  1. He didn't start the inning, but sure. The point was that Maddon cared so much about the R/L that he was hoping for Josh freaking Hader to come in and replace Corbin Burnes or whoever, as if Hader is some bum LOOGY that can only get lefties out.
  2. One-run must-win game in September, Josh Hader strikes out all six batters he faced on 24 pitches. And Joe Maddon brought in a gimpy hitter who couldn't hit anyway just to force Hader in the game. WS winning manger there.
  3. It's a 162 game season. There are ups, there are down, good teams look bad, bad teams look good, etc. Last year's team was on a 4-22 run in late July/August. Then the future WS champions came to town and the Sox swept them. This year's team just happened to have one of their best stretch when the Yankees and Red Sox were around, it happens. It's more randomness than the Kopech injury.
  4. I hope he's wearing an extra strong cup.
  5. As someone who was really into hip-hop in the 90s, I know I'm old and out of the scene when rappers keep dying left and right and I haven't heard of any of them.
  6. The Athletic steals Hawks beat writer Mark Lazerus and Chris Kuc, who is moving to the Capitals beat.
  7. Nagy blamed lack of preseason reps as part of the problem tonight? Um, the amount of reps was on you coach. Such a brutal loss, but the increase in talent showed, just very inexperienced coach and QB who need to grow. And of course the GOAT on the other sideline.
  8. These roughing the passer penalties have gotten out of control. This no using body weight rule is bad, called so many times today.
  9. Im not saying it has failed or its guaranteed to fail, it definitely hasn't and there still are reasons for optimism. My point was given the front offices track record, there wasnt much justification to put them in charge of the rebuild, other than a WS title more than a decade old. And blind loyalty.
  10. The inability of the front office to develop young talent is why the rebuild was necessary, yet that same front office is now in charge of developing young talent again. Really is mind blowing, but you cant fire the owner so here we are.
  11. Killa Kam meet Killa Kayleigh. Did not see that coming. And what a brutal elimination that was, it looked painful.
  12. I've accepted the news. All I can say is: Go Bears! See you guys in 2020.
  13. It's the risk you take when you choose to stockpile young pitching prospects. Bummer.
  14. For all the hype and excitement with the Mack trade, the Bears are still 7.5-8.5 point dogs Sunday night, that's like the 3rd biggest spread.
  15. Very true. A lot of the penalties are to blame on the players not the refs. Although their playoff game last January wasnt all that more exciting.
  16. They somehow went 12-9 in games Joe Mays started despite his 6.30 ERA. Then he was replaced by Johan freakin Santana. Meanwhile the Sox replaced Dan Wright with Neal Cotts and Mike Porzio. That's your 4 game difference.
  17. I'd be more bothered if he had hid the ball somewhere before the game started and had this planned out for weeks. It was a split second decision when you're trying to win. I wouldn't teach the move to my kids, but it's not pre-meditated cheating by any means.
  18. If he ends up playing that much, then possibly, but you couldn't be sure. Either way, it appears the Rams already used their franchise tag on their safety Joyner, so it wouldn't have been a possibility anyway.
  19. And if the refused to sign the franchised tag (like Le'Veon) then you just traded two 1st round picks for a guy to take zero snaps, think that would be too risky. It seems like the Bears were already taking contract with Mack before the trade was finalized.
  20. The NFL salary cap confuses me, but I can't imagine there is anyway the Rams could have signed Donald and Mack to the two highest defensive contracts in the league.
  21. He really needs to just give up on the pitching dream. He can still be a hell of a position player.
