  1. Time will tell, but I like the thought process behind the hire. Nothing wrong with thinking outside the box, and it's pretty obvious Emery did his research on the candidates. Maybe we will get to see some offense in Chicago for once!
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 08:31 PM) Rave time! Nice. Reminds me of when James Brown Is Dead was the hot track.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 08:52 PM) It started going bad when Ayenbadejo left, and gradually key guys like Corey Graham ended up leaving and nobody stepped up in their places unfortunately Exactly. Hester was a heck of a returner, but he had some incredible special teams units in front of him.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 10:41 AM) The game is in Bloomington? I'd be surprised if Wisconsin covers the 10 points, no way they win. Good thing I quit gambling on college hoops.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 07:40 PM) The disappearance of Hester has reduced the ST scoring ability to pretty much Robbie Goulds leg. Toub is a good coach, but he can be replaced. Bringing the offense to a respectable level should more than offset Toubs loss I wonder how much the disappearance of Hester had to do with the turnover in the special teams blockers, it didn't seem like he had the same holes as in the past.
  6. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 08:32 AM) Clinton OR G.Dub. Jr. I agree. Clinton if we are gonna go partying after dinner. Bush if we are just gonna hang out and get drunk as f***.
  7. EINHORN IS FINKLE FINKLE IS EINHORN
  8. Denver to host US-Costa Rica qualifier on March 22. I think Denver's altitude was the key, since the battle at Azteca is four days later.
  9. We know it WASN'T Rick Hahn, since he does nothing but sit on his ass.
  10. I did not see this coming: Jeff Passan ‏@JeffPassan Source: Rafael Soriano agrees to two-year, $28M deal with Nationals. Deal contains vesting option for third year. Story coming on Y! Sports.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 12:48 PM) Will Carlton Fisk be driving in? Fisk & LaRussa could have an endurance road race. First one to fall asleep loses!
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 10:44 AM) Jeff Dickerson ‏@ESPNChiBears As @BradBiggs reported earlier, Dave Toub will not be back with the #Bears next season. Had a great run here. He did an outstanding job here, but special teams weren't very good in 2012.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 08:26 AM) It only took them 7 years to get back to the playoffs, Sox fans will stick around for that, right? 7 years and lucking into a superstar with the #1 pick.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 07:49 AM) Armstrong officially will admit running a drug program to Oprah. Of course he goes on Oprah, his arrogance has no limits. Instead of asking about doping, I hope she asks about all the people he bullied and blackmailed.
  15. The game is in Bloomington? I'd be surprised if Wisconsin covers the 10 points, no way they win.
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 08:46 PM) All time low in the shot clock era is 49...by your Chicago Bulls. Kornel David was your leading scorer that night.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 08:15 PM) How did we luck into Ramirez? If he was on the Tigers, it would be due to the dilligence and skill of their scouting department, not luck,
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 09:42 PM) I really don't get the fascination with Cowher...he doesn't strike me as some incredibly intelligent guy or amazing leader...and it's not like Tomlin didn't walk in and do the exact same thing with that team as Cowher did. He is from Pennsylvania, has one Super Bowl ring, and has a mustache. Sounds just like a past Bears coach.
  19. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 09:28 PM) Exactly. For the Sox the only one I can come up with in recent memory is Fregosi. I can't think of one for the Bulls. For the Hawks, I think it's Keenan. Coach Q had about ten years of head coaching experience before this stint with the Hawks.
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 04:47 PM) Also, who is Santiago playing for? Puerto Rico
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 03:51 PM) I think Luck had legitmately very little help this year, particularly from his defense, so despite the completion %age, his performance was hugely impressive. The other thing that worries me on a guy like Wilson is...how well will the read-option QB's hold up over time? I agree. Other than Reggie Wayne, Luck's supporting cast was far inferior to Wilson's.
  22. Unfortunately for the Bears, I think Aaron Rodgers is #1 and it's not even close.
  23. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 10:45 AM) it's a player development guy. NOT moose's. i asked A player development guy who has appeared in multiple WS? or is that a fib?
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 01:36 PM) Once again...I'll repeat. The White Sox scored the 4th most runs in the American league last year. They outscored the Tigers. They outscored every other team in the AL Central. They did so with a .600 OPS out of their 3b slot. That's cumulative, over the full season...a .600 OPS. Counting Youkilis. Getting >.700 OPS out of the 3b slot would be like Viciedo turning into an all star for what it would do to the offense. Yes, we lost AJ and his .830 OPS. Flowers could do that, but if all he does is put up a low-.700 OPS, the Sox will, on paper, be exactly where they were last year in offense. If they're expecting "Just enough offense", then they're expecting substantially worse seasons from Rios, Konerko, etc, with no improvement from Viciedo or Beckham to offset it. Because last year, the Sox had substantial offense. It was the middle-of-the-pack pitching staff that cost the Sox last year, not the offense. The "awful" 2012 offense is going to go down in history with the "small-ball" 2005 offense that never hit home runs.
  25. Thanks to rental losses on our old condos in the city and our current mortgage interest, we always get a huge refund. Last year between the state & feds it was almost $11,000. I don't care about the "interest-free" loan argument. I would have spent the money during the year, this way we can either build up our savings, do something to the house, or sponsor a vacation.
