  1. I'll take the over on that because baseball. They swept the Astros last year.
  2. Run for the doomsday shelter!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!
  3. James Paxton no hits the Blue Jays. That's the third no hitter this season, all thrown in different countries.
  4. Another team friendly pre arb deal that worked out way better for the player. Although he has injuries as an excuse. Played 114 games in 2014 and was an All-star. Has played a total of 113 games in the 3+ years since.
  5. If this really happens, this is Jerry showing that he's still boss around here.
  6. He's also the first player I've seen to go on the DL with the flu. Not a bad move by the Cubs though, he only misses one start, it's the advantage of the 10-day DL instead of 15.
  7. I just can't root for a Vegas championship, nothing against the players, I enjoy watching them. I'll be annoyed that a city gets their first professional franchise ever and just cruises to the championship in their first year in the toughest playoff format. I'd rather see a city like Winnipeg win it, after all they went through with losing a team, then getting back and sucking, and hockey is their life blood. Them or I'm on Team Ovie, finally made it past the 2nd round, would love to see him raise the Cup.
  8. Standing up in front of everyone speaking at the Women's March, knowing in the back of his mind he would smack any of them around if he was alone in the bedroom with them. The world continues to amaze me.
  9. And the Lightning wouldn't be a new champion either, they already have a Cup.
  10. He's got a past tweet for everything!
  11. And Prior went to USC, which I feel has a negative connotation with the PED stuff. Guys like McGwire, Boone, Ensberg.
  12. That's a fair point. And they also completely whiffed on top 3 draft picks and yet are still the defending champs.
  13. If the Sox offer Machado 40 million dollars more than the Yankees, he will be on the South Side 99 out of 100 times.
  14. That doesnt matter. The top free agent last off-season signed with a team coming off 91 losses that will lose more this year. It's about money and which team is in the best position to spend it that off season. When these players have one, and one chance only, to sign a massive seven figure deal, they want to get paid.
  15. The real test is seeing if Hahn can convince Jerry to offer enough money to get free agents to come here. Fixed it for you.
  16. The Cubs weren't all promoted together. Almost the entire pitching staff was from outside the organization, as were a third of their starting position players. Bryant spent one season in the minors and has never missed the playoffs in the majors. Same with Schwarber. Rizzo was with two other franchises.
  17. With Hahn as the new face of the front office, it's easy to forget those things, that it's the same crew in charge that would have been fired by nearly any other owner in the league long ago. But they had a few trade assets that couldnt be screwed up and we have hope. Although a man named Red once told me hope is a dangerous thing...
  18. Kershaw to the DL with bicep issue. The world's most expensive DL just got a lot pricier
  19. And somehow he did it again, poor Toronto. At least they have the Maple Leafs!
  20. Bummer. Right as he started showing his true potential too.
  21. Realistically, this title window will be closed by 2023. 2019-2022 are the years to compete before players get too old, expensive, etc.
  22. The most important thing is who else will be good in the division. The playoffs are such a crapshoot, the #1 goal is to get there as many times as possible and winning the division is the easiest ticket. Luckily two of those teams should be complete crap for a while. The Indians are solid but may have some problems with salary raises soon. The Twins have talent, but also might struggle to add more. The wild card could have tough competition , but then again if a team like Houston dominates, they will win their division anyway. The National League teams are much less significant because if the Sox even make one World Series it would be a roaring success, let alone two or more.
