat. Granted Becks was way off the line there. Your best hitter gets hurt and misses two months, and you have this guy in the minors who can play his position. Instead, you keep trotting Fontenot and Bobby Scales out there.
