  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:26 PM) The Bears have never hired a head coach with previous NFL head coaching experience. If Lovie goes, there is a decent chance Wanne II is hired. At least Bears fans will be happy until September. Good point. Despite the new GM, the McCaskeys are still the owners. They paid Lovie to keep him, but they have never paid big money for a new coach.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:09 PM) So you think a better coach would have faired better even with a roster that isn't as good? If the Bears had as nice of a roster as the Packers the past 3 years, I would agree, but they haven't. Changing coaches won't change the results. Look how happy everyone was when Tice became OC. Now he is a dope. If the Bears don't address their OL, they will be lucky to go 10-6 in 2013 no matter who is coaching them. I'm with you that Lovie is a good coach and has done decently with the roster give to him. That being said, I still think he should be gone. Sometimes you need to change it up in the locker room, and you have a new GM who may want to incoporate a new system defensively, which will give him more leeway in the draft and free agency. Andy Reid went to 5 NFC Champ. games. Is he suddenly a bad coach? No, but it is still time for Philly to get rid of him. Same thing with Lovie IMO.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:03 PM) No one is doubting the Bears offense sucks. That isn't the point. Peterson and their offense didn't do that to the Bears the two times they played us. That's cause the Bears D is better than GB. The point is that the Vikings beat the Packers when it came to down to it, something the Bears were never close to doing. Season over.
  4. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:01 PM) GONE: KELLEN. f***ING. DAVIS. It's a good thing the Bears traded Olsen to make Mike Martz happy. Olsen's not an All-Pro but damn would be helpful.
  5. For everyone complaining about the Packers s***ty D today, the Bears faced that D twice and scored 23 points. Total.
  6. That's one postseason appearance in the last 6 seasons for the Bears.
  7. Bears went 1-3 vs. MIN & GB. They let SEA go 95 yards then 80 yards on them at Soldier Field with the game on the line. That's where the blame lies. Props to the Vikings, they won @ Hou and beat GB with the season on the line.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 06:23 PM) Ballsy by McCarthy to go for it there. Good thing it worked out. It's an easy decision when you have the best QB in the world.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 05:50 PM) Stupid design of the rule. It's pretty much a lock that the rule will change in the offseason. They will keep the penalty, but the "unable to review" portion will be gone.
  10. Wow. That's a huge call for the Packers. It essentially negates the 15-yard penalty and they got a touchdown.
  11. Either Jones was down or that's a touchdown, but no way it's a fumble.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 11:06 AM) I'm sorry. I'll delete my post. It's still there liar.
  13. This is really weird rooting for an offense that moves down the field with such ease and one in which the receivers make so many plays, with & without the ball.
  14. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 06:42 PM) I think Dunn is a liability to this team wherever you put him. Unfortunately, the money he is owed dictates he plays which is different from Viciedo. I believe the best chance the White Sox have to contend next year is to keep Floyd, Quintana, Santiago and try to cobble together enough offense. If that means putting Dunn in left and signing Hafner, I can live with that for a year. If Santiago, Quintana, and Danks all perform well that opens up a lot of options for 2014. Who is gonna take Hafner's place for the 80 games he misses with injury?
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 12:55 PM) Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Source: #Brewers agree with Mike Gonzalez. Their bullpen can't be any worse than last year.
  16. I remember some fans calling the 2001 season a failure because they lost to the Packers twice. They went 13-1 against everyone else.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) This is true, but Phil doesnt have the luxury of swooping into a situation with a GOAT contender And I think he'd rather relax in Montana then take over a team with minimal championship hopes, no matter the money he is offered.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 12:41 PM) Money always talks for PJax. If he gets a multiyear deal with a promise to add to the current roster(who knows how that can be done), it might bait him. He knows the Lakers arent calling anytime soon Money talks when you have MJ/Scottie, Kobe/Shaq, Kobe/Gasol on the roster. It doesn't sound as good with DWill/Johnson/Lopez
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) You honestly don't understand why the human psyche has a bigger reaction to a class full of small children all being mowed down in one incident as opposed to one child at a time sporadically throughout the year? I realize why there was a bigger reaction. But IMO the everyday gun violence is a way bigger issue than mass shootings, but since the everyday violence is secluded to a few bad neighborhoods, the majority of people don't concern themselves with it.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) Yeah who gives a s*** about a class full of 6 and 7 year olds. No idea why this sparked outrage. The same amount of students are killed nearly every year in Chicago. I don't see much outrage over that.
  21. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 10:20 AM) Just got an email from a pal who listened. His synopsis: Last season Robin allowed girlfriends to fly on the charter jet on road trip. Apparently wives were only allowed with Ozzie. All season long, AJ openly complained about this, sometimes in front of said gf's. This pissed a lot of the single Sox off big time. He was just pissed that he was stuck with his wife, he would have preferred to bring a girlfriend as well.
  22. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 09:06 AM) Grim milestone: Austin shooting apparently 500th homicide in Chicago Just think if we registered and fingerprinted gun owners! And banned handguns! Problem solved. Those shootings don't matter. Guns are only a problem when cute little white kids are getting shot.
  23. QUOTE (Lamar Johnson 23 @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 08:33 AM) I'm "citing" them as an indicator of how some members of the national sports media perceive the Sox and their off season "improvements". And at the same time, on the same website, there is an article praising the White Sox subtle offseason improvements and calling them a sleeper team for 2013.
  24. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 12:26 AM) Would the Sox consider retiring AJ's number? I personally feel that he falls just a little shy of having it retired. Absolutely not and it's not even close IMO. There already is the statue of him outside for his WS accomplishment. Buehrle & Konerko are the only ones who could even be discussed.
  25. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 05:04 AM) Up 49-19. UCLA scores a touchdown to end the game 49-26. He thinks they didn't get in, so he was pissed off and yelling and trying to call a timeout so he could challenge it before time expired. He then was all mad looking after they didn't let him. Maybe he had the under?
