  1. 6 carries for 142 yards 9 carries for 138 yards That's like when I used to play NCAAF video games
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 1, 2018 -> 06:56 PM) Look at the splits Georgia is using now. Just gashing that 3-4 defense. Very cool.how they showed the freshman QB audible to switch sides on the running play that scored a touchdown
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 1, 2018 -> 06:15 PM) Pace’s contract was up next year along with Fox’s. Now his contract will match with his next coach Yeah, once they decided to retain him, the extension was standard procedure, no.big deal.
  4. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 1, 2018 -> 04:18 PM) On the flip side, who was the last coach to miss playoffs 3 years in a row with a franchise QB? Sean Payton 2014-2016
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 1, 2018 -> 02:53 PM) From the highlights I watched it seemed like Jared Goff massively improved his mechanics last offseason and that was a key step in what he did this year. Interesting. I hadn't watched them that closely, but his.improvement combined with Gurley made me.think coaching played a big part. Then again, everyone is an improvement over Mr. 8-8 Jeff Fisher
  6. The Rose Bowl was the most amazing sporting event I ever attended and my team lost by 24+ points. 10 years ago today, sigh. It looks even better in person than.on TV.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 30, 2017 -> 09:34 PM) I’m getting VGK season tix next year. I’m sold. You front runner! It is such a great story, they put together a young ,hungry roster full of 2nd and 3rd liners from every team. It will be interesting to see how they react in crunch time when the good teams take them more seriously every game. Enjoy the tickets, hockey is the best sport of the major four to be a spectator at, taking all seats into account.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 1, 2018 -> 01:16 PM) The funniest thing about good NFL coaches is they all have franchise QBs. Fox was pretty good when he had one. While I usually agree with that, it seems like the tide has changed a little recently. Did Jared Goff become a franchise QB overnight or is he getting coached up so well? The Vikings have had Sam Bradford and Case Keenum all year and are the 2 seed. None of the 4 AFC quarterbacks playing this weekend are franchise QBs by any means.
  9. QUOTE (oldsox @ Dec 22, 2017 -> 04:50 PM) Chalmers?? No, Williams. March 26, 2005.
  10. First winless season in the division since 1969, wow. That surprised me.
  11. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Dec 29, 2017 -> 06:11 PM) Looks like another season "Mired in Mediocrity". Going on 12 years in a row... But I see the light!
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 30, 2017 -> 12:22 PM) Pace has a press conference on New Year's day after the final game. Tells me Fox is gone and that Pace (like we expected) has kept his job. If the McCaskeys have taught us anything about them, Pace is not going anywhere yet. I'm fine either way, I can see both sides of the argument with him.
  13. Davante Adams got paid! So much for the bears signing him this off-season. @AdamSchefter More details on Davante Adams' new 4-year deal with the Packers: Deal is worth $58.75 million, including $18 million signing bonus and includes $32 million in the first two years, per source.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 29, 2017 -> 10:39 AM) Trade for Colome or acquire another set-up man and give it to Morrow? Edwards - Cishek - Morrow. That's not bad if they just stick with that, until Morrow's arm falls off
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 29, 2017 -> 10:06 AM) It will be interesting to see if they can win with the modern 5 inning starts idea. It's one thing to do it in the postseason with all the days off, it's another over a full 162 game season. Especially when your home games can quickly turn into double digit affairs.
  16. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Dec 29, 2017 -> 09:46 AM) Jeff Passan @JeffPassan Source: Wade Davis has agreed to a deal with the Colorado Rockies. Wow, the Rockies are going all in on bullpen spending.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 28, 2017 -> 12:27 PM) What do the year over year statistics look like here? We better ask the Hall of Fame voters how many WAR Merry Christmas has lost over the years, it's gotta be more than Omar Vizquel.
  18. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 28, 2017 -> 08:00 PM) ? He was suspended 30 days, which cost him about $1.7M. Maybe $1.7M is a lot of money to you, lol. My point was that he still signed a major free agent contract, which I thought was the message from.the OP.
  19. QUOTE (oldsox @ Dec 28, 2017 -> 05:13 PM) This is gonna cost Sano some big bucks. It cost Chapman nothing.
  20. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 28, 2017 -> 02:34 PM) Chapman had his charges dropped and still was punished by MLB With Chapman there was a full police report after police were called to a domestic incident. With Russell, there was one vague comment by a friend on an Instagram post, nothing else involving anything physical, his wife refused to cooperate. She only publicly mentioned him cheating, and Simple infidelity isn't gonna be punished by the league or half the league would be gone.

  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 28, 2017 -> 11:01 AM) Thome put up wRC+ of 153, 150, 122, and 123 during his time with the White Sox. Aaron Rowand had one good season after the White Sox traded him. If you want to blame defense, you can blame Ozzie for continually putting Mackowiak in CF, but the root cause of that team falling off was the complete implosion by the pitching staff. Their ERA rose a full run from 2005 to 2006. That trade had nothing to do with it, and in fact, I would say was the biggest reason they won 90 games that season. It's amazing how many career years the 2005 pitching staff had. Obviously Cotts and Politte has complete outlier seasons, but the 4 horsemen in the rotation were the same. Jon Garland (3.50) had one full season with a lower ERA and that .03 lower in Petco Park. Mark Buehrle's 3.12 ERA was easily the lowest season in his career. Jose Contreras had an ERA of 3.61, his next lowest as a full time starter was 4.27. Freddy had about his 4th lowest ERA at 3.87, although most other season were above 4.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 26, 2017 -> 08:46 PM) But the White Sox are in a position where by 2019, Kopech, Lopez, Giolito, Fulmer, and Hansen are all, barring injury, going to get extended stretches in the big leagues to prove themselves. And there's more behind them, and there's Rodon. These guys may not all succeed...but until you're confident one of them is useless, you have to know what spot they're going to take. Theres a nonzero chance I'll be saying we need to trade Hansen next offseason if the other guys hold their own, because there's only 5 rotation spots and we have more than 5 near-MLB-ready guys already. I understand that, but if you are confident in an established free agent fitting into your window, you don't pass on him because of your minor league depth, that's too risky. Unless it's 5 Kopechs. I'm not saying Arrieta is that guy by any means, but by 2019 one of those 5 guys mentioned may need a new elbow, another may be deemed useless already, and then your rotation is incomplete. And if your young bats are ready to roll, you may wish you had a quality veteran arm in that rotation.
  24. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 27, 2017 -> 02:01 PM) I really feel for their fans. The giants are in about the same shape as the cubs were when Theo took over. I think SF might even have more bad contracts than the cubs did. I'd call SF desperate but I think it's beyond that now. Personally I am so jealous of their fans. They have experienced more World Series winners since 2010 than probably any living White Sox fan, even those aged in the triple digits.
