  1. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 11:34 AM) If there's really not any actual risk, what is the point of the rule? Why should it remain in place? Because at one time there was thought to be a risk. As the article stated, they are reviewing it to be certain there are no risks whatsoever. In the meantime, they have more important issues than whether or not Trixie can check her Facebook while the flight's landing.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 11:42 AM) Again, is that Carmichael or is he just letting Brees do his thing with a little push here and there? How much of that offense was implemented by Sean Payton too?
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 10:44 AM) If people can't shut their damn phones and tabs off for 15 minutes prior to takeoff and landing, then they are certainly welcome to drive or take a boat to their destinations. I agree 100%. Alec Baldwin can go f*** himself and fly privately if he can't go 15 minutes without playing Words with Friends.
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 06:38 AM) SEC is horribly overrated. Can't believe people still think Alabama wins by double digits. Beware of the last-second back door cover, it will get you every time!
  5. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 08:49 AM) I think their perception is based off of how they actually looked. And I don't really think the SEC is proving to be "weaker", they just havent showed up. Michigan played very well, Clemson is a really good team, Florida looked horrible, which was shocking. Georgia didn't look as good as they have before, but not having Jenkins anchoring that line was a big deal against that rushing game. Bowl games aren't always great indicators of teams or conferences. I didn't watch the entirety of any of those games, but between underclassmen leaving and uninspired play due to injury fear or malaise, injuries, coaching changes, roster fluctuation etc...bowl season can be pretty random. I'm not directly attributed any of that to any specific game, because I didn't watch enough of them, that is a statement about bowls in general. 2 or 3 of the Florida DBs declared for the draft immediately after the game. I think that tells you where there head was at.
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 2, 2013 -> 07:58 PM) I've got high hopes for Maverick Morgan, he's tearing it up this season. I still can't get over the fact that Maverick Morgan is white.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 2, 2013 -> 07:55 PM) Illinois getting some calls tonight. That 4 point play for BP3 was Jordan/Kobe-esque.
  8. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 2, 2013 -> 07:47 PM) After a great start I am now 19-10 on my bowl picks, I feel the prize slipping away. Sounds like someone picked a lot of Big Ten teams.
  9. I forgot what it's like to be nervous for an Illinois basketball game. Would be great to start out conference play with a road win against a very beatable team.
  10. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jan 2, 2013 -> 01:10 PM) Hopefully the 4 mill Kellen Davis and Matt Spaeth make will be gone as well....Urlacher, Hester, Davis, and Spaeth all being gone would clear up about 16 mill, Long is gonna be lookin for around 11. If all the Bears do this offseason is sign Long and resign Melton, I'll be ok with that. If they cut Davis & Spaeth, I hope they sign a replacement tight end too. Davis's cap hit jumps to $3.85 million in 2013.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 2, 2013 -> 12:28 PM) Letting Urlacher and Hester go would be a pretty good chunk of that. Hester's cap hit in 2013 is only $2.85 mil. It had been over $7.5 mil each of the last two seasons. Urlacher's was just over $9 million in 2012. Peppers cap hit went from $4.4 mil in 2011, to $12.4 this year, and will be $16.4 million in 2013.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2013 -> 07:57 AM) I'd assume part of the problem had to be that he was involved in choosing their QB candidate. If that's the case then that's way more understandable. I assumed it was all on the GM.
  13. The offensive/defensive line battle has been such a FSU domination. No pressure whatsoever on Manuel, and Lynch has had zero room to run between the tackles. It's still only a two score game though, so anything can happen right?
  14. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 08:33 PM) Whisenhunt is better than Arizona showed. He deserves another head coaching job. He didn't deserve to be fired so quickly. Rex Grossman would have an upgrade at the QB position for them.
  15. QUOTE (3E8 @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 07:57 PM) How many hits do you guys think the shift took away from Dunn? 10 potential hits would've been 19 batting average points. I disagree with the notion of the shift taking hits away from Dunn. It's not like they moved into the shift after he swung the bat. He knew it was there and still hit into it. That's not gonna change in the future, so let's not act like he's a victim. Those 10 potential hits aren't gonna happen.
  16. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 1, 2013 -> 04:18 PM) Myers signs with Cleveland Cleveland is really cornering the market on free agent assholes.
  17. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 05:21 PM) Pretty embarrassing effort by Kiffin and Co today. Few weeks to prepare and his QB looks like complete trash. But it was fun to see USC fall flat again. That asshat needs to be fired, what an embarassment.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) They are as close as 50% of the NFL, need a good qb. The Chiefs problem is that they keep picking crappy ones and this year should be pretty horrific for finding a QB. They picked a bad year to be the worst team in football. The Colts are the best franchise in choosing which season to suck it up.
  19. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 01:38 PM) I don't necessarily agree. He built a pretty talented roster. The QB spot is what's holding that team back. Granted, he's the guy who spent big money on Cassell, but if he can get that fixed, then I think the Chiefs could be pretty good. They had 5 guys make the Pro Bowl this year. The talent is there. The coaching and the QB was not. It's funny how the best coaches & GMs seem to always have a good QB on their roster.
  20. QUOTE (MAX @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 01:20 AM) You have lost your mind. Alexei Ramirez has had a better white sox playing career than ozzie guillen. I was just clarifying what the earlier post said. It's hard to compare the two since Ozzie was a defensive specialist while AJ was all about the offense.
  21. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 10:15 PM) Wait a second...Are you guys talking about Ozzie? I don't get the bold part. Yup. Ozzie's Sox playing career >>> AJ's.
