  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 2, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) I actually like Campbell. I think you are all very spoiled. On the Hawks you have keith, and everyone else at D. Seabrook has holes, Walk has holes, Soup has holes. He is an offensive minded d man and a pretty good one at that. You arent going to get a good return on him. Dont forget Campbell pulls at least 2 or 3 spin moves a game....no one else on the team spins like him...
  2. http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/hot_stov...als?eref=fromSI Juan Cruz over Kyle Farnsworth in the 8th is a huge upgrade for them, defintely makes the team better. I assume their 1st rounder was in the top 15, so they only give up a 2nd rounder.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 01:18 PM) Sage Rosenfels is the new starting QB for the Vikings. And once again, the Bears will have a chance to win the NFC North, simply because the rest of the division stinks...
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 10:06 AM) Robert Vaden: 0-17 from the field last night. 0-12 from behind the arc.....at least hes confident?
  5. Seriously, cant believe thats what I woke up to, especially after Stormin Norm passed in the morning. R.I.P. Johnny Red & Stormin Norm...
  6. U.S. Comiskular Field Wrigley Great American Ball Park (Cincinnati) Miller Field Yankee Stadium (old one of course)

  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 24, 2009 -> 11:37 AM) I think this could really be Alex Gordon's breakout year, but i do find that bullpen and the back of the rotation very questionable. Are you saying you dont like Kyle Farnsworth pitching the 8th inning???? Ha, what a signing that was. Yeah, after Meche, Greinke, and Soria, their pitching is definitely shaky. I can see the division winner only having like 85 wins, so a couple of the young guys improve a lot, get lucky with 1-2 pitchers and you never know. If I had to pick someone, I would pick the Indians to sneak past the Twins and Sox.
  9. This is such a tough division to call, I honestly could see all 5 teams winning the division, and yes, I am aware that this includes the Royals...
  10. QUOTE (rangercal @ Feb 24, 2009 -> 09:51 AM) yeah it was. It is probably going to be a shot that will be remembered for generations. It would be for sure if it came from Kobe or Lebron. just the fact that Iggy knocked it out of his hands, then Harris has about .5 seconds to catch it again and shoot it was unbelievable...
  11. I assumed Memphis had a solid non-conference slate to back up the top 5 ranking considering how horrible C-USA is, but turns out they have only beaten one tourney lock, and one team on the bubble...and one of their 3 losses was to G-Town, who looks like they have little to no chance to make the tourney.. Wins: @ Gonzaga, Cincinnati Losses: @ Xavier, @ Georgetown, Syracuse...
  12. Anybody know why Rose played so little in the 4th last night? He ended up with 26 minutes, but with 7 players dressed (hunter doesnt count), he should see way more time than that. just Vinny holding back the future of the franchise again?
  13. looks like for the 2nd time in my life I will be at Wrigley cheering on the Cubs, fiancee (cubs fan) got tix for game vs. the Tribe... couple years ago when Detroit was there, I was hoping the Cubs would help the Sox in the divison, and they got pounded like 8-0...thanks
  14. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 20, 2009 -> 08:08 AM) Well it is 1/4 of their season. What is the baseball penalty, 50 games? Yeah 50 games, which is 30% of the season, which is close. The funny thing is that with Bonds, A-Rod, Palmeiro, etc. anytime their name is brought up for the rest of history, steroids will be talked about as well. In the NFL, Shawn Merriman got busted with steroids, sat out 4 games, and its not even mentioned anymore, and people still talk about him as one of the best defensive players in the league.
  15. If there is one thing I have learned from this trading deadline, it is that a lot of NBA players make way, way too much money for being bad. Jerome James makes 6.8 million? Raef LaFrentz - $12 million??? Wally Szczerbiak - $13 million???? I am sure the list goes on and on but who in the world signed these players to these contracts??????
  16. i'll tell you one thing, Larry Hughes is gonna love it in NY under D'Antoni...just shoot the ball quickly and dont worry about playing defense...sounds like his type of game plan...
  17. Get ready to see a lot of Cubbie blue on that the front page of that site, thats for sure...
  18. As an Illini fan, I gotta say last night was disappointing but definitely not surprising. The reason we have won so many games and are ranked is cause of our defense, which played awesome again last night. But we still dont have any consistent scoring threats that we can count on if we are in a big offensive slump. McCamey, Davis, and Tisdale all go from having good games to not showing up other nights, Meachem had not done much in Big Ten play, other than the last 5 minutes at NW, and Frazier is a point guard who can lead/distribute but not much of a scorer. When our offense is clicking, it looks pretty good, but they are always suspectible to games like last night, especially against tougher defenses. Do Illini fans b**** about the refs? Totally. Do they do it more than other teams fans? Possibly. But check out any teams message board after they lose a big game, and there will be fans complaining about the refs everywhere. I hear the same complaints from teams after playing in Champaign all the time (except for PSU last night of course). Happens in the NBA too, its just the nature of the sport. And for Illini fan blaming the refs for having 0 FTAs last night, open your basketball eyes. Its hard to get to the foul line when your whole team, even your big guys, prefer jump shots as opposed to driving to the hoop.
  19. I think the bullpen will struggle with not having Marmol available to get out of those huge jams in the 7th/8th innings, Gregg cant strike people out the way he does. I also dont know if Marmol can hold up all year with all hes pitched last year and this winter/spring. That could cause them problems in the playoffs, but they have way too much talent for anybody to get even 8 games close to them in that division. Part of the reason they had all those lucky comeback wins last year was cause they were playing such horrible teams and horrible bullpens. Anybody see Lou trying to mention Ronnie WooWoo...Hilarious, This town definitely has the two best managers to interview..... http://www.nbcchicago.com/sports/baseball/...a-Cubs-Hat.html
  20. I dont understand how he can suspend him now, when during the years that he admitted to the steroid use, there was no penalty against it. You cant just make up penalties six years later.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 08:58 AM) So with the Thrashers awful season, is Kovalchuk on the trade block? That could be a good pickup for someone, that guy was all over the place last night
  22. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 08:33 AM) Nah, its the second biggest no brainer. Kobe was the first But giving up Luol Deng is too much just for Kobe...
  23. QUOTE (The Critic @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 08:20 AM) Have a great time, and fly the colors proudly....unless they're Blues colors, that is... Do they still play in what used to be called the Savvis Center? I had a fun time there a few years back - that's not a bad place to see a game at all! Its the same building, just called the Scottrade Center now. I went to the Hawks game there last month. Nice place, modern looking, nothing too special. One thing I did notice is that the arena is very blue. When you are in your seats, all the walls around you are solid blue, which makes it look weird. Fans were cool, good amount of smack talk back and forth but all in good fun. We were at the bar in the Sheraton across the street before the game...wow, talk about some strong drinks, definitely made Havlat's OT game winner a bit blurry in my memory.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 11, 2009 -> 11:45 AM) Not true, really. He makes tons of money and was in great shape, one would think he could get the best medications, etc. However, had he not known, he probably would be in trouble, though people can live with HIV for an extremely long time. He was 17 what? 20 years ago? Magic's had it about that long. However, just because he was raped when he was 17 that doesn't even mean that's when he contracted the disease. He could have contracted it any year since then, since it seems he's not a fan of using protection. Of course, hasnt everyone seen the South Park episode with Magic Johnson? The real cure of AIDS is $$$$$$$.
  25. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 08:10 AM) Dave was extra special in that episode. His "weapons" were hilarious, a glove with plastic utensils tied to the fingers("You guys want one of these babies, you are going to have to give me a week") and his garden hose tied to a watering can weapon, and also when the police came to the door and Dave was hiding on the windowsill and fell off. For sure, he was awesome. Seems like they have been giving the other characters larger roles, letting them sing their own songs, which I guess they can do since this episode has new songs written just for it. I think thats part of what has made it so good.
