  1. Agreed. Wonder if this is all Pace or it involves the McCaskeys putting their foot down as well.
  2. You know what would really help them go for it? Not trading your ace this past offseason for scraps. It's good for them to make a move, but being a Pirates fan has gotta be tough, perpetually stuck in mediocrity with another rich owner crying cheap.
  3. Less than 48 hours until the Bears kick off their first game, time to open the season thread. Still no Roquan Smith...
  4. They kept the squad together, are the Nats back?
  5. He definitely sounds like a bit of a drama queen, especially for someone as unproven as him and already 30 years old.
  6. Bryce Harper is not signing a contract extension now with anybody. Zero chance. Unless they offer him 10 years, $500 million, which no one is gonna do before the offseason.
  7. Person in charge of Yankees Twitter doesn't sound very excited.
  8. Memo to all players. Commit your domestic violence before you join the Astros, then you are all good.
  9. Their definition of a trade is pretty lenient there. It says there were 5 trades with Toronto since 2013, which had me surprised, but that's cause only one was really a trade. August 26, 2016. The Chicago White Sox traded Dioner Navarro to the Toronto Blue Jays for Colton Turner (minors). June 12, 2014. The Chicago White Sox purchased Matt Tuiasosopo from the Toronto Blue Jays. June 11, 2014. The Chicago White Sox purchased Shawn Hill from the Toronto Blue Jays. May 25, 2014. The Toronto Blue Jays purchased Hector Gimenez from the Chicago White Sox. April 1, 2013. The Chicago White Sox purchased Lars Anderson from the Toronto Blue Jays.
  10. Trea Turner has been a known prospect for a while, how has his agent not had his social media cleansed yet? Major fail by agents yet again
  11. Blackhawks fans were apathetic and didn't give a damn yet somehow they fill the stadium like crazy now. The Sox dont have the biggest fan base as it is, gonna look bleak at times now, but that first playoff game will be sold out. Hopefully it's in 2020, not 2030
  12. The complete ineptitude from 2014-2016? What about 2009-2013? It's all been the same but you cant fire the owner who prioritizes loyalty, so we just wear our Sox gear and hope they finally figure it out.
  13. Sean Newcomb gets one out from throwing a no hitter, gets exposed for old racist homophobic tweets. We have the #MeToo thread in the Buster, maybe we need an Old Tweets Exposed thread.
  14. When the Blackhawks say nothing and the media refuses to investigate or ask questions, it helps those message board rumors grow legs too. At this point, I feel like you cant count out any theory.
  15. Buffalo's first round pick linebacker was granted the contract language over the same issue. The Bears better not fuck this up. When it.comes to football, I always side with the players given their contracts aren't fully guaranteed and the life long consequences the game causes. https://theathletic.com/449703/2018/07/28/edmunds-helmet-rule/
  16. I hope this Lacy guy is good, because taking on Eddie Butler is the Rangers doing Theo a favor, he is bad.
  17. Last I checked, Corey sitting out for an undisclosed reason keeps butts out of the seats, we couldn't give away our tickets at the end of last season. What is their financial motive if the Hawks keep losing and he still says he cant play?
  18. The fact that there hasn't been a single leak or "source" hinting at the problem is crazy too. We have had crazy message board rumors from my sister's cop boyfriend, but absolutely nothing has come out from a trusted source yet. And Corey comes out and says I'm not 100% yet, but I'm getting there, but also mentions worries about his long term post hockey health. Yet there are zero questions about what his actual.injury is.
  19. Cleveland has absolutely moved Cody Allen around depending on the matchup, the Braves do the same with their relievers. I dont think it's a bad decision making thing, its simply more about talent. Most of those playoff teams have absolute stud relievers available at closer. The Mets and Ray's aren't losing because of their bullpen experimenting, it's simply because of talent. If they had Kimbrel or Chapman, they wouldn't need to screw around with the bullpen, I think that's the correlation to be found.
  20. They would like the DH added to the NL yesterday
  21. You weren't kidding about being a pessimist. It's simple, if the team wins, the fans will show up again, that's just how sports work. They may never be as popular as the Cubs again, but the Cell will be fully packed at the next Sox home playoff game, whenever that is. While they don't have a direct competitor in town, the Blackhawks are the perfect example. Early 2000s, they were getting 6k a night at the UC and nobody remembered they existed, the minor league team in town was more popular. A few Cups later and every kid in the city has Hawks gear, even those who have never ice skated once.
  22. Who are The Moonves? Old school soul group?
