  1. Yes, this is correct. It's kind of my shtick, but people in baseball are so quick to holler in amazement when GMs convince players to sign these deals, as if the players are having the wool pulled over their eyes. These players are human beings with bodies that may fall apart, especially pitchers. It was the right move by both Hahn and Jones at the time, this is an example of where the player erring on the side of caution may likely turn out to be the better move in the end.
  2. Another "team-friendly" deal that starts to tilt in the players' direction.
  3. While I disagree with his motives, I do support Trump's attack on Bezos. I feel like him and Amazon are getting out of control and it is gonna turn into one of those all-encompassing corporations we see in future sci-fi movies like Demolition Man or Idiocracy. He needs to be curtailed.
  4. If you ever wondered what umpires and managers really say to each other. (NSFW language warning)
  5. The #1 human rights violation he is known for is there is only one TV channel broadcast in the country and it shows nothing but 2018 White Sox baseball games with the Abreu at bats edited out.
  6. Its crazy, it's some NBA type off the court drama. Here is the link http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/mike-hoffmans-longtime-girlfriend-allegedly-behind-campaign-of-harassment-against-melinda-and-erik-karlsson?utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1528830528
  7. Nice try, nice effort Milwaukee. Even Josh Hader blew a game.
  8. Whoever had Dennis Rodman and Donald Trump in the Make Peace with North Korea pool, please collect your winnings at the window.
  9. You have control over his salary for the first 6 years of his major league career. I know you prefer players in their 30s, but that's ideal, no matter who the agent.
  10. It's funny how Trump has made it that two wrongs DO make a right. Just cause Trump is an awful individual, it's suddenly become OK for others to do the same.
  11. I don't have confirmed stats to back that up, but I think recent elections show it. In the last 20 years, each presidential election has been relatively close, a few percent difference, way less than some past routs we saw. Bi partisanism is gone and only a small percentage of people affect every election.
  12. 90% of the people who always vote strictly vote on party, so you don't need to campaign for them anyway. It's either convincing the 10% who do vote that are undecided or getting the non-voters off their asses. If you do that, you are all but guaranteed for their vote.
  13. Ovi sure knows how to celebrate a Cup win, that's for sure. I hope the other Caps still get their time with it too
  14. National people have actual discussions about both players. Chicagoans treat like a Chicago vs NY pizza debate and the insecurities come out flying. It's amusing to watch.
  15. I'm the same, it's my least favorite of the majors. Add in how slow and deliberate Nadal plays, it's not very appealing.
  16. The amount of energy Chicagoans put into the LeBron vs Jordan debate is staggering, it rivals the no ketchup on a hot dog intensity.
  17. Hum, very interesting. Two years ago who would have thought Kane would be the one praised so highly instead of Toews. The problem of Toews suddenly being average is the biggest hurdle to a Cup right now, whatever is going on, it's a problem.
  18. That was a great series, even with no overtime games. Well deserved for Ovi, what a career. But my favorite was the last two minutes of every game they were winning, he was losing his shit on the bench, but wasn't getting in a one goal game.
  19. Ovion the power play is so fun to watch. Everyone in the arena knows where the puck is headed and he still gets a shot in the net
  20. They're actually 6th in team ERA with all those no name starters they have. It was probably clinched when they scored 2 runs total in that 4 game series at Wrigley. They need every win in the standings they can get and they gave up all 4.
  21. If you keep repeating and repeating something, maybe one day everyone will stop presenting contrary facts to you and finally agree. Never give up.
  22. Cleveland did get their 1 championship, but typical for their city's sports history, they drafted a top 3 all-time NBA player, and got 1 title in 11 seasons with him.
  23. And that's the night the Cubs clinched their 4th straight division title. We can only hope the Sox rebuild is close to that successful.
  24. The won 4 of their next 5 games after "beating the Sox butts", then lost 5 of 6, kept being mediocre and are in 3rd place behind the rebuilding Tigers
