  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) Take out all his good games, and I bet his OPS is s***. Cherry pick all you want. BTW, it's probably the .730 as referenced earlier. That's still better than most of the team put up. Well those 3 straight games with home runs were in October and they also were when the Sox were eliminated from contention. I agree with Marty that Viciedo was brutal against RHP and maybe could have sat a bit more often. However, the other options out there weren't much better and would not have won the Sox the divison. (Plus, Viciedo's worst moment was vs. a lefty, that bases loaded AB vs. Chen in KC. I still have nightmares about that one.)
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 01:50 PM) Sticking with a young player while he's struggling so he can work through it and improve as a player? Especially during months like July and August. Maybe his monster September happened in part due to fighting through those struggles. Yeah, consider my faith in Ventura lost. A .730 OPS is "monster"?
  3. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Lindstrom official with #WhiteSox. One year, $2.8M plus $4M club option for 2014. $2.25M in bonuses and escalators based on games finished. Bonuses and escalators in Lindstrom deal with #WhiteSox are over life of deal.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 11:31 AM) Forgot the green? Nope. Meaningless baseball on the radio is brutal. Especially when I'm looking forward to listening to B & B on my commute home, and instead it's a bunch of minor leaguers playing ball. I understand how people watch on TV, but spring training on the radio kills me.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 11:04 AM) Pour the oats Plop the yogurt Drench in milk Shake some protein Stir that s*** Put lid on (Sleep in bed) Open the lid Drop in blueberries Close the lid Drive to work Eat at work Grow massive erection Cut a hole in the lid. Put your dick in the...
  6. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 10:35 AM) I wonder who it could be, if that were the case? Would it have to be via trade, or are there any free agents left out there? Seager? Callaspo? Neil Walker?
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 10:13 AM) He won't. He finished at .917 in 2010-11
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 11:52 AM) Don't you hate on stair steppers - they are the s***. So I usually use the large stair machine, where the stairs are like 4 feet high and it's like actually walking up stairs. Sometimes those are full and I try to use the smaller machines, where it's more like your feet are on pedals so to speak. I can never figure out how to use those. Every 2-3 steps, my feet hit the ground and it can't keep the machine going. Am I going too fast or too slow? Do I need to change a setting?
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 09:07 AM) Hey, I like s***ting on Corey Crawford, it's one of my favorite pastimes, but he's been fantastic so far this season. 3-0, .923, 1.98. I'd poo my pantaloons if he could keep that percentage around .920 all year long. True, but that first goal yesterday just gave me memories of last year's playoff series. There was almost the second one like that, but Keith saved his ass.
  10. "Professor Tex, why do all those goofy Internet people actually think the Royals will be good at baseball?"
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 08:05 AM) Will Stewart be at Soxfest? Yup, he will be serving drinks
  12. This Center Ice free preview is so awesome. Crazy ending to regulation in Edmonton.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 07:42 PM) That means if he stays healthy in the first half he's excellent trade bait, which is exactly what the Mets should be trying to find. Sounds like an ideal signing for the Cubs as well.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 03:33 PM) I cant recall ever getting "beat up" by Wisconsin in bball. Going into West Lafayette is another story. I concur. f*** West Lafayette. And the one time I went there, I got a flat tire too.
  15. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 04:24 PM) Shaun Marcum to the Mets in 1 year deal I have an unreasonable love for Shaun Marcum... I have no idea why... but I've always kept an eye out for him fantasy baseball wise, because he always gives great value for his draft position. Should do well in Citi Field. I second this post.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 03:13 PM) I'm going to be the only one laughing when Zach Stewart wins the Cy Young award next year I didn't realize that AAA also named their top pitcher award after Cy Young.
  17. I can't figure out the damn embedding on here, but this:
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 11:49 AM) Seaking of MJ - I love me some MJ. LeBron may not get to 6 rings (who knows, who cares), but right now he's flat out a better baller than MJ ever was. Hell, I'm even leaning that way with Kevin Durant - he's a freak of nature. These guys are bigger, stronger, and better than MJ. MJ would still get his against them if we're talking prime, but if I were starting a franchise today, I'd take prime LBJ or Durant over prime MJ. There, I said it. Flame on. I think those magic oats are getting to your head
  19. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 10:17 AM) Moustakas just had a 3.5 WAR season. Beckham just had a 0.8 WAR season. True, but a large part of that is due to Moustakas's glove. I was just referring to their offensive stats. Moose was a bit better last year, but not significantly.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 10:05 AM) 8 teams my ass. Yeah, that's just Scott Boras doing his thing.
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 09:18 AM) Wasn't he going to play LF? It'd be kind of redundant with Upton in the fold. Oh, and the Upton brothers in Atlanta is kind of cool too. Never mind, I thought he was playing third. Atlanta just needs to trade for Kate to complete the trifecta.
  22. Wow, Martin Prado? I guess he's a free agent after this season, but that kind of hurts the Braves this year.
  23. QUOTE (TomSeaverFan @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 02:10 AM) Carlos May? Can somebody get me his autograph? That is so cool he'll be there. Carlos May is the only player in MLB history to wear his birthday on the back of his jersey. (May 17)
