QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 08:49 PM) 44 year old Bartolo Colon perfect through 7 innings... against the ASTROS at that.... The best part of near perfect games is glancing at the all time perfect game list. And seeing Philip f***ing Humber still on that list. Forever.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 12:58 PM) Add the Angels-Royals. That's 21. Angels have to go back to KC on June 25th. Make it 22. Red Sox Patriots Day morning game already called for tomorrow

Royals/Angels PPD due to fear of Ohtani. Yesterday they played in snow, today it was clear in the 30s and they PPD a few minutes before first pitch. Imagine the Royals saw him warming up and got scared.

Saw a discussion about how analytics have led to teams in the major sports maximizing efficiency to increase chances of winning. In the NBA, that's shooting more 3's and upping the pace of play. Good for fans. In the NFL, it's running more plays, spreading out your offense, keeping the defense on it's toes. Good for fans. In MLB, it's hitters seeing as many pitches as possible, while pitchers face less and less batters and more reliever changes. Not fun for the fans. You think starting pitchers are getting pulled early now, it's only gonna get worse as results are shown and teams win with longer bullpens. Baseball is gonna have to do something, but I'm no sure what, you can't just tell teams to stop trying to win efficiently.

QUOTE (reiks12 @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 02:00 PM) The Braves are looking scary, and Acuna is coming up soon. Scary is a perfect adjective for their bullpen today

Don't see how Sox/Twins get a single game in this weekend

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 06:33 AM) Angels Dodgers A's Mariners Jays D-Backs Brewers Astros Rangers Marlins Rays Giants Padres Braves Then you'd have to play day games somewhere where it can be warm like Washington or even Colorado or something (odd to read that at first but it is a weird weather-wise. Has days where it can be warm during the day and snow during the night. Was in the 80s this week). Except those teams won't accept 2-3 weeks of consecutive home games in April. They make more money at the gate in summer too. The only way to fix the cold weather problem is for owners to give up home games and income which is impossible. -

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 12:34 PM) Money has a way of changing players' minds, but he's already said he wants to play against Dallas twice next year. Good luck in Philly, Dez! A famous player well past his prime?? He's going to Washington, not Philly -

Did you read the first line? It's a spring training fluff piece for the Giants, and the answer is obviously no because many of their over 30 players are sucking right now. -

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 09:47 AM) I think you're really underestimating the amount of targets that will be coming Burton's way and how often he'll be lining up at WR. I don't think that solely justifies ignoring wide receiver depth again. With the tag, it just seems like another case where Ryan Pace thought he was the smartest guy in the room, but clearly wasn't. I do like the other offseason.moves, but this was a weird one. -

I agree that the Meredith situation is very weird. Now your third WR is either Josh Bellamy or Kevin White, neither of whom can be trusted. That seems no different than last year. Now they have to draft a guy early that can be depended on to perform in 2018. Two different teams had enough faith in Meredith's medicals to give him an offer. If the Bears didn't trust his knee, why give him the tag in the first place? -
QUOTE (Special K @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 09:30 PM) As a very brief aside, is the ‘05 team the last World Series team to win a championship without a bona fide star? The 2008 Phillies don't have any Hall of Famers

This may be an unpopular opinion, but If Gio has a similar career to Floyd, it would be a great outcome for the Sox.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 09:05 AM) Put $10 on Leishman to win it all in Vegas in October so gotta root for him. 45-1 Realistically, it's hard to handicap, so many of the top players and past Masters champions are in great recent form. Ill go with Rory though. My Leishman bet was fun for the first two rounds. Straight choke job Rory, he missed some easy putts early. But props to Reed for standing tall and hanging on. Although the stories about him are starting to come out

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 09:52 PM) Mike Matheny is horrible We often over dramatize how bad a manager might be and how much his decisions actually affect his team's record. But that's not the case with Matheny. He truly is that horrible and costs his team and franchise drastically in the win loss department. It can't be understated.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 10:22 PM) Sure, but there are so many parts and panels and s*** that come from there. People dont realize. Its gonna make things quite a bit more expensive Yes, the end game of it all will be higher prices on the everyday consumer. Corporations sure aren't going to let their profits dwindle as labor and parts costs may increase.

Another two part reunion finale? Do people actually enjoy watching that s***? Guess I'll wait until social media tells me who won the final. Pretty solid season though Im ready for the next season, but Champs vs Stars doesn't count, that's as unwatchable as the reunions

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 01:35 PM) JUST IN: China formally notifies World Trade Organisation it is suspending trade concessions to the United States on products including ethanol in response to U.S. duties on aluminium and steel - WTO document https://twitter.com/ReutersWorld/status/981...8177886208?s=20 Those easy trade wars I realize all the negative repercussions of this trade war, but it's hard.to be too upset in manufacturing cause Chinese steel is absolute s***, straight garbage. I've seen tools and parts fall apart because they used the metal from China.

Let's enjoy 1st place until the Indians go on their inevitable 17-1 run. If Fulmer can just be a #4 or #5 starter, that would be big.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 10:21 AM) Leroy’s game may be all about relationships, but at some point you have to prove yourself and not just ride the Bananas wagon every single season. I thought Tony’s reason for voting him in was just. Leroy has been terrible this season and was super aggressive during the troicha interview. And Cara was literally banging the other dude, what did Leroy expect her to do? I think it’s pretty s***ty that Leroy is even in the finals, but at least he had to prove himself to get in. Tonys reason was legit but like all season, he's just been making up s*** then saying something different at eliminations. But he has run the game, so I'll give him that. Hopefully Kyle or Leroy beat him in the Final.
