  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 21, 2018 -> 10:36 PM) One thing is for sure. SNL hit a home run last year with all the funny Trump stuff. Saturday's show was filled with Trump stuff and it was boring. SNL needs to move on. That was last year; this is now. Trump stuff has not been funny, SNL. They need some fresher stuff. One skit was unwatchable. A game show called "Does it Even Matter?" The questions were all about Trump and his atrocities with the punch line "does it even matter?" The guests would say yes then the game show host would freak out about trump and say nothing matters. The audience was taken aback by how boring the skit was. Unfunny. Weekend Update has gotten so, so bad. They just need to have Kate McKinnon perform in every single sketch.
  2. That was the worst game I've ever seen Duncan Keith play.
  3. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 08:59 PM) Yea Brady is in the Super Bowl again. Way. To. Go. Do their fans even care about regular season games anymore? I love watching the White Sox so much on a summer night that I don’t think I’ll get spoiled. I may desire to see them get a bigger challenge though after 4-5 straight championships. Maybe MLB will consolidate the NL into one super team to try to beat the Sox...which will still not be enough, but at least competitive. Eloy Jimenez has another 80 HR season?? Meh, been there, done that.
  4. As we all predicted, Tennys Sandgren or Hyeon Chung will be in the semifinals.
  5. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 08:37 AM) I tend to think the same thing, but you have to admit the Patriots Super Bowls have been pretty good. Couple games with winning field goals at the end. Even the losses had some crazy moments with Eli making insane plays. Crazy INT at the goal line. Overtime game. I'd say the one game they played that was really boring was the last time they played the Eagles. Even that game came down to the end. The Patriots vs Panthers is still one of my favorite Super Bowls. It is pretty crazy, of their 7 Super Bowl appearances under Brady, last year was the biggest final victory margin, and that was 6 points in Overtime.
  6. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 08:16 AM) 2 of the most annoying fanbases in sports are in the SB. Interest in this year's SB will be very very low for me. However, the videos of Eagles fans destroying Philly win or lose will be worth it IMO.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 21, 2018 -> 08:09 PM) The tickets brokers are now going to take just a small bath...but all the Philly fans will somewhat offset that. Of course, it would have greatly motivated Eagles' and Pats' fans to be able to leave in early February for an actual warm weather site. That will come back to haunt the NFL...what can you do besides go to the Mall of America and look at the frozen source of the Mississippi River? Dude. Do you really think Eagles fans would pass on the Super Bowl because it's in a cold weather town? The game is in indoors. It's the Super Bowl, not the Capital One Bowl
  8. The Vikings D has just completely quit playing since halftime last week.
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 21, 2018 -> 05:06 PM) This is why Tom Brady is the GOAT. Yeah, what he and Belichik have done is pretty amazing, especially in this era. There seems to be so much parity in the NFC , but the Patriots control the AFC. I do think they belong linked together, cause the rest of the roster keeps turning over and performing too. The Jaguars did get too conservative, either they trusted their defense too much or didn't trust Blake Bortles.
  10. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 21, 2018 -> 03:44 PM) Lol That call was legit, that DPI was highly questionable. In real time it seemed like he straight pushed him.out of bounds, but the replay looks more like good, tight coverage. They definitely weren't calling that in the Steelers game.
  11. Could Gronkowski even pass concussion protocol normally?
  12. Lol, those two penalties looked pretty legit to me.
  13. The Jags defense can easily cause havoc on the Pats offense, we've seen defenses win big playoff games recently. But it's so hard to believe Blake Bortles can win a game like this, especially against Belichik who will have something up his sleeve for him. Pats 20-17
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 04:53 PM) Lie detector treats are garbage pseudoscience and that was a decent joke. Thank you!
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 12:58 PM) So according to In Touch magazine, Stormy Daniels passed a lie detector when she talked about her affair that now has never happened with Trump back in 2011. A porno actress passed a lie detector test? I can't imagine she has ever faked anything in her life.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 01:55 PM) Baseball players make an exorbitant amount of money. I don't feel bad for them, and no one else should either. Yet everyone seems to feel bad for the owners having to spend money, even though they are all 10x richer than the players.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 06:50 PM) What point are you trying to make? What, on a first date, a formal declaration? Asking if she wants to have sex? Are we to that point? I think many people (I hesitate to say most lest I be called some kind of scumbag) have had one night stands in which (whether you were in college or not, uh beer beer beer and more beer and parties parties and more parties) things just sort of happened. I'm all for changing society and making it a formal question on every date if that's what this has come to. Making it illegal to have sex unless a formal question has been asked for permission. And perhaps we should tape the exchange and/or sign documents agreeing to sex. I'm all for gentlemanly behavior at all times, but it seems to me because of the nature of some of these incidents of he said/she said, we perhaps should go to a formal written contract saying both parties agree to sex. If you are a celebrity you certainly have a career to lose in a second even if wrongly accused and you did nothing wrong. Better to get it all in writing in the future. If you are into the wilder lifestyle you could carry contracts around much like people carry anything else in their wallet or purse. It's OK to redefine legally what is allowed to happen on a date. greg, you are about 13 years too late on this idea https://vimeo.com/183089808
  18. QUOTE (wrathofhahn @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 12:06 PM) The problem isn't an unwillingness to spend it's the recognization that spending does not equal wins. For example Stanton he was supposedly one of if not the best players in baseball. Marlins didn't even make the playoffs. The MLB isn't basketball where you can just sign Lebron and sim to the playoffs. You have to actually have a solid foundation behind Stanton and the problem is you can't do it in a feasible way via FA. Number one starters get paid 30 million. Number 2 get around 20. Number 3 get in the 15 million range. Number 4 10-12. Number 5 get around 5-8 million. Closers the top FA ones get paid around 15-18 million. Setup guys around ten million. Decent middle relievers get around 4-7 million. Thats well over 100 million before getting into position players. Owners are tired of setting money on fire and frankly I don't blame them and yes part of the issue is the smart teams have realized that the path to success is through filling the team with controllable talent then signing the top guys but raising the price on controllable talent is not the solution and will only cause FA prices to drop further as the top teams will have less money to spend. What we are seeing is a market correction. Once you take a look at FA and see a market where you could build a team via free agency then you'll start to see more teams engaged. Boras has done a good job of inflating prices for teams. So basically the owners are pocketing more money and players are earning less and less. That has all the making of another labor stoppage.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 09:09 AM) MLB Media/Bam Tech/Disney are the real winners, compared to the local radio rights deals. It’s not like the past, when Cards or Royals games were advertising the product/brand across thousands of miles of Heartland. The owners who received $50 million each for selling Bam Tech are the real winners.
  20. I imagine that when the producers planned that soccer elimination, they assumed at least one UK rookie would have been thrown in there. That was ugly. And Nelson cracks me up, he tries so hard to be as cool as Cory, but he's not even close.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 10:05 AM) MUCH worse. But since nobody cares about Gymnastics, it wont get nearly as much press. This guy is a f***ing monster. I agree, it is much worse, but college football sells more papers so that was talked about way more. Using your status as a trusted medical professional to have your way with these girls is awful. Listening to some of the victim statements has been tough. And now this asshole is pleading to the judge to end the victim statements because his poor little mind can't handle the pain. Get f***ed, you got your pleasure off of them for 30 years.
  22. I'd buy a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label with the money
  23. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 04:53 PM) So how does Sling TV work? You just cast it to chromecast or firestick onto your TV? Is it something that a smart TV can access without those? I know nothing about Sling. You've peaked my interest. Apparently newer model Samsung and LG TVs can access it directly, but I bought my Samsung two years ago and it was too old. So I got the Fire Stick to use on the TV. Chrome cast or Roku work too, I'M sure there are others. Then download the app and it works just like regular cable TV. They have two base packages for $20 or $25 a month, then multiple a la carte packages of channels, like a kids package, comedy, sports, premium channels, etc. You have way more control over which channels you wish to pay for, as opposed to Comcast. They are missing some channels like CBS so it's not perfect. It is month to month which is great. The sports package with Red Zone is something I don't need now, but I can sign up for it in the fall for 4 months.
  24. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 07:30 AM) Luckily Bowman started the "getting younger" theme in time. They've got guys now that look the part and a few promising prospects in the cupboard, but it's a bit dire from a couple of contracts. If Crawford is indeed done, no excuse not to play the 24 year old Forsberg and see what you have in him. They definitely have made the overall roster younger. The young guys just need to figure it out sooner rather than later, because it won't do as much good in a few years when they get expensive and the big core contracts are older and still untradeable
