  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 11:01 PM) An alien has taken over Kirks body The Lakers are a joke. I don't get it The Lakers are not even gonna make the playoffs. They have to finish 26-15 (.634) just to get to 43 wins, which still might not be enough.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 07:28 AM) I'd guess he was referencing that speeding ticket he got? I think it has to do with his partying, courtside NBA seats, and flashing cash in casinos, all on Twitter as well.
  3. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 07:35 PM) I saw it get as high as -4 today. Fun stuff. You could always live in Yakutsk.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 09:17 AM) Yeah, even worse is when you go on interviews and don't get a courtesy call or email back. The worst is when you e-mail asking for an update and they can't even respond to your e-mail. I don't care if you tell me to go f*** myself, just give me an official no.
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 07:15 PM) Are they doing it all in the off-season or are they playing in Milwaukee? All during the off-season. They discussed playing two months a year at Miller Park, but talks never got serious.
  6. QUOTE (Lamar Johnson 23 @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) I already said I'd sacrifice "long term" for another WS Championship. How long are you willing to sacrifice? it's been 7 seasons since the last WS title, and you already are upset with management. If they truly went all-in and sacrificed the future, it could be 10-20 years before they are competitive again. You claim you are OK with that, but your comments today show that you won't be.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 12:05 PM) At least one I can remember was a 4th and 8...and this was fairly early in the game, before the Pats' defense got banged up and couldn't slow down the Ravens' offense. In the first quarter, they punted on 4th & 9 from the BAL 35 and on 4th & 2 from the BAL 45. Their first drive of the 3rd, they punted on 4th & 8 from the BAL 34. I realize those aren't ideal situations to go for it, but their strength is their offense and its agressiveness. I'd rather take the chance of converting the 4th down than gaining the 25 or so yards on a punt. Plus with the crappy weather, Tucker wasn't gonna hit a 50 yard field goal, which means Baltimore would have had to drive further down the field than normal.
  8. This morning I hit up Burger King for breakfast. They now serve cheesy tots.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 10:54 AM) My points is they are already averaging a sellout a night (well a little less in the last year. but a .500 team changes that much quicker than $300 million in out of pocket renovations), who else is going to go? Some of the renovations are strictly for safety issues and for increasing players comfort and luxury, like the batting cages and nicer clubhouses. While the other renovations may not increase attendance, they can still increase revenue. If you have more & better restaurants, that could lead to fans spending more money in the park. I'm sure that Captain Morgan club brought them business that would have gone to Wrigleyville bars instead. Same could also be said with larger, nicer fan shops. Also, some of the renovations will allow to them to do more advertising, which can be a good spike in revenue. There's also that hotel they are looking to build, not sure if that's specifically part of this renovation.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 09:13 AM) I'm not sure how... How exactly are you getting more people to go to games out of this? It could have a similar but lesser effect as a new stadium does. During their rebuilding process, I'm sure fans would go to a game or two just to see what the updates look like.
  11. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 10:14 AM) Kind of. They were asked to make bold, out there predictions and Smoltz said the Royals would win the division. Does he really think that they will? Probably not. Thanks for letting facts get in the way of another anti-Sox post!
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 09:30 AM) I think Belliceck was an idiot. They kicked from the Ravens 35 multiple times and those are times where in the regular season, they would have went for it (and they should have went for it). Really bad job of executing as well on the Pats behalf. Great job of the Ravens making 2nd half adjustments. I'm still shocked by those decisions. If there is any coach in the NFL who would go for it there, it's Belichek. Not sure what he was thinking.
  13. The Ricketts have offered to pay the $300 million out of their own pocket, as long as the city eases up restrictions on advertising, night games, concerts, street fests, etc. The neighborhood has such a stranglehold on the Cubs' nuts it's not even funny.
  14. So how about Bernard Pollard? -slammed into Brady's knee, tearing the ACL -Welker was avoiding his tackle when he slipped and tore his ACL -hurts Gronkowski's ankle on a tackle, which may have cost Pats Super Bowl last year -knocks Steven Ridley out, causing fumble that clinched the game yesterday
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 07:14 AM) Damn gym date in the am - couldn't watch a lick of Hawks hockey last night. It's good to see that Hossa is showing no ill-effects from that concussion. I think the lockout helped him. It sounded like he wasn't 100% in November, but these extra two to three months fully cleared all the haze out of his head.
  16. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 10:21 PM) I would trade Viciedo if Bourn was signed. Get some young talent for the minors. The White Sox finally have a young player with talent, and people already want to trade them for other "young talent"?
  17. FYI, NHL Center Ice has a free preview all week if you want to watch Vancouver implode or any other team.
  18. Two weeks of Harbaugh v Harbaugh and that asshole Ray Lewis. Ugh, shoot me now.
  19. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 09:00 AM) Just blows my mind how good Brad Stevens is. Obviously it's not going to happen with Crean turning IU around, but dear lord Indiana could be a dynasty with Stevens at the helm. It's crazy how the dude shows zero emotion, he's always the same guy. When that shot hit last night, he didn't react excitedly at all, he just started walking towards Mark Few to shake his hand. Guys like Crean or Groce would have jumped up and screamed first.
  20. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 02:22 PM) Yes, but keep in mind Butler played Illinois on the 3rd day in a row after two tough games against Marquette and UNC, while Illinois had easy games against USC and Chaminade. Not saying Illinois wouldn't win under different circumstances but its not tough to figure it affected how Butler played. Give the Illini all the credit for winning fairly easily and for going on the road to Gonzaga. Hey now, don't hate on Chaminade, they beat Texas!
  21. So it begins in Vancouver. Schneider gets pulled for Luongo.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 06:44 AM) Yeah, So Butler/Gonzaga was pretty epic. Especially with the setting of Hinkle Fieldhouse, that was awesome. Still hard to believe that they both lost to a 1-4 Big Ten team.
