  1. I'm all for "Maybe Coop can fix him", but he sounds like a grade A jack ass and has little team control left. Pass.
  2. The top free agent this offseason signed with a team that lost 91 games last year and will likely lose more this year. $$$$ talks.
  3. Ignore everyone being too cool for school in this thread, it's the Cubs without question. It's a derby, it's the most attended series every season, it's the loudest the Cell will be all year, the media will preview it more than any other series. Rivalries are about the fans, and the Cubs are the rival the fans care about most. When the Sox are competitive, rivalries between the divisional teams start brewing again, but at times like now they are pretty dormant. With the new schedule format, each divisional team is faced 19 times, so it's hard to get too excited for a particular matchup if you aren't fighting for the postseason, especially when each team will win minimum 4 or 5 of those games given the nature of baseball.
  4. LeBron may have just destroyed an entire 6 million person metropolitan area.
  5. Pissing him off is worth the one year of control though. Whether.or not he likes it, he will have to be with the Sox for the next 6+ years. And if he wants future earnings to increase, he has to play well. The only negative could be when free agency comes, but in all honesty, if he plays as well as we hope, he'll be too expensive for the Sox anyway.
  6. In 2014, Kris Bryant had 297 PAs in AA with a 1.160 OPS and 297 PAs in AAA with a 1.036 OPS and the Cubs managed to keep him in the minors all year despite the league's top agent. At AA, Eloy had 73 PAs last year and 57 PAs this year with a .888 OPS. I think there's plenty of time for development in the minors and zero concern about being forced to call him up soon.
  7. I think the Athletic is getting too big, ha. I'm trying to control my timeline, but now that they have so many local beat writers, it interferes with the great national coverage they had and those are harder to find.
  8. Hall of Very Good IMO, but he's gonna get in because he's a Cowboy. Not a single season of 10 TDs.
  9. Jeez, everything that can go wrong is going wrong for LA
  10. Totally, he's the sober guy trying to distance himself from his friends, but he can't shake them. What a game tonight, it turns out when the two best teams play each other in round 2, it's gonna be fun. Winnipeg will be loud.
  11. After last night I will feel better if Vegas keeps advancing in the playoffs. You can't just show up to the party and never have your heart ripped out. Having an OT winner disallowed ranks up there, so now the fans have a better idea of how crazy playoff hockey can be
  12. Such a fine line has been created with players emotions and how they show them. Celebrate too much and you are a show boater who doesn't respect the game. But show nothing like our old friend Cutler, and you also get judged for not caring or respecting the game.
  13. Besides the obvious stupidness of what Perez is saying, someone should remind him that there's only about 6 or 7 players left from his World Series teams anyway.
  14. So is game 2 gonna be a bullpen free for all?
  15. Not a fan of how easily Pace trades draft picks, but it seems like every pick he made so far was a winner that makes the team better right away. While they aren't winning the Super Bowl next year, their window is also open sooner than later so I don't see a need to stockpile picks if you can get good players. Now we just hope the players live up to their draft grades, which never happens, lol.
  16. I just saw that Shazier walked on stage yesterday for the Steelers pick. That's awesome, they were so quiet on his progress and they always seemed to show him sitting, glad to see he's up on his feet.
  17. Like I posted earlier, every Georgia game I saw, Smith was the best player on the field, I like the pick.
  18. That's assuming a lot about the Giants. It could say way more about the Giants than the QBs.
  19. I'm never good at guessing how players talent and size will translate to the NFL, but whenever I watched U of Georgia, Roquan Smith was easily the best player on the field. From what I've seen, I'd be happy with that pick.
  20. The Laver Cup is at the UC in September, I'm pretty excited to try and attend, never been to a live tennis event. Unfortunately, Ticketmaster sales are a complete crock as usual. I had access to the Insider presale, the Chase presale, then the general public sale today. Not a single ticket available for any session in the 200 or 300 level. Just 100 level tickets galore, which range from $350-$400 for Friday during the day to $800+ for Sunday. Ugh.
  21. That is just crap. Eric Hosmer on the morning of April 26, 2017: .195/.253/.247 Eric Hosmer on the morning of April 26, 2018: .259/.364/.412
